A word from Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.

Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.

Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

We were in from out of town and I am so glad I took the recommendation and booked our reservation in advance. The restaurant was crowded, but they were able to sit us at our exact reservation time....this excites me, as I hate when you have a reservation and still have to wait 15min or longer for your table. There are many things on the menu that will appeal to everyone. My friend and I couldn't decide so we ended up ordering 3 things to share. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. The service was efficient and unobtrusive. This place was lively, so expect a lot of noise and the two-tops were close together, so don't plan on having a private conversation. We were prepared for this, but something you should know when making your plans. This place was spot on.

We had been here before for brunch and decided to take some out of town guests there since it's hard to find brunch reservations in SF. The service was awful and all of the food was very mediocre. The few highlights were the avocado toast and the persimmon cottage cheese (both of which you could make at home).

I was really hoping this place would deliver. It came to me via an Open Table email about restaurants I may like - don't bother. It was overpriced for the quality of food you get. I'm not saying the food choices weren't great - even spectacular - it's just that execution of the options fell short. I REALLY WANTED those cooked shrimp wrapped in lardo to be heavenly, they weren't. I couldn't even tell there was lardo on the shrimp. The venison carpaccio plate had more beef tartare than venison carpaccio. Other items were over-cooked and our waitress was not very personable. I've been and don't need to go again.

The deviled eggs were the best anywhere. Chicken dinner excellent. Steak appetizer was just ok. Great bar area. Dinner table, even with reservations, was in an area so close to the next table that all you heard was the other diners shouting. When asked to move, was told it was the quietist area in restaurant. Having been there before, it was clearly not the case. Loved it the first time and just ok this round. Good for a drink and appetizer. Per glass wine choice could be improved. Pass on dinner given price vs noise level.

Typical bad server experience. Not that it was horrible. But our server started off nice and attentive. Then drops the ball. I hate when this happens. Just because we got our food doesn't mean "service" is over. A lot of waiter do this. They go MIA. And ours did. I needed more coffee and syrup for my super fluffy but super dry pancakes. I was starving. And my friends kept eating as I waited and waited for my syrup. Never came and waiter was no where to be found. Finally asked again. Waited and was just over my pancakes at that point. So I gave it to my husband. Disappointing experience. I would be hesitant to go back, but since my husband liked the food. I'll give it another shot.

The mouthwatering menu for brunch was only surpassed by the tastes of everything we ordered from the Mt Etta champagne cocktail to start through the baked egg and spinach dish and obviously made from scratch corned beef hash, everything was scrumptious. I don't often say this but I would definitely come back here from brunch.

The initial server, who took our drink orders and brought our drinks, essentially ignored our table after that. We had to flag down someone else after waiting about 20 minutes to put in a food order. Once we were finished, we had to seek out a server to get our check. We told that person that we basically had no server and she half-heartedly apologized for confusion.

Plus Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway were eating in the next section over, so that was a definite plus. Can they always be there?

The cooking in this restaurant is uneven. My starter- roasted cauliflower- was not warm at all, showing a lack of attention. Also, it was suateed in butter and this was not reflected on the menu. Main course was disappointing- vegetables were very lack lustre. Desserts were also pretty unexciting. I wouldn't be interested in returning here.

This is our 2nd time at this restaurant. The first time about 6 months ago was good. This time not so good. The waitress had an attitude even though it was an early evening meal so she could not be tired. I had the scallops which were good . My wife had the ribeye steak for $38.00. It was like shoe leather. It was full of grizzle and my wife spit about half of it out as un-edible. Actually a shoe would have been tastier and cheaper. We complained to the waitress and she said it was full of grizzle because it was grass fed beef. What kind of grass????, AstroTurf !!!? The manager should find a new beef supplier and waitress who could come up with abetter excuse!

I love this place. This is my third time here, but first for brunch. I had come for dinner, and could just eat off the appetizer list (which is amazing)! The fried lemons and brussel sprout chips are to die for. But, I didn't know they only served brunch until 2:30 which is a different menu. I adapted and ordered the avocado toast. I'm not into the "toast craze" but this was on another level. The seasoning made it. I also ordered the Marlowe burger, which is by far the best burger I've had out. Amazing! Plus, the wine list is great and the service was awesome. And its not pricey at all. Very reasonable for an SF top 100! I will go back every time I am in the city!

If you are looking for something other than Italian in N. Beach try Park Tavern. Consistently good and also the bar and communal table are great for a cocktail and a snack. Pretty creative menu and a good selection of meat and fish dishes. Service (this time) was below par and it wasn't that crowded so not sure what the issue was. Did see the other servers roaming around our table a lot more often than our server don't think it is indicative of the entire staff. Go here 3-4 times a year and always have a good meal and a good time.

From the initial look of the place it all looks like it's going to be a good experience. All the details quickly fall apart. The servers are going through the motions without actually paying attention to what the diners needs are. Tables being automatically cleared when meals are not finished. "Baby Lettuce Salads" made from Jumbo giant lettuce leaves that were simply torn up into "baby Lettuce leaf sizes? Overcooked fish. Desserts that were burnt on the top and raw on the inside, made with pears that were not ripe to begin with. I have dined at Park Tavern at least six times since they opened and have watched everything deteriorate into a bustling mess of pretension.

Front of house needs some polishing--rude, young hostesses who seem to favor young single "bros" without reservations vs. customers who had reservations and were ignored. Also wait staff was cold, distant and seemed bothered to service. What is with this place? Food was great, although cocktails need some tightening up.
