We sat in a garage - was pretty different having a couple of tractors nearby at dinner. It was very hot that day - in the 90s, so a little steamy in the restaurant, but we asked to sit out there so we knew what we were getting into. Food was good and fresh, altho somewhat bland - needed to add red pepper to my seafood linguine. My wife had the pork shank that was very good, and so was my daughter's whitefish. I took my girlfriend here for a special occasion in hopes that it would deliver the romantic atmosphere and great food I had read about. It meet and greatly exceeded my expectations by far.The ambiance was superb, the food and drinks were out of this world, and for what you get, the price was very reasonable.
We both tried the specials, myself the prime rib, and my girlfriend the Antelope. Both were among the top I had ever tasted. A sweet treat at the end from their young pastry chef Allison, was a welcome surprise. She also bakes all the restaurants bread (equally unique and delicious).
Don't miss out on this one. From the spinach salad tossed at table side, the best tomato soup anywhere on earth, to the delicious Salmon plate and finally completed with a wonderful tasting berry sorbet. It so nice to find this gem of a restaurant in the Stanton area. Our waiter new the menu, had a sense of humor and was very energetic. We were are group of four, my wife and my parents, celebrating my wife's birthday. The setting is dark, they were serving antelope and if you like the outdoors you can sit next to the garden. Restaurant is more of a steakhouse. Garden dining is Italian. On this occasion my husband and I shared a shrimp cocktail and caesar salad to start. I had the filet mignon special and my husband had the stuffed pork chop. The food was good but on this occasion not spectacular. On our last visit I had the ribeye and the beet salsd both of which I love. Next time I'm going back to my favorites! After dinner its nice to take a walk through the garden and admire the lettuces, flowers, etc. I'm looking forward to my next visit!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and serviceOur first-time visit made it clear why it has such a high Zagat rating. The meals and desserts were delicious -- so tasty, that you want to eat slowly and savor your food! We had their pork chops and mixed grill (one rack of lamb bone, filet medallion, and skewered shrimp). Sharing their in-house prepared peanut butter sundae and chocolate ice cream brulee together was a scrumptious way to finish the meal. Service was excellent and friendly.
Didn't care for the retro 50s/60s interior and dark lighting, though we have heard that several others like the ambiance and especially the food/service. Denise was our server and she was very attentive and prompt. We explained that it was our first time there and she encouraged us to take a walk in the garden. We were in one of the back booths and they had a large party in the back room and it was a bit loud, but laughter is always a good thing to hear.
