Diner Reviews
  • "We go to a lot of nicer restaurants, and while I have enjoyed Park Avenue and Il Garage before, this time I really noticed how pricey it is. The food was good, with some interesting options but I'm not sure it was THAT good. I was also annoyed that they will not allow outside wine. We are happy to pay a corking fee, which is money in their pockets for doing nothing...and was somewhat irritated by this. The chef came over to say hello, he probably should have stayed in the kitchen if that was his effort at PR. He was quite unfriendly, and as he walked away, all of us looked at each other befuddled by his coldness. The service was exceptional, the young man who waited on us was very efficient, friendly and a pleasure."

  • "Louder than Angel Stadium when Mike Trout hits a home run. Smallest gin on the rocks we have ever had and at $11.00 to boot. Polite and friendly waitress Good steak."

  • "There are 2 restaurants on this property. We originally booked the "garage", however when we arrived and were seated the noise level was too much. There was a large party of at least 15 young women who were having a a good time and it was quite loud. My husband has hearing problems, so we asked to be seated in the Park Ave facility. The hostess was very gracious and found us a table on the patio. It was a lovely, quiet setting. Our server was attentive and food was wonderful and my husband was given a dessert for his birthday. We will definitely be back and will possible try the garage on a less busy evening."

  • "We all picked the same dinner which was the special that night. We started with 2 having salad & 1 the really unique tortilla soup. The main course was a perfectly cooked filet paired with the lobster mac & cheese. We finished off with the strawberry shortcake with vanilla whipped cream & coffee. All in all an absolutely perfect meal. Our server, Bob, was attentive & fun & we appreciated his little extra touches. A walk in the garden after dinner made for a pleasant & relaxed ending to a perfect dining experience."

  • "We had the summer special Lobster Mac and filet. The filet was so tender you really did not need a knife to cut it...and it melted in your mouth! Yummy goodness. 😄"

  • "3rd & last time back! Service spotty beginning to end . Waitress was friendly until we all ordered Special & that was that! Salad (which to be full of various items) was lukewarm chopped iceberg lettuce ! Husband had the soup which was good, but luke warm. Special was Lobster (try to find any other than the scum that forms when you cook it!) Mac & Cheese in a small cup with top sprinkled with fine spicy hot breadcrumbs in a cheesy sauce-all lukewarm. Filet Mignon was dry, overcooked, also lukewarm, & so heavily doused with black pepper, it almost inedible. Strawberry shortcake was a joke! No one to complain to cause they didn't come back except to leave & pickup the check! Noise level was horrible!"

  • "I would like to Thank Park Avenue for meeting my request to eat outdoors. The Service was impeccable and the ambiance was very relaxing. I have had dinner here multiple times and each an every time i get the same phenominal service and great recomodations to dine from your hard working servers. I would gladly recommend Park Avenue to friends and family and i have sent multiple people to Park Avenue especially for dinner."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants in Orange County. It has very reasonable prices considering the excellence of the gourmet cuisine. A big plus is that they grow their own vegetables and herbs in a garden on the premises. They also have a second, even more romantic restauraunt in the back by the garden called Il Garage (seperate reservation system). We've tried most of the menu and have found everything perfect each time we've visited. Highly recommend."

  • "We ordered the filet and mac and lobster, the lobster must have gone south as there was not even a small piece in the dish. The steak was cooked to perfection and very good."

  • "We have driven by Park Ave and never seen anyone there and I don't know anyone who has gone there. Larry my husband and I wanted to go out for a date and we both wanted steak. We looked up on Open Table mobile and found Park Ave, we read the menu and decided to make reservations. I am so glad we did the food was outstanding, service was outstanding. I have food allergies and I let the waitress know and she found out that what I wanted I could eat. I am allergic to bell peppers and onions. About 75 % of restaurants hate me for this and I get attitude about this. They were fantastic and I will gladly go back as well as recommend this to my friends and family."

  • "I took my family for dinner while they were in town. My husband and I eat here regularly and have always sat indoors. This time, since it was a bit loud in the restaurant, we asked to be seated on the patio. The food was excellent! The kids enjoyed it and were still talking about it days later. They loved the "bacon and eggs" which are deviled eggs with a sweet cured bacon. The caeser was a bit too fishy but the heirloom tomato salad was perfect. Everything here is fresh from the garden and you can taste it. The prices are a bit high but so is the quality."

