  • "My family had been to Parker many times over the years, but in the past few hadn't gone back because it had become a bit overpriced, its menu seemed somewhat static and limited, and several competitors had arisen. We decided to give it another try and went back with several friends and were all very pleased. Most had seafood of various sorts, while I had the duck breast and confit, which was very well prepared. The prices remain a bit high compared to comparable restaurants, but the gap seems to have closed."

We all had fish (salmon/halibut) and were very happy with what we ordered. Shout out to our server, Linda, who was extremely efficient and just the right amount of friendly and professional.   • "It had been some time since I had been at Parker's and I was pleasantly surprised that the quality of the service and the food had not decreased as in so many restaurants. We ordered the smelt and crabcake appetizer and both had a great sauce that gave an incredible lift to them. We also had the lobster bisque and clam chowder which where very light but full of flavor. The main course of halibut and Cajun tilapia had a nice zing to them, but the bread pudding was a perfect finish. During the whole meal, the service was consistent and timely. There was not a time when I was in need of beverages, a table cleaning, or answers to questions about the restaurant."

When I passed it recently I remembered it and will keep it in mind from now on and bring friends back. I had the bouillabaisse and it was wonderful. I will have to go back and try some other things that were tantalizing on the menu. Good experience!"

  • "My husband and I celebrated my birthday at Parker's last Saturday night and the evening was wonderful, as expected. We've been eating at Parker's for years (back when it was Parker's Seafood) and I always know I'll love the food, but I've also come to look forward to the experience. The service is spot-on, every time-- just enough help and attention without being smothering. If there's a question about wine, there's always an expert immediately on hand to assist if the server doesn't know the answer. After dinner, there was a nice, but small crowd in the bar and the piano player set the perfect mood for a summer Saturday night. I look forward to the next time I visit Parker's... it's always worth it."

  • " It has consistently attentive service, w/great food Following wine and breads, we had the BEET SALAD which was heavenly. I had the SEA SCALLOPS with Spinach, and roasted potatoes. The scallops did not disappoint in size or flavor. My husband had the FILET MIGNON* with Potatoes, Vegetable, which was cooked to perfection. Desserts were Carmel Budino and Key Lime Pie with Raspberry sauce. Both were excellent. you can either eat in the bar for casual or in the DR as we did for formal."

  • "We used to go to Parker's more when the spicy ahi shandong (sp?) was on the menu because it was my favorite. My husband and I were surprised that with only a few customers in the restaurant we waited quite a while for anyone to come to our table. I ordered the duck, my husband the salmon, and I was brought lamb! My husband tried to wait for my correct entree but he finished his meal so it wasn't cold and he even had his plate cleared from the table before my entree was brought out. I was amazed that a manager didn't come over to say ANYTHING. I watched my husband have his dinner in front of me. Not fun. At the very least a free drink or app should've been offered while I waited when the restaurant made a mistake. We may not go back."

Calamari appetizer was excellent and large portion. Shrimp & lobster fritter appetizer was tasty but small portion. Filet mignon's were grilled perfectly. Ambience was friendly and casual. To the expensive side, but quality was worth the price. Great spot for a business or family dinner."

  • "Went for dinner Sat. night. Had a reservation and they gave us a choice of bar or restaurant. We chose bar since there was a piano player. Server was great (sorry I don't remember her name). Friendly, helpful and when my date did not like the drink she ordered, they brought her something different and did not charge us for the one that was sent back. That's good service. We both had fish and both were excellent. I live in the city but if I am out in the burbs again I would eat here again without hesitation."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Parker's, as in the past. The noise level was quite high at the start but moderated later. Table service was timely and competent. The only discordant note was the way the restaurant sells wine! Wine is no longer offered in full or half bottles! The management has also increased the price of its wine service by offering it in 3 and 6 oz servings - with 3 oz servings priced at 5 oz sizes in other restaurants. I would have simply raised prices per glass instead of this scheme!"

  • "When I made my reservation about a month ago, I requested that we be seated at a table that would not have a lot of traffic walking by. Despite having the alcove directly across from the main buffet table approximately 70% empty, out hostess tried to seat us at the entrance table. It took quite awhile for anyone to acknowledge our presence at the table. While we found the food to be no better than average for a Sunday brunch, the service was horrible. We had our silverware removed and not replaced twice while up at the buffet. I also had an almost full glass of wine removed while we were getting dessert. I had to track down our server to discuss this with him and his response was that they were trying to turn the tables. Won't be back. "

  • "7:30 reservations on Saturday 5/3. The 40 minute wait in the bar was understandable on a busy Saturday. But there was some sort of family party there with 4-5 children under the age of 5. Suppose someone might have suggested they stop screaming and running through the restaurant? It's a pricey place with a great piano player in the lounge. But it seemed a lot more like being at my cousin's wedding in the church basement. Feel very short-changed."

  • "Parkers is certainly one of the finest restaurants in the western suburbs. Exceptional service, consistently great food, well prepared and presented. Manageable noise level, and a decidedly adult crowd...which is nice. We've been coming here for years and have never had a single misfire. However! Parkers is clueless when it comes to honoring timely reservations. They are always (always!) 20-30 minutes behind, and you will not be seated at your reserved time. Guaranteed. If you wish to dine at 7:30PM for example, you'd best reserve for 7:00PM and stand around and wait for 30 minutes. I say stand around, as the bar is always full with no place to sit. Their foyer is always full of patrons, standing and waiting for their tables."

  • "Our most recent experience here was not as good as past experiences. Less fish offerings, more sauces in the offerings. We felt a bit pressured to leave as we were among the last to leave on a Sunday night. I will go back as it has been a favorite. Love the fireplace and dining area."

  • "My husband and I ordered the special white fish, which was a plain piece of fish atop mashed potatoes, topped with kale straws. There were a few baby shrimp around the edges with a butter/wine sauce. Not very flavorful at all. Blahhhh! Will not rush back there since it is costly and this was not worth the money."

  • "Parker's Number 1 Priority is to get as many people served on a weekend night as it possibly can. Instead of allowing diners to enjoy each course of their meal, Parker's want to make sure as many people sit in your chair in a given night as could fit. This goal is sad, since it's a nice looking place with good food. We were served a cocktail, appetizer, sald, and entree in 50 minutes! Instead of being able to enjoy the courses, it was our waitress's desire to get us our food and move us out. While the host was receptive to our complaints, he took $14 off the bill and gave us a $25 gift certificate to return back. Next time we're in the mood for a quick Filet O' Fish, we'll stop in. "
