A word from Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.

Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.

Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

The best thing on the menu was the PT fries. For our group, the bar steak was too salty and the Colorado lamb duo was not cooked properly.

I have been trying to go to Park Tavern for a while now so I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed. The place was very loud and the service was poor, even on a Tuesday. It took 30min to get our drinks and wine, only after asking twice. It wasn't until several other tables departed that our order was taken. The food was hit or miss. The deviled eggs and beef jerky were delicious. The lemon chips were interesting but overpowered the taste of the burrata. The entrees were nothing to rave about. My husband was very disappointed in his steak (bland, chewy and undercooked), the burger was mediocre, scallops ok; however, the chicken looked great and apparently tasted great! I can check it off my list but we won't be back.

I made a reservation which was confirmed by Open Table, but when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying closed for the day and sorry for the inconvenience. Very frustrating. Needs to be better communication between restaurant and Open Table. Could not submit this unless I answered all questions. As for #2, I answered as to what my friend who recommended it to me would have said. Since it was closed, I could not rate it from personal experience.

Loved our experience at this restaurant. We had a great table outside and enjoyed the whole San Francisco experience while sitting at our table. Our waitress was so nice and very accommodating. The menu was incredible with a large choice of many foods. This restaurant would satisfy any foodies dream!!! Very friendly staff and would go again.

Despite the pretty atmosphere and excellent service, the music was too loud to converse without raising our voices. The energetic atmosphere would make it a good spot for bachelorette parties. Brussels sprout chips and twice baked potato were very good, but everything else we got was quite over-seasoned.

The room is beautiful and the service staff was warm and friendly. The host staff seemed a bit cool but got the job done. Our server was knowledgeable and made our dinner a great experience. The deviled egg was wonderful. The Chicken was fantastic, Pork was fantastic, but the Bar Steak was dry and tough. The squash blossom was wonderful too. Desserts were fresh and delightful. We enjoyed it all and will be back.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. The only reservation about Park Tavern is the noise level; very difficult to have a conversation. The opulent (chicken) was awesome! Also great were the Brussels sprout chips and the cucumber and melon salad. That being said, everything was worth making a trip to Nrth Beach.

I read that the burger here is one of SF's best and it did not disappoint! Excellent bun--strong enough to hold the pattie, bacon and fixins. Wonderful flavor, salty, rich. Also had the fries with aioli and egg and caviar. Perfectly fried and salted. Deviled eggs were also surprisingly delicious with Bacon and a jalapeño. Also ended the evening with strawberry shortcake. Perfect ending. Wait staff were patient and accommodating and helpful!

Great ambiance, location, service, drinks, and food. I've dined here several times and have gone to the bar exclusively several times, and I've had nothing but awesome experiences when I've gone. I'll keep it short. I heard this place was supposed to be amazing. The wine our waiter picked for us was fantastic. The truffle fries as well. Everything else was bland (corn/clam fritters), too salty (scallops, fries, snapper) or actually just bad (the mussels in the seafood stew had gone bad). For the price, it was disappointing, and I was a little bit embarrassed having brought my uncle who is kind of particular and kind of a foodie. With so many choices in the Bay Area, I'd be hesitant to go back unless I'm someday blessed with the resources to drop several hundred dollars on dinner on a weekly basis.

Have been here a hand-ful of times. The food is quite good. The restaurant is large and very loud. A lot of tourists and walk-ins, so not really a neighborhood home. It was so hot inside the night we went—very uncomfortable. The poor servers were already wilted and harassed even through the place had just opened. i cannot imagine what the kitchen staff was going through. Something really needs to be done about the lack of air inside.

We had some of the best food ever here with a selection of appetizers and small plates. The burrata cheese with lemon chips and melon and cucumber salad were excellent. Fried clams, sardines on toast and potatoes with fresh corn and chilies were all expertly done and so flavorful. A lively atmosphere and good service combine with the excellent food to make this a perfect choice in North Beach. We will go back.

My husband and I loved the shrimp Devils on Horseback (although they weren't devilish in the sense of spicy) but the additions to the deviled eggs were too overwhelming. My red snapper with squash, accompanied by just the right amount of spicy sauce, was cooked perfectly. My husband was not as thrilled with his NY steak although it was cooked to his specifications. We had to change tables because the first one was a corner booth and the table base is so huge that there was no place to put our feet. The chairs we moved to are extremely comfortable (even though they are metal). The service was friendly and not too slow even though it was the Labor Day holiday.

I have been to Park Tavern for dinner before. At that time, I loved the food and the service was excellent. Because of the good experience, I took a group of girlfriends there for brunch and unfortunately, left disappointed. It is not an inexpensive brunch, and whilst the ingredients may have been good quality, the taste of the food did not reflect what one would expect given the price. Service was a little inattentive. I receive the wrong drink after waiting a while to order. Dead/old flowers in the restrooms. All in all, not what one would expect from Park Tavern. Whilst I may be back for dinner, they probably won't see me for brunch again soon.

The restaurant has received a number of outstanding reviews and has been on our list of restaurants to try for some time. The experience more than met our expectations. Beginning with the "signature" cocktails (which were outstanding) through after dinner coffee, the food and drinks, both as to presentation and taste, were better than we have had in some time. The deviled eggs, of course, were a hit, as was the "demons on horseback". Moreover, the service was outstanding; we waited just the right amount of time between servings and the wait staff, while always present, make us feel rushed. Very enjoyable.

Our family (4 generations, from 4 months to 93 years old) gathered for a special dinner and we had a wonderful evening! Our server was incredibly attentive, providing a spoon for the baby to teethe on, checking to be sure our food was as ordered and expected and made us feel that our enjoyment was important to her. The food was just as wonderful. We enjoyed our cocktails and then shared lots of delicious starters including soft shelled crab, brussels sprout leaves, deviled eggs and a watermelon/cucumber salad. Entrees were stellar including Portuguese fish stew, steak & fries, scallops. burger and pork chop. Dessert is a must - loved the cherry crumble and bread pudding. We will return.

I was dsiappointed in the food. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't great. Our server was attentive when it was time to order, etc., but when we tried to get her attention several times for bread she just wasn't panning the room to see if her patrons might need something. We had two Birthdays and she was kind enough to bring out candles, but she brought an additional slice of cake that we did not order and she did include it on the tab. Two candles in the other cake would have been enough or the restaurant could spring for one slice. I did not pick the wine, but my friend chose one and he said the prices ranges were high. For the total we paid, I did not feel it was that great of a dining experience.
