A word from Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.

Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.

Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

  • "Appetizers were impressive. We ordered a few appetizers and split 1 entree. The truffle fries with the egg & caviar were interesting and delicious. The presentation was done well with the egg still in its shell. I was impressed. The lamb tongue had great texture, the mustard flavor complimented it well, however it was a bit too salty for me. The brussels sprout chips are delicious and cooked just right. Demons on horseback (prawns wrapped in bacon) are superb! The Wagyu beef jerky was nice to munch on the side, a little dry but not bad. The grass fed ribeye was cooked well but it was not a great cut of meat. It was rather bland and chewy. The chimichurri sauce was very flavorful and powerful, almost to cover up the bland tasting meat."

  • "I came here for brunch this weekend and really enjoyed our meal. I had a reservation so we were seated right away. The atmosphere is great and spacious - so many spots in the city are quite small and crowded. This place was nicely decorated and the service was good. I got the baked eggs. It's basically a couple of eggs baked on top a huge bed of spinach (a little too much for my taste) but the dish was still tasty. The other three people in our party all got burgers and seemed to enjoy them, although one didn't like the horseradish topping on his. But overall, good brunch spot and was happy we didn't have to wait hours for a meal."

  • "My wife and I went here on the recommendation of two friends, which means that while we didn't entirely love our experience, others have thoroughly. Ambiance was lovely, and the staff was courteous. It wasn't too busy (Thursday night), which made the (almost too much) time it took to get little things like our wine, bread, and cheese appetizer seem a bit extensive. The cheese sampler was fantastic. The bar steak was fantastic. The brussels sprouts were fine. My wife wasn't very impressed with her roasted beets and other vegetable dish she ordered, while she did enjoy her corn soup."

  • "I brought an out-of-towner because I had been wanting to go since it opened. It met all my expectations. The brussel sprout crisps were delicious. The squash blossom salad was excellent. And the scallops were to die for. We loved having a before dinner cocktail at the bar and the ambiance of the whole place. I'll look forward to going back."

  • "Four of my good friends and I had dinner at Park Tavern on Saturday, July 19th. We had a very nice table in the middle of the dining room (kitchen & bar view). The service was quite good and attentive. The food was exceptional (we all agreed). However, the noise level was off the charts. Not only was the noise from the patrons deafening, but Park Tavern added to the decibel levels by playing very loud music. My four friends and I really could not carry on a conversation before, during or after dinner. Unfortunately, the noise level alone could mean that I (we) won't be returning to Park Tavern. In your ratings options for "Noise Level" (above), I find it interesting that you would options for "quiet", "moderate", or "energetic"."

  • "Our reservation was honored by immediate seating at a perfect group round table.(One of 2) Prompt service from Susan our server. The meal was well paced, not rushed. The pork chop remains a winner. The Marlow burger...... umm. Scallops perfectly done. W4e paid the $20 corkage for some of our cellar wines they decanted for us. It was my sister's birthday. A cake surprise, cheese cake icing, perfect. We always go for gelati on the outside in North Beach."

  • "How often do you go to a restaurant and find every element about your evening to be absolutely perfect? Park Tavern fits that bill. Our server, Jeff, was exceptional. Everything out of the kitchen was superb-- the deviled eggs, salad, their signature "poulet vert", the generous pours of wine by the glass (I ordered the house red with my meal-- it paired beautifully with the chicken) and the indulgent "July birthday cake", complete with a candle. Hostess was friendly and helpful when we called to say heavy traffic was making us run late, valet staff real pros at their job. It was worth the drive from San Rafael for such a lovely evening."

  • "We've been to Park Tavern twice. First we went for brunch which was yummy & overall a good experience. The food was a tad salty, but we thought it would be nice to try dinner. Unfortunately, the food we had for dinner at our next visit was even saltier, even my husband commented on the salt level, and he regularly adds salt, sauce or spices to his meals. the portions were small -- as in my 5 year old finished his 'adult' portion of lamb and was still hungry. My scallop dinner consisted of 4 scallops-- each one the size of a quarter. Each entree we had was in the $30 range, quite expensive. I wish the food was as good as the ambiance & waitstaff so we could go back!"

  • "Walked in and the hostess took us straight to our table. Promptly asked for drink order, which I love! We ordered avocado toast to start and received it right away. Then Crispy Polenta which I cannot recommend enough!! One of the best brunch menu items I've had in a long time. Had to try the deviled eggs too, which were good, but didn't quite live up to the hype. I'd still recommend trying them though. Definitely worth it for brunch. Can't wait to try the dinner menu."

