Diner Reviews
  • "to celebrate aunt's 70th birthday food was delicious!"
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Parker's Lighthouse is one of my favorite places to eat. The outside seating has a beautiful view of The Queen Mary. And this particular Sunday was especially nice because of the weather. The brunch itself was ok. The cold selection was great: fresh oysters, jumbo shrimp, and delicious pasta. The hot selection left a little too be desired. Highlights were the sausages, Applewood smoked bacon, and waffles. Other selections were either too dry (crab cakes) or under seasoned. The dessert area was lackluster as well. I will definitely come back, often in fact. I don't think I will be eating a buffet there again though. "

  • "The food was tasty and plenty of it. Being with a bad hip seating at table 79 was the best seat in the house. Right next to the restrooms and elevator. It was so great that we are returning for mothers day. It was our anniversary and you guys made it special."

  • "wonderful night , our server was excellent and a great evening celebrating our anniversary . . . Also was suprised when our server brought us a slice of cheesecake to celebrate...we bought thought that was awesome !"

  • "I highly recommend this restaurant. The food and the service was excellent even on a busy holiday as Easter. The waiters and waitress were very friendly and attentive. "

  • "I ordered the chefs special swordfish. It was great. My fiance ordered the macadamia nut mahi mahi. She truly enjoyed it. We shared a creme brulee for desert, love the chocolate spoons"

  • "Came for dinner after seeing the reviews. Earlier in the day we went on a bay cruise and saw the restaurant from the boat and was impressed with the look/location. Were seated in a nice table with views. Kids (they have a kids menu, would recommend with kids only if they are older and well behaved like ours) had excellent quality fish and chips and their meal included drink and ice cream/sorbet. Wife and I had a nice glass of wine, bread/butter (rolls were too chewy), bottled water. Then I had an amazing NE clam chowder and a platter with grilled fish (a little dry) a shrimp/scallop skewer and a crab cake, rice pilaf and veggies. It was pretty good but would not order again. Wife had an amazing miso Chilean seabass. About $130 total. "

  • "This was my first experience at Parkers' Lighthouse. I heard such great things. It was everything that I expected it to be. I am looking forward to my next visit."

  • "This looked like it was going to be a wonderful evening! First started with a seat change from a wonderful window seat out looking the ocean, to a seat in a dark narrow area with a view of a wall, then the waitress was totally useless and rude! My order was amazing! However that feeling was not shared by the whole table! Overall a disappointing experience. A shame really, this restaurant came with great reviews."

  • "The aesthetics are surely what brings clientele.Very nice little spot overlooking the water. While the waitress we had was friendly, I cannot say the same for the other employees. Maybe it's because I'm a younger man(mid 20's) that busboys within my age cohort think it's acceptable to push past me(one even spilled water on me in the process-with no apology of course-just a glance and off he went). Nice right? The food was undercooked, drinks were pretty skimpy but the bill was not. If it weren't for the fact this outing was for my fathers birthday celebration, I'd likely have raised my concerns. Overall: Location, location, location. That is the sole reason I can see why one would like to dine here. Everything else? Mediocre at best."

  • "These past few months I have hosted houseguests from WI, Santa Cruz and most recently five from MN, ME, NE and SD. (This is a test, "Do you know your abbreviations?") In each case, we celebrated by having dinner at Parkers' Lighthouse. And, in each case, the food was superb, the service wonderful and, of course, the view was spectacular. I also like the ease of making reservations on your web site. All that being written, on each occasion when we arrived the noise level was OK, but as the evenings progressed and the restaurant filled up, it got pretty noisy and hard to hear."

  • "The staff members were very friendly and professional. The food was well-prepared and delicious. We stayed at our table for a long time after finishing our meal but never felt pressured to leave -- but then I was keeping an eye on the place and there were many available tables. If there weren't, of course I would've moved our party elsewhere. We were family members who hadn't seen one another for quite some time and had a lot to talk about. We were happy with our choice of Parker's Lighthouse. Thank you, and we'll be back (and we won't stay so long)!"

