A word from Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.

Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.

Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

This dish was so salty, I could barely eat it! And I like salty foods! You couldn't tase any other flavors. I did like the lemon chip appetizer and truffle fries. The restaurant itself had a good vibe and was packed."

Parts of our meal weren't delivered at the right time. They were very slow to attending to us. I told my friends about this place for a long time. And I've been there many times. But was very disappointed with the level of service."

The menu has some great options on it like the carrot soup and the stuffed chicken but also some items that are not that well executed like the hamburger. And the food is on the heavy side with few green vegetable options. Our biggest issue is the noise. Seems to be hitting decibel levels comparable to some of the most noisy restaurants in town. Too bad more people don't take issue with excess noise in restaurants. For me and my wife it is a turn-off and we stay away. If more people felt the same maybe restaurants would tone it down."

  • "But this time, there were a couple things that were a bit annoying. The main issue was that the waitress misheard my order, duck egg sandwich and brought me a deviled egg sandwich. This would not have been a big problem, but it took quite a long time for my actual order to come out. Then, the waitress basically ignored us for the rest of our brunch. She would disappear for long periods of time. We were given a dessert to make up for the mistake, but I was already a bit annoyed. However, let me say that this place is amazing for dinner. I will always recommend it."

Highly recommend the Brussel Sprout Chips! Service was fast and easy going. My husband mentioned it was his birthday dinner and our lovely waiter brought a piece of yummy orange cake with a candle in it! Fun place, fantastic food. We'll definitely go back. Being older adults, we used the $12 valet for our car. It's too crazy to try and park around there (North Beach, Washington Square) for us oldsters. 30 years ago I'd traipse up and down those hills like a mountain goat. Not so much now. Valet fast and efficient, considering we ate during "prime time""

It was a nice day and most guests wanted to sit outside or by the window, so the interior dining area was QUIET, great for conversation without having to shout, and the service and food were excellent.   • "The staff at Park Tavern is great. Susan W., our server, is magnificent. She was there when needed and not ever an interruption to our conversation or dinner. The noise level is pretty intense, we've had lunch before and conversation is very comfortable in the afternoon. The hostess who called to confirm our reservations was marvelous. Open Table had made the reservation for two people when it was actually for four. I tried to correct this with Open Table several times to no avail. The Park Tavern reservations desk said they had nothing for four until 9pm. She checked further and made arrangements to get us in with our visiting guests at the original time of 6:30pm, Kudos to all the staff and management."

  • "I have dined many times at Park Tavern and had wonderful experiences. This time it was off kilter. We waited too long to give our drink order. We then got our appetizers arrived before the drinks. Had to send them back. When the main courses appeared, the presentation had no artistic flair. My duck was cut up a scatered on the plate. It was special occcaision and we left dissapointed. I will have second thoughts before making Park tavern my "go to" place."

If you wanted to have a special evening with a special someone, this NOT the place. No whispering "sweet nothing doings" here. It would only illicit a "Huh?" or a "What?" in response."