  • "Our order, when received had a substitution we were not aware of. We asked about the change. We were told they had run out of what we had ordered so a substitution was made without advising us. My steak, requested "medium" came very raw. The waiter took my steak and did not return with it until my wife was done with her entire dinner and I had eaten (I was hungry) my side dishes minus the steak. My steak, when returned, was over cooked burned top and bottom and was subsequently very dry. I ate the steak by itself. At no time did a manager come to our table to discuss the poorly cooked steak. Overall, the waiter was friendly but not attentive. The food was not worth the price and the restaurant was very noisy. I would not go back again."

  • "the look of the restaurant is 1960's supper club, very cool vibe, but this one is special. It has it's own on-site garden. we ate inside but the outside patio dining looked nice as well, kind of romantic. we ordered the greens appetizer, very unusual and everyone liked it. the tomato soup was the best I have ever had - outstanding! my husband had the filet, simply delicious. I had the chicken which was also very good. our guests ordered the porterhouse and the NY strip, not sure they were as happy with those choices as we were with ours. waiter did forget to tell my husband that the green beans he ordered with his steak were unavailable but otherwise really attentive service. dessert was good as well. I would recommend and we will return."

  • "Very good food, service was excellent, beautiful park and garden area. Parents of small children should get a baby sister in order to enjoy their dining experience and able other customers to enjoy theirs"

  • "Ever since my birthday bash at Park with 40 plus people 7 years ago, it's great to see Park Ave is even better. Monsour the GM does a fantastic job of keeping everything running smooth, remembers us every time even though we been a while. Food is tops and the wine list too good to choose just one. Check out the healthy herb garden that David Slay has at the back. New addition is the "Il Garage" Italian dishes to die for. We will look forward to checking that out next time, but Park is our fav. We bought some friends and asked to sit out side as it was a nice balmy night quieter if you want to talk. Prices are up there but worth it if it's a special occasion. Cheers from an Aussie."

  • "Park Ave. has become our "go to" special occasion dining restaurant. The food is constantly outstanding under the direction of owner/Chef David Slay. Who would ever expect a restaurant of this quality to be located in Stanton? But it works for us and inevitably always an enjoyable experience."

  • "This is a great place for steak and anything veggie. Their steaks are top notch, cooked perfectly. The veggies are the freshest, a lot of them coming from their own garden on the property. Their dessert menu is short but everything on it is good, a must try is their in house made ice cream, that they make daily! Comfy booths, loungy decor, it's a warm, inviting place to have dinner. Their bread basket they start the meal of with is amazing, try not to fill up on them before your food even arrives! Definitely a place worth trying."

  • "We were seated in a patio area of metal tables with kitsch lime green chairs, though comfortable, on concrete adjacent to a lawn area. Would have been okay if not for steady parade of people/wait staff coming and going to the “il Garage” a detached dining area behind patio. Food was a disappointment starting with a side salad of limp iceberg lettuce with several pieces of radicchio ridiculously priced at $9 (a $1 McDonald’s salad would have been better). I had the pork shank, a little dry, but tasty on a bed of five small roasted potato wedges (grossly over-seasoned with salt) and a very small portion of fresh green peas. At the end, waiter had to record CC info on a blank piece of paper holding flash light because computer was down."

  • "Park Ave in Stanton, Ca, unbelievable great restaurant in the middle of a working class area. Our party had tomato basil soup, mixed green salad with blue cheese, lamb, swordfish, filet, lobster mac, banana cream pie, butterscotch pot, strawberry shortcake. Entrees awesome, wine awesome, desert awesome. Not one bad bite. Beautiful garden in the back. I am impressed with how large the property is, totally closed off from busy Beach Blvd. Would be beautiful for a wedding. Didn't eat at Il Garage, but next time for sure. Ambiance is lovely."

  • "Salad first had all the worst bitter parts of lettuce, but they replaced it with an excellent one. First swordfish was not cooked completely, but they replaced it with one excellently done. Gave me desert for free. Most placed do not make that kind of effort."

  • "This was my second time here and I really don't understand all the hype about this place. The service was very slow and considering there was only one other table occupied there is really no excuse for the slowness. I ordered a glass of prosecco and upon receiving my bill found that I had been overcharged. I'd already paid and it was only a dollar overcharge I didn't make an issue of it. The food was bland and average at best. I don't think there will be a 3rd visit."
