Diner Reviews
  • "We got caught in holiday weekend traffic. I called to let them know, and they were completely accomodating by holding the table for an extra half hour. Once we arrived we were seated at a wonderful table when our guest informed us of his issue with air conditioning, so we asked to sit outside. They immediately set up a table for us outside. I haven't experienced his type of service recently, it was greatly appreciated and they definitely need to be commended for their over the top service. I had tried to make a reservation at my favorite restaurant by calling the manager and explainig the importance of my evening guest but was blown off by the manager Just as well as I know they would not have held the reservation."

  • "The ambiance was excellent as was the food and the view. Our waiter was attentive and knew when not to interrupt our conversation. The yellow tail and ahi entrees are excellent. Definitely will go back to Parker's Lighthouse."

  • "We can always count on wonderful food, gracious service and most of all spectacular setting! Whether it's a casual lunch with friends or a romantic evening, Parker's never disappoints. The menu is continually being revised so there is always something new to try. A real gem!"

  • "We had a terrible experience at this venue. My boss and I were entertaining a client and the food was terrible -- her steak was overcooked, they brought me the wrong fish & had to take it back to the kitchen and they didn't cook my boss' fish enough. When they did bring out his new plate it appeared they had just thrown his original piece back on the grill - it even had bite marks from where he tried it. Our waitress let the manager know about the bad dishes and all he did was apologize - didn't take $1 off the bill. So we spent $230 for 3 dinners that were all terrible. I would not return and if i had not been in front of a guest i would have demanded our money back."

  • "The title says it all..... + the view is also great. The parking can get filled on a weekend. Hint, use the valet parking, you don't loss a cent + you get a parking space. We enjoyed dinner out with out of town guests so we went back for a late lunch the following day.....I think that says it all."

  • "The service was outstanding! Seymour was a great waiter! Arrived on time for our reservation and was seated promptly. The food was very good and the main dishes were delivered well cooked and hot. Great view, right on the water. I would gladly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good restraint in Long Beach"

  • "i chose Parkers' since i had been there plenty of times, and was certain i could count on them for a special evening. i was hosting Daryl Brown, son of James Brown, and his publicist, in town while on tour. find us 'some scallops and a good filet mignon' was their request, and Parkers' delivered. we also shared king crab and an appetizer sampler. all was amazing. our server Jandy (sp?) was awesome, and we had a memorable feast. thank you Parkers'!"

  • "From the initial greeting at 'The Desk' every thing was handled in a most professional way. The waiter was very knowledgeable regarding the Menu. His service also was top notch. The only complaint was the parking ticket validation - even when validated, the parking fee was still hefty !"

  • "Spent over $150 for 3 people and the Ahi Tuna and Crusted Mahi Mahi has zero. They were out of the cedar planks so the Salomon had no taste."

  • "On their web site I typed in that I would be with two birthday girls. No need to put anything in because the don't read them. My wives vegetables had way to much pepper. My steak was like chewing gum. I hope it's gets better. It use to be great. Probably will not be back"

  • "Coconut shirmp was too small. The waitress didn't wait until we finished the appetizer and served the main course. By the time, we started on the entrees, they were cold."

  • "A very nice place to take someone for a special occasion. The service and food were great. Called prior to arriving to inform restaurant it was a birthday celebration and a special desert came out with a candle after our meal. We appreciated them remembering."

  • "I took my wife to Parker ' s Lighthouse for date night. The service was excellent. They were very professional. We also enjoyed the bar on the 3rd floor which also featured some live music. To top it off the food was amazing. This is a "must do again" experience."

  • "Parker's Lighthouse is a landmark that does not disappoint. Overlooking the harbor at the edge of Shoreline Village, it is remarkably good for a restaurant that obviously attracts tourists and visitors to the Convention Center. I had a difficult time choosing from all the wonderful items on the menu. The crab-stuffed, pancetta-wrapped shrimp was absolutely delightful. We sat outside on a balmy Long Beach Friday night, and had a truly enjoyable evening."

  • "There aren't too many spots along the shore in LA County that offer a great menu, tasty dishes, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere with beautiful coastal views. My girlfriend and I had a delicious dinner there prior to a wonderful ride in the bay. Dined there on many occasions; highly recommend Parkers' Lighthouse."

