Highly recommend!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat meal in North BeachI took client to PT for a business/social dinner since they picked it from 4 others based on the menu...they love duck and the uck variations main course sold them. Our reservation was for 6:15pm on a Thursday, but our driver went the wrong direction and got ua stuck in traffic so with a quick call they held our reservation. Also, our reservation was originally for 5:30pm, but they pushed it back to 6:15pm at our request.
We arrived at 6:30pm when we asked to sit outside since it was a very nice evening at Washington Square, which they allowed and even moved us to a table with a heat lamp.
At our server's suggestion, we enjoyed several libations and starters, which were all very good as was the duck. 2 thumbs up!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHot Spot in North BeachThe Poulet Noir is a winner, but still serving with dressing. I had requested a quiet table away from the bar area. We were given a very nice (and quiet) table next to the front window....perfect. Another nice touch was the complimentary Prosecco that the restaurant delivered for our anniversary. The problem was that neither my wife nor I really like this particular drink. In addition, the timing was a bit off in that the drinks arrived while we still had our initial cocktails and just before our dinner arrived. But, it is the thought that counts! Our entrees, the salmon and the duck, were done to perfection, as was the banana split in which I allowed myself to indulge. I'd be amiss if I didn't tell you that Park Tavern has the cities best burger hands down. And if you save room for dessert, the birthday cake is phenomenal. Everything we ordered was excellent. I would recommend ordering some appetizers, even if you usually don't, as they have some unique choices, such as the brussel sprout chips.

Lindsay was our server this time, and she was friendly, efficient, and funny. The deviled eggs are amazing, even though I'm not usually a fan. And I dream about their crispy brussel sprout chips! I had the scallops which were cooke perfectly, and the table shared a couple of sides. The herbed stuffing was really good- they lost a star because they had a special side- broccoli with a bechamel sauce. The broccoli was cooked perfectly, but there really wasn't much flavor to the sauce. Lindsay noticed that we didn't eat much of it, asked us about it, and promptly removed it from our bill. We loved the appetizers and small plates -- made a 3 course meal with just them. Tops were the brussel sprout chips, roasted beets, and lamb croquets. Food was impeccable and service was outstanding. Definitely kick of the night with their cocktails!! We loved Paloma and Moscow Mule. Highly recommend the brussels sprout chips, fried baby artichoke, smoked deviled eggs, and PT fries to start. For entrees, we loved the halibut and scallops. And as if we didn't have enough (just 2 of us), we also had the cheese plate with a couple glasses of grenache AND tcho chocolate creme brulee and their version of the "it's it" which is AMAZING!! We also had a couple glasses of moscato to top off the night :) Can't wait to go back.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent FoodFour of us shared an order of the brussel I had the deviled eggs which were excellent; my husband had the venison carpaccio with steak tartare and fried bone marrow which were great, but the tartare had a flavor I didn't care for. The other person in our party had the fava bean and nettle soup which was delicious. For the entree I had the pork chop. It was the best I have ever had. My husband had the bar steak and frites which was very good, but came to the table a little too rare so he had to send it back. Our dinner companions had the halibut and scallops which were delicious. Started with the deviled eggs and brussel sprout chips, which were both delicious and must-have starters. The halibut entrée was to DIE FOR and will take me back to Park Tavern again and again. One of the best fish entrees I've ever had. Didn't order dessert because we were full but from what I could see around us, they looked incredible. The service was really top notch as well. Not in your face but just enough attention. The menu and bar description fit the bill. I didn't realize till I arrived that it was housed in the old Moose's. Great wait staff. Two starters you shouldn't miss were the Brussels sprouts and the lemon chips. Wow! Innovative, creative & way delicious. Who knew you could do such things with a lemon. Great martinis & a well-heeled wine list that is also reasonable. My meat-eating friends were very happy with their choices (pork chop and duck) and my veggie partner & I were thrilled with the gnocchi with fresh peas & asparagus. I love the design of the restaurant and the menu is very creative. The burger is a winner, along with the truffle fries and deviled eggs. I had the salmon, which was prepared perfectly medium and presented very nicely. The pork chop was also extremely tasty and done well. This is one of those places to try with a group of friends and then to bring out of town visitors. The pork chop was succulent, deliciously prepared and accompanied. Most amazing braised dino-kale (seriously) and large beans, with the scallops. Two points of constructive criticism: the lamb croquettes & sweetbread appetizer should either be reversed in name or use less of the flavorless sweetbreads; the shortcake dessert fell literally short of the rest of the meal including (stale-ish cake, too large a serving overall) though I think our server tried to warn us.
