A word from Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.

Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.

Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

Diner Reviews
  • "First visit to Park Tavern did not disappoint. Wine list was imaginative, found a Loire Cab Franc, priced well and delicious. Entrees were solidly 4 stars but the lemon chip and burrata appetizer was amazing. Incredibly imaginative blend of flavors. Service was stand out outstanding. Waiter was very helpful and attentive and water glasses never were more than half empty. Be ready for a fairly loud but energetic ambiance. Dining room was full of people enjoying themselves!"

  • "We heard good thing about this Park Tavern...the food, and service was great...will definitely come back!"

  • "Order not place, took forever to receive the food, and one of the dishes had obviously been sitting for a long time and was dried out."

  • "Enjoyed Park Tavern and the vibe, although the noise level was a bit much. Dinner was quite good, if not extraordinary. Service was excellent. Given the limited options in North Beach, Park Tavern is a welcome find."

  • "Had a great time catching up with a friend, and it was a good thing we had so much talking to do! Otherwise, we would have been annoyed at how long it took our server to get to us for a drink, and then also for food. We were probably sitting for 25 minutes before anyone took our drink order, then another 25 minutes for food. That said, love a restaurant that is still lively on a Monday night, and the food is top-notch. Scallops and sides were amazing!"

  • "Great for brunch, great a group. The avocado toast and polenta cakes are work going back for time and again."

  • "The lasting impressions was not only the food! Our waitress upon us ordering without hesitation noticed none of the items we selected had meat and so she just confirmed if we were okay with the bacon on the deviled eggs. She is obviously well versed on the menu and understanding of customers food presences and/ or allergies."

  • "Park tavern always delivers. The incredible food, impeccable service and vibrant atmosphere make this one of my absolute favorite spots in the city. Started with the deviled eggs (delish as always) and the mango-cucumber salad (new to me - amazingly light and refreshing). My friend & i split the pork chop (cooked to perfection) and had the brussel sprout side (BEST b sprouts I think I have had!). The wine options are always great and have had a great martini here too! If you have never been here, make it a date night or night out with friends. Actually a great spot for dinner or brunch! Park Tavern always does everything just right and had yet another great dining experience there."

  • "Park Tavern is a really fun place. Food was outstanding, custom cocktails were fun, server was knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. Will return as often as possible."

  • "This was the worst pork chop I have ever had. Waiter recommended medium. It was hammered. The place was really crowded so I did not have to wait for another one to maybe be done correctly. Was really looking forward to this place especially as it was my birthday."

  • "great energy to the place, especially for a Monday night. nicely decorated. our table wasn't ready when we arrived (on time) so we sat outside and had a drink while we waited. upon being seated we were told a complimentary appetizer was on its way (the Brussels Sprouts chips). a very nice gesture and the chips were outstanding. the service was attentive, but not overly aggressive. i had the bar steak and fries which was perfectly prepared to medium rare, as ordered. the fries were thin, crispy, and nicely salted. my wife had the pan seared scallops, which were outstanding. highly recommend the establishment."

  • "There wasn't anything particularly wrong with Park Tavern, it's just that there wasn't anything particularly outstanding. The food is very pricy for what it is and doesn't stand out from any place else I've eating in SF. The chicken was pretty much the best thing we had, otherwise, everything was just good. The wines by the glass are predictable and overpriced. The steak I ordered was chewy, fatty and not well flavored. We were practically ignored by the wait staff most of the night (unfilled water glasses, empty drink glasses, empty entree plates sitting there for 15 minutes). If you go, do yourself a favor, sit at the bar, order a burger and call it a day."

  • "the food was good and waitress nice, but the food all came out at VERY different times, so many of us were sitting waiting with hot > cold food until our friends got their dish."

  • "I have been here 5 times and they deliver every time. Creative, amazing food!"