  • "Decent food... Probably overpriced. Hair in the butter, wrong food arrived at the table, gave me a cup of clam chowder while I waited. Waiter seemed harried, but was a nice guy. I don't think I will return."

  • "I felt welcome and was well taken care of. We sat outside on the water. I had the clam chowder, which was excellent, and bbq pulled pork sandwich. It the greatest meal I've ever had, but wasn't bad either. Just ok."

  • "We have been going to Parker's Lighthouse for 25 years. It is a favorite. The food is always excellent, and they have a very good wine list (even if they have recently upped the prices a tad too much-- but they have a reasonable corkage fee). The view is spectacular, with all the boat traffic in and out of the harbor right outside. Service is always excellent. But watch out for the valet parking on weekends (they take up too much of the parking lot so it gets crowded) and the parking fee (restaurant validation is only for 2 hrs-- after that, you pay $1 every 10 minutes!!!!)"

  • "My first visit was a weekday evening and got there 30 minutes prior to the reservation. We were very tired having come off a boat tour. The hostess was not that friendly and said if we wanted an outdoor seat she could not seat us earlier. We waited in the bar for the entire half hour while visibly seeing lots of outdoor seating - perhaps a staff shortage? As soon as we were seated, the service was acceptable and courteous but the winner was the view and great food. We sat looking out at the Queen Mary as the sun was setting. The food was really great starting with clam chowder served piping hot. The scallops were outstanding. My guest had a huge platter of seafood that was excellent as well. I would return and recommend to friends."

  • "The view was the only nice part of the meal! All three of us got lukewarm fish plates for dinner that we sent back and they asked us if we wanted to have it reheated. We asked for new plates and the second round was barely above lukewarm. The service was very slow and there was not even an offer of free dessert for making us wait almost an hour and a half to get our food that wasn't even good. At $35 a person, not including our wine, I expected a lot more from the food and the service. Ive had bad experiences at places before but usually they do something to try to make up for it. In this case, there was nothing. So not only won't I be back again, but I will be telling all of my friends about the poor service!"

  • "This Restaurant has great seafood and fresh fish you can't find at other places. It is so nice to have dinner at sunset right on the water. The food is delicious but poor selection of desserts. Overall my wife and I liked the restaurant a lot BUT: with regards to customer service, it is ok to suggest gratuity on the bill but doesn't look nice to highlight the amount on the bill, and then highlight it AGAIN after swiping the credit card on the receipt's signature. In the end we tipped 25% but not due to the highlighting."

  • "Love to take out-of-towners to Parker's light House and sit outside on the deck. The food is always very good. The service can be hit or miss. This service was OK. But did have to ask for cocktail forks for oysters and mussel dishes when they should have come with the dishes. Overall it was a lovely early evening dining experience. My spicy shrimp and grits were great. The oysters and mussel dishes were great. When the weather is good, there is no better place for a scenic dining experience."

  • "Had a lovely experience out with my family, which includes a 13-year old young man. He found several items on the adult menu worth considering and was very happy with his choice, as the rest of the adults were. We had an indoor table and the view was lovely. Our waiter, Doug was very friendly and helpful and made the dinner fun. Also, while the title of my review is "Fun family dinner," I can definitely see how this venue would serve itself well for a romantic evening (possibly a bit later in the evening), or also a nice group dinner (I noticed a private area that would work really well for groups)."

  • "My wife and I will never return to the Lighthouse. This is the 2nd time dining there and twice we have ordered the lobster only to get this"broiled" dish undercooked and "mealy"."

  • "I specifically ask three times if the salmon was pacific or atlantic. The server told me it was pacific, I mean who in the heck would eat atlantic salmon on the west coast. Of course, it gets there and it's crappy atlantic salmon that is so dry, I needed to chase it with water. I know, you're thinking why didn't I send it back. Well, the short answer is that I was with a very big client of mine and I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable or have him eat his dinner alone whilst I waited for a replacement. So, I ate part of it. I'm pretty annoyed by the whole deal. If (as a server) you don't know whether it is pacific or Atlantic, then go ask. If you who are wondering what the difference is, pacific is wild, Atlantic is farm raised."
