I had eaten there once previously and enjoyed it immensely. And on this second visit, the food, service and ambiance were outstanding. Our meal began with butter gem lettuce salad which was perfectly dressed; and their famous deviled eggs. This was followed by the parmesan gnocchi which was perfection! Main courses were the chicken and the halibut. Both were again outstanding. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, refilling wine and checking in to make sure everything was fine. Our waiter was extremely helpful in helping us select our appetizer and entree selections. We started out with the "Venison Carpaccio", which I would highly recommend. The crispy bits of bone marrow was such a flavorful surprise. For dinner I had the "Poulet Noir", which translates to a tender and delicious cornish game hen, with herbed stuffing & black truffle. A warning though, it is a huge dish and could be shared amongst two people. You carve the meat yourself, so it is an interactive dish, which my husband and I loved. The food was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned - there are no faults on that front. Even more impressive was the service. They were extremely attentive, but not overbearing. Menu is an upscale tavern menu with meat and seafood entrees, salads, appetizers and sides to satisfy nearly all diets. Dining area has view of kitchen providing guests with an opportunity to enjoy the preparation and variety of dishes. If you can't get a table because of short notice, try the bar. They have a waiting list, but it only took us 15 minutes to get seated (the long public table is first come first serve). The main courses are great, but my girlfriend and I also like to dine on a number of appetizers, which are all amazing: burrata w/lemon chips, carpaccio, salads, gnocchi, deviled eggs (I normally do not particularly care for these, however I love them here), etc. They also have a great wine, beer, and speciality cocktail list.