  • "We love to visit Park Tavern when in SF - where we were first introduced to brussel sprout chips (who knew?), a little salty and flavored with garlic and lemon. They are addictive. We tried the lemon chips with burrata this time and while they were very good, we won't order them and the brussel sprouts in the same meal again as they have a similiar fried texture. The Demons on Horseback is a creative and tasty app - with prawns wrapped in luscious, rich lardo. Wow. The service is always good, very attentive without being intrusive. We arrived a little early and were fortunate to be seated right away. If you are in the mood for a bar with a good wibe, this is an excellent choice. Love the local neighborhood feel and will be back!"

  • "One of the best nights out! Being in the hospitality busines.. service is super important to me, food can be ok...but if service is mediocre everthing is ruined. Everyone was amazing and the food was good! Curious about beef from peru, but.... not everything has to be local."

  • "I have been to Park Tavern four times in a short period and I have not been disappointed. It accommodated a large group seamlessly, outside dining for 3, take out with special consideration for the truffled fries with egg and caviar, and last, a business interview. I was so late one reservation and they make exception. The service is great and the food is delicious. The chicken is so good. The truffled tries are amazing. I can go on and on about the place - great upbeat crowd, outstanding service, clean restroom.... and in a wonderful area."

  • "Love it all. Food, service, ambiance and presentation all deserve a ten. The ombré coffee mugs, friendly staff and delicious food for brunch and dinner are consistently lovely."

  • "Our reservations were for 2pm for Fathers Day. We were rudely informed by two people that the "kitchen closed" at 230pm. We were rushed to make our orders although it took forever for the staff to even take our orders. No one ever came by to check on us, I had to get up to find a person to ask if we could order bread and another time for salt. Waited 20 minutes for check had to ask another waiter because our original waitress did not tell us she was off shift. They acted like they could not wait to get rid of us yet they ignored us and delayed our leaving. Poor service overshadowed good food and ruined my 79 year old Dad's Father's Day brunch - this was unacceptable."

  • "Park Tavern is a great place for brunch. They have quality food! I never gone wrong with anything I've order there. Aldo awesome patio."

  • "We came here for Father's Day and the food was great. The sardine and the squash starters were both fresh, springy, and bright, and we all enjoyed them. I had the seafood stew, and it was fantastic: spicy, rich, light, salty and full of all kinds of seafood. My dish had an abundance of octopus, which happens to be my favorite. I could eat bowls and bowls of that stew. We had some problems with one of the dishes, but our server and the manager took care of everything. It's rare to see service of that level, and to know that people care so much about the overall experience. I'd go back any time, because of the quality of the food and the people who work in the restaurant."

  • "Place appears very popular for Saturday brunch. Energetic vibe. Love the decor. Wish there were more non-egg/brunch options on the menu. Great service and drinks, even the coffee!"

  • "The one standout at this place is the Marlowe burger and fries. The brussel sprouts chips (fried leaves) was OK but you can make this easily at home. I'm not a fan of burgers in general but this burger with bacon and onions was really good, moist and cooked to order. Not exactly a value meal at $15 for the burger and fries but made a fan out of me. The fries were crisp like McDonald's but not the fake fries you get at McD's. These fries were good. Carrot soup was bland, butter lettuce was unremarkable. Our kid did not like the bar steak, said it was very chewy and not tender. It's extremely noisy when the crowds hit the place after a soccer game or big event in the neighborhood. It then becomes a 4 alarm noise level. Nice server."

  • "I selected the Park Tavern for a wedding anniversary dinner based on reviews and its close proximity to the Washington Square Inn (a delightful hotel) where we were staying - big mistake! Although this may be a great place for those wanting to enjoy the active bar scene, it is not a place for a fine dining experience! We dinned at 7:00pm on a week night, and the restaurant was extremely noisy; the food was only mediocre in comparison to comparably priced restaurants where we live in the Seattle area. The service was adequate."

  • "Chose park tavern for our anniversary dinner. The service was exceptional as was there food. The restaurant is lively so this is not the place for an intimate dinner or for the hard of hearing."

