A word from Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.

Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.

Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

I'll keep it short. I heard this place was supposed to be amazing. The wine our waiter picked for us was fantastic. The truffle fries as well. Everything else was bland (corn/clam fritters), too salty (scallops, fries, snapper) or actually just bad (the mussels in the seafood stew had gone bad). For the price, it was disappointing, and I was a little bit embarrassed having brought my uncle who is kind of particular and kind of a foodie. With so many choices in the Bay Area, I'd be hesitant to go back unless I'm someday blessed with the resources to drop several hundred dollars on dinner on a weekly basis.

Have been here a hand-ful of times. The food is quite good. The restaurant is large and very loud. A lot of tourists and walk-ins, so not really a neighborhood home. It was so hot inside the night we went—very uncomfortable. The poor servers were already wilted and harassed even through the place had just opened. i cannot imagine what the kitchen staff was going through. Something really needs to be done about the lack of air inside.

To loud and food wasn't up to par with what we've had before. Three out of four of our entrees weren't done. Beans that were served with the pork chops weren't done either! Appetizers were the best but not worth the price of making a return to the restaurant.s

We had some of the best food ever here with a selection of appetizers and small plates. The burrata cheese with lemon chips and melon and cucumber salad were excellent. Fried clams, sardines on toast and potatoes with fresh corn and chilies were all expertly done and so flavorful. A lively atmosphere and good service combine with the excellent food to make this a perfect choice in North Beach. We will go back.

My husband and I loved the shrimp Devils on Horseback (although they weren't devilish in the sense of spicy) but the additions to the deviled eggs were too overwhelming. My red snapper with squash, accompanied by just the right amount of spicy sauce, was cooked perfectly. My husband was not as thrilled with his NY steak although it was cooked to his specifications. We had to change tables because the first one was a corner booth and the table base is so huge that there was no place to put our feet. The chairs we moved to are extremely comfortable (even though they are metal). The service was friendly and not too slow even though it was the Labor Day holiday.

I have been to Park Tavern for dinner before. At that time, I loved the food and the service was excellent. Because of the good experience, I took a group of girlfriends there for brunch and unfortunately, left disappointed. It is not an inexpensive brunch, and whilst the ingredients may have been good quality, the taste of the food did not reflect what one would expect given the price. Service was a little inattentive. I receive the wrong drink after waiting a while to order. Dead/old flowers in the restrooms. All in all, not what one would expect from Park Tavern. Whilst I may be back for dinner, they probably won't see me for brunch again soon.

The restaurant has received a number of outstanding reviews and has been on our list of restaurants to try for some time. The experience more than met our expectations. Beginning with the "signature" cocktails (which were outstanding) through after dinner coffee, the food and drinks, both as to presentation and taste, were better than we have had in some time. The deviled eggs, of course, were a hit, as was the "demons on horseback". Moreover, the service was outstanding; we waited just the right amount of time between servings and the wait staff, while always present, make us feel rushed. Very enjoyable.

Great place for brunch and reasonably priced. Pitcher of mimosa comes with a bottle of champagne and orange juice; servers continued to refill our glasses with mimosa! Our family (4 generations, from 4 months to 93 years old) gathered for a special dinner and we had a wonderful evening! Our server was incredibly attentive, providing a spoon for the baby to teethe on, checking to be sure our food was as ordered and expected and made us feel that our enjoyment was important to her. The food was just as wonderful. We enjoyed our cocktails and then shared lots of delicious starters including soft shelled crab, brussels sprout leaves, deviled eggs and a watermelon/cucumber salad. Entrees were stellar including Portuguese fish stew, steak & fries, scallops. burger and pork chop. Dessert is a must - loved the cherry crumble and bread pudding. We will return.

I was dsiappointed in the food. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't great. Our server was attentive when it was time to order, etc., but when we tried to get her attention several times for bread she just wasn't panning the room to see if her patrons might need something. We had two Birthdays and she was kind enough to bring out candles, but she brought an additional slice of cake that we did not order and she did include it on the tab. Two candles in the other cake would have been enough or the restaurant could spring for one slice. I did not pick the wine, but my friend chose one and he said the prices ranges were high. For the total we paid, I did not feel it was that great of a dining experience.

Very disappointed with Park Tavern visit August 8 for dinner. The menu was very limited. I wanted to try the lamb, but it was served with sausage. I asked if they could give me just lamb because fatty meats like sausage do not agree with me. They told me they could NOT and that I would have to pay the rate for both, even if they only served me lamb! I was really surprised at their response to my dietary needs and no suggested substitutions. The menu was really limited and no choices for kids, not even pasta. I had the pork chop instead and it was bland. The restaurant was so noisy you could barely hear each other. It was not a pleasant dining experience and I would not go back.

My boyfriend and I love going here on nights that we want to have amazing food and fantastic atmosphere. It's one of the larger restaurants in SF that feels like it's still cozy and classy and, despite being in the middle of touristy North Beach, is actually filled with lots of locals. The modern menu never disappoints, and with a view of the kitchen you get to see the amazing chefs and cooks doing their magic.

I came here for dinner on my anniversary with some friends so I didn't want to complain when I got my food. I ordered the "Bar Steak" which is supposed to be an 8oz. NY Strip steak. Instead I got two tiny cuts of meat that had been massively overcooked. You really can't call two 4oz steaks an 8oz steak! it is NOT the same thing. And this was no NY Strip. Not sure what it was but it had no flavor at all. Honestly, if I were a chef I would quit my job before I served that to a customer. And at that price? ($34). It was embarrassing.

This was my fourth time at Park Tavern, and my first real disappointment. I had the chicken (their signature dish), and it was ruined by being badly over-salted. Service was also rather inattentive. (Cocktail, appetizer, and salad all arrived at virtually the same time.) Deviled egg appetizer, as usual, was excellent, as was the salad.