  • "Great food with a great view. You can see the Queen Mary from the floor to ceiling windows. The music is just right and the staff is courteous and attentive without being intrusive."

  • "Our party had members wanting luscious steaks and others fresh fish. Parkers Lighthouse was the perfect restaurant ! Orders included a 14 ounce new york steak, charbroiled salmon and filet mignon with lobster tail. The 'Rock oysters' ordered as appetizers were superb. The wedge salads with blue cheese crumbles were yummy. The entrees were excellent! Our server was at our table when needed but never hovered. The ambiance and view from the restaurant was as wonderful as their food. By the way, our desserts (creme brulete and cheese cake) were the best we have ever had. The is an excellent restaurant that we will all recommend to our friends l"

  • "Best view at any table! Wonderful staff! Lovely atmosphere and decor! My friends and I will return often!"
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "Came here for brunch and sat on the third level. It's a nice space with a fantastic view, but it was very empty. The service was nice, but casual. We ordered the make-your-own Bloody Marys, which was fun, but very involved. Not for everyone, I'm sure. The portions here are very big, and it's a really great value. The food is good, though I didn't find it as innovative as the menu makes it out to be. Overall, great experience and I would definitely recommend to a friend for a nice brunch in Long Beach."

  • "Hadn't been here in a long time. Had friends in from out of town, and we ended up having a great time. The waiter gave us some great recommendations. Everyone enjoyed the experience. We'll be back."

  • "We are from Las Vegas and found this restaurant while down in LA for business. We enjoyed it so much our first time that when we returned again this month. My husband and I really enjoy the view and the atmosphere. On this 2nd visit they allowed us to sit up on the 2nd level even when we were going to be the only ones. Outstanding service and we most definitely will be back while visiting Southern CA."

  • "Great ambiance and great place to celebrate special days. People at three other tables around us were celebrating a birthday, as were we. We had the Chef's specials (spinach gorgonzola swordfish and pork osso buco). Both dinners were tasty and well-prepared. The Mediterraean salad was an especially nice way to start. The wine list was good and enjoyable, but our choice was not as buttery or as robust as I would have expected, given the price and the restaurant's decription of how the white wines were listed. Overall, it was a great dining experience."

  • "Was visiting Long Beach on business and used my Open Table app to find location restaurants. I am a seafood lover. My fiancé and I went on a date and loved everything! The swordfish was amazing!"

  • "This outing was for a birthday celebration. The entire staff provided excellent customer service. The food is amazing! The entire experience made the celebration a fantastic experience."

  • "I dine here frequently but mist reconsider after trying to bring our dog on the patio. The manager gave me some ridiculous story about a customer having the dog sit in the chair, sorry but ask them to leave don't penalize all dog owners. Please reconsider your policy."

  • "Sat outside for lunch the food was excellent.......had the fish special. The view was amazing and we were never rushed. Everything was excellent . Would highly recommend....."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "Service.. Slow, non-attentive, had to ask for water, bread, a wine glass( because the first one got broken and the server never replaced it) and a glass for the bottle of beer that was served. Food.. below average. Not what we have come to expect. One order was completely mixed up. Long wait to correct it. Management attitude.. Tried to make it right, but customer service does not seen to be a priority. Plus side ( not).. They gave us one piece of cheesecake for 6 people to share. Really?"

  • "When I have guests from out of town, I always take them to Parker's Lighthouse . . . and everyone always loves it."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "This restaurant is just excellent, an oasis in a dessert. The clams were the best I have ever had, the mahi mahi was superb - succulent and moist and so flavorful. The filet was one of the best my husband has experienced. We have loved creme brûlée for years but this is definitely the best by far. The only disappointment was the oysters Rockefeller that had a thick cheesy sauce burying the oysters - a bad mistake that I didn't catch in the menu."

  • "Enjoyed the view of Queen Mary and Harbor . Service was very good, good wine list. Food was good not great. Food was a little on the expensive side but not inordinately so. Desert menu was very good as was the coffee. We were seated promptly. Waiter was attentive outdoor balcony overlooking harbor."