  • "Bar food taken up a notch. My salmon was raw, but they brought me scallops and they were good, but then overcooked. Presentation was nice. The waitress was a little slow on the draw, but she was very nice. As a regular neighborhood person who always takes clients there, the corkage at $40 was breathtaking. Unfortunately for that and for our server to act so 'dumb' about it, this will be my last meal here spending $500 on four people at a mediocre restaurant with some good servers and some mediocre servers. You did your best on the salmon but it was still a ball of oozing sliminess which had a really strong fish odor and really curious how King salmon tastes so much like Columbia River chum salmon. Scallops overcooked with too much salt."

  • "The title says it all. Great decor and amazing food. Drinks are delicious, but not the add-30-ingredients type. You must try the deviled eggs - best I've ever had. Menu changes seasonally, so I guess I'll just keep coming back for a while! Thanks PT, for being awesome."

  • "Had friend visiting from LA and NY. Had a lovely dinner. Great service, excellent food and a nice evening. It was a bit noisy and conversation somewhat difficult."

  • "Decided to dine here, spur of the moment, on a Monday night, so no trouble getting in. We sat in the main room which was really hopping. Noise level was very high. Wish something could be done to mitigate this. Tough conversing here, which is a peeve of mine. We ordered the lovely chicken roasted with vegetables and a Dijon mustard sauce. Wonderful! We also had the baby lettuce salad with pea shoots and plenty of the delicious house french bread. A glass of wine and we were happy. I would definitely return. They've got a good thing going on!"

  • "Had a good table that was quiet and allowed for conversation without screaming. Depending on where you sit, and who you are next to, it can get pretty loud. Overall, cool vibe and great wine selection."

  • "Grab a table by the front window or outside on a nice day and you can do some great people watching. Service is typical San Francisco - just okay, slow at times, quick at times. Appetizers are good."

  • "There were too many servers attending/not attending to our table. As a party of 2 we ordered quite a few things, but were repeatedly bothered by servers to put in our order. Toward the end of the meal our bottle of wine which had more than 2 professional glass pours of wine left was emptied into our 2 glasses in order to CLEARLY rush us out of the restaurant. It was very unprofessional and neither pour was what any bartender would ever serve. The overall serving experience was just terrible and throughout the meal laughable. "

  • "the butter lettuce salads were very wilted, not pleasant to look at or to eat-leaves should have been firm, one salad was a very small portion also...the roast child and the steak were first-rate as entrees; the lamb was quite good; but the gnocchi with mushrooms were a disappointment--taste was good but they weren't gnocchi, rather noodles..so either serve gnocchi or rename the appetizer and entree; the cherry crisp was heavenly, wines excellent... it was a dark ambience and the noise level was extremely high, which made conversation difficult."

  • "The bar scene was very lively although I was there only for dinner. The food was good as was the service. We discovered brussel sprout chips. DELICIOUS!!! Make sure you try them!"

  • "We were 4 for brunch. Seated quickly, served with a smile. Baked eggs with spinach was really satisfying. Hamburger looked delish, as did the cod with hollandaise. Coffee was good, Bloody Mary was good. Fritters were good. Conversation was possible. Service was great!! All plates were empty by the end of the meal. An all around great brunch."

  • "Mentioned on the reservation that we were celebrating our 3rd anniversary. After we ordered our drinks, the server came by to tell us that the manager would comp us two mimosas, which was pretty friggin awesome. Aside from that, the service was on point and the food was amazing. Best part was that the bill didn't leave me feeling like I overpaid. "

  • "When we first walked in we instantly knew this would be a great place. Very hip/ modern and buzzing. The deviled eggs were the best I've ever eaten, the cocktail were excellent and the dinners top notch. If I lived anywhere near this place I would go all the time. Only con would be the noise level but that doesn't bother me, but it might turn some people off. Overall a must. "