  • "The Park Tavern is a great North Beach discovery. The food & service were impecable. My husband had the lamb, which he raved about, my salmon was perfectly prepared, and our aunt had the sea scallops with special requests for no sauce and limited butter. The staff happily accommodated her with the changes. The food was beautifully presented. If there is one drawback, it is the popularity the of location and the resulting noise. It was really LOUD. but if you can deal with that, all other aspects were really terrific. Hey, it's not their fault that they're so popular! Just not a good place to go if you want to have a quiet conversation."

  • "First visit to Park Tavern did not disappoint. Wine list was imaginative, found a Loire Cab Franc, priced well and delicious. Entrees were solidly 4 stars but the lemon chip and burrata appetizer was amazing. Incredibly imaginative blend of flavors. Service was stand out outstanding. Waiter was very helpful and attentive and water glasses never were more than half empty. Be ready for a fairly loud but energetic ambiance. Dining room was full of people enjoying themselves!"

Otherwise, we would have been annoyed at how long it took our server to get to us for a drink, and then also for food. We were probably sitting for 25 minutes before anyone took our drink order, then another 25 minutes for food. That said, love a restaurant that is still lively on a Monday night, and the food is top-notch. Scallops and sides were amazing!"

Started with the deviled eggs (delish as always) and the mango-cucumber salad (new to me - amazingly light and refreshing). My friend & i split the pork chop (cooked to perfection) and had the brussel sprout side (BEST b sprouts I think I have had!). The wine options are always great and have had a great martini here too! If you have never been here, make it a date night or night out with friends. Actually a great spot for dinner or brunch! Park Tavern always does everything just right and had yet another great dining experience there."

  • "great energy to the place, especially for a Monday night. nicely decorated. our table wasn't ready when we arrived (on time) so we sat outside and had a drink while we waited. upon being seated we were told a complimentary appetizer was on its way (the Brussels Sprouts chips). a very nice gesture and the chips were outstanding. the service was attentive, but not overly aggressive. i had the bar steak and fries which was perfectly prepared to medium rare, as ordered. the fries were thin, crispy, and nicely salted. my wife had the pan seared scallops, which were outstanding. highly recommend the establishment."

The food is very pricy for what it is and doesn't stand out from any place else I've eating in SF. The chicken was pretty much the best thing we had, otherwise, everything was just good. The wines by the glass are predictable and overpriced. The steak I ordered was chewy, fatty and not well flavored. We were practically ignored by the wait staff most of the night (unfilled water glasses, empty drink glasses, empty entree plates sitting there for 15 minutes). If you go, do yourself a favor, sit at the bar, order a burger and call it a day."

  • "We love to visit Park Tavern when in SF - where we were first introduced to brussel sprout chips (who knew?), a little salty and flavored with garlic and lemon. They are addictive. We tried the lemon chips with burrata this time and while they were very good, we won't order them and the brussel sprouts in the same meal again as they have a similiar fried texture. The Demons on Horseback is a creative and tasty app - with prawns wrapped in luscious, rich lardo. Wow. The service is always good, very attentive without being intrusive. We arrived a little early and were fortunate to be seated right away. If you are in the mood for a bar with a good wibe, this is an excellent choice. Love the local neighborhood feel and will be back!"

  • "We came here for Father's Day and the food was great. The sardine and the squash starters were both fresh, springy, and bright, and we all enjoyed them. I had the seafood stew, and it was fantastic: spicy, rich, light, salty and full of all kinds of seafood. My dish had an abundance of octopus, which happens to be my favorite. I could eat bowls and bowls of that stew. We had some problems with one of the dishes, but our server and the manager took care of everything. It's rare to see service of that level, and to know that people care so much about the overall experience. I'd go back any time, because of the quality of the food and the people who work in the restaurant."

  • "Our reservations were for 2pm for Fathers Day. We were rudely informed by two people that the "kitchen closed" at 230pm. We were rushed to make our orders although it took forever for the staff to even take our orders. No one ever came by to check on us, I had to get up to find a person to ask if we could order bread and another time for salt. Waited 20 minutes for check had to ask another waiter because our original waitress did not tell us she was off shift. They acted like they could not wait to get rid of us yet they ignored us and delayed our leaving. Poor service overshadowed good food and ruined my 79 year old Dad's Father's Day brunch - this was unacceptable."
