Diner Reviews
  • "Great place for drinks and food before or after any UC event. Free shuttle to UC, but also within walking distance. Nice menu, good food and tons of craft beers on tap. Will be back next time!"

  • "My co-workers and I were looking for a nearby restaurant to have dinner and drinks after work. This place was newer so we decided to give it a try. I made reservations online for 6 people for 4:15pm. We arrived, the place was mostly empty except for a few people at the bar. There was no one to seat us in the front. Someone finally came up and seated us. The waiter that took our drink orders arrived promptly before we had all decided, we ordered water and said we wanted a minute to look over the drink menu. He never came back and asked what we wanted. Our appetizers were not bad, but only 2 of the 3 ordered showed up. Out of 6 people only one person at our table got exactly what they ordered, mine was forgotten entirely."

  • "My wife and I decided to make a night out of it. We went to eat at the Park Tavern then took in a Blackhawks game. The experience at the Park Tavern was enjoyable."

  • "We had pizza with veges. It tasted like frozen pizza that they just slapped some veges on. We asked for parmesan cheese. We were first told it would be a few minutes because they needed to grate some. Then after 10 min, and now cold pizza, we were told that they were out of cheese. Black bean soup was very good."

  • "Great location near the United Center, and even has a shuttle that will take you straight there. Reasonable prices."

  • "Don't let the neighborhood intimidate you from dining at Park Tavern. Once inside you will see a lovely modern upscale sports lounge. 2 big bars, plenty of TV's and spacious. The beer list had enough depth to impress my co-workers. The menu was typical but the results were not. Everyone loved their meals - PBR can Chicken, BBQ Ribs, Fish Tacos, Brisket and more. Kudos to the chef - each meal was a perfect blend of comfort food yet had his interpretation/inspiration to make it memorable. The locals hangout here before heading over to the stadium. We just missed the crowd so it was quiet and relaxing for us. Good atmosphere for our get to know each other dinner. This was definitely worth the trip and goes into my files for next year!"

  • "Went to see the Hawks game with 3 co-workers . The waiter we had took forever to take our order . Once taken the order the food came out pretty quick . 2 of my friends had there orders messed up . Then we asked for another round of drinks and that took another 15 minutes . Nice place ,good food , but a bad server"

  • "Great place to go before a concert or game at the United Center. Free Shuttle every 15 minutes. Food was fantastic - lots of fun different things on the menu. Went with a group of 8 and everybody went away happy. Great selection of beers. Reasonably priced. Used to go to Carmichael's before games - will go to Park Tavern from now on!!"

  • "Park Tavern was a great spot to grab a bite before heading to the United Center. I haven’t been here before and picked this place based on the great reviews. My husband was here years ago and said it was remodeled and looked really nice now. We were able to park on the street for free and take the shuttle bus to and from the United Center with no problems. The spicy calamari was very tasty and I’m still talking about how delish the foot long grilled cheese was. Our martinis were perfectly made and our waiter Chris was one of the best, making sure we were happy all night. Ill be coming back before another event. If I lived closer I would be here more often. Can’t wait to try out more of the food."

  • "This is a great place to dine before any event at the United Center. Upscale bar food at moderate prices in a large open bar style setting with mostly high top tables and huge TV screens at every angle. The selection of craft style beers appealed to my husband while I sipped a refreshing specially cocktail. There are a number of happy hour appetizer specials but you have to get there early (before 5:30) to take advantage of some of those because they are not on the regular menu. We did not use the free shuttle to the arena on this trip but what a great bonus! We will definitely be back and have already recommended Park Tavern to others."

  • "The best part of Park Tavern is the street parking and shuttle to the United Center. Two hours before the Justin Timberlake show, the place was packed, but did not have enough servers on duty. Service very slow. They should also think about updating the menu, as it has not changed for at least a couple of years."

  • "Open Table let me make a reservation for a restaurant that was not open! Our group of 6 found out the hard way when we showed up for our reservation only to find the doors locked and the lights off. Open Table needs to update their records so this doesn't happen again to other diners. I've been to Park Tavern before and have enjoyed my experiences. I'll be careful next time and call ahead!"

  • "Bar was out of two different popular light beers that my husband ordered. My son' s pizza order was incorrect. Food was good, but service was disappointing . We arrived early before the rush, so there was no reason why the server could not be more available . We enjoyed the food , but probably would not return."

  • "If you are going to a Bull's game, this place is great. Super selection of food choices, good food, free parking and they have a shuttle that will take you to and from the stadium. What you pay for parking you can get a great meal and no walking in snow and slush!!!"

  • "Went here before Bulls game. Parked at UC and walked, short walk. Food great and service outstanding, reasonably priced. Walked back to UC full, didn't have to pay high prices for average food. Will definitely do this again!"

  • "Went to Park Tavern had a gift card. It was good, food was good, nice beer selection. Server was friendly, it's a big place with two large bars. If your in that neighborhood, I would absolutely go back,"

  • "Park Tavern is a good place to stop for lunch or dinner before a game at the United Center. The location can't be beat. The food is pretty good too - a more creative pub menu. The service, however, was terrible. Someone from our table ordered a mojito - it was overly spicy (it contained jalapenos) and tasted like minty water. When we told the waiter, he replied that they weren't so good at the "fancy drinks" and maybe someone else at the table would drink it instead of her. When both our water and the bartender were asked if they carried a beer in the style of a Belgium Triple or Dubble, (they consider themselves a micro-beer restaurant), they had no idea what we were talking about and suggested a ginger beer."

  • "This spot is close enough to walk to the United Center, but if you choose, you can park here and they run a shuttle back and forth. The food is upscale pub food and a great variety. Anything from salad to sandwiches to great tacos. Fish tacos were very good as was the foot long grilled cheese. Also, they have a daily mac and cheese. They have a ton of beer on tap and mostly good hard to find ones, not your usually standards. I would say 40 taps. Great spot and you need to eat here before any concert or sporting event."

  • "$5 validated parking, a free shuttle to the united center and a happy hour and great scene for pre and post game. Definitely recommend"

  • "We ordered a pizza and it was just bad!! It was the worst version of a frozen pizza ever!! Jacks pizza is 100x better. I couldn't believe they would serve this. The only reason to go here is because of the shuttle to a game. I would rather pay $22 for parking than spend $22 here. If you are going just for a drink then its fine."

  • "Unique sandwiches that really hit the spot. Great place to grab a bite before an event at the UC. Turkey Burger was very flavorful."

  • "We had a nice, but rushed meal at Park Tavern before a Blackhawks game on 12/27. We were sent upstairs, which is always a bad sign. Like usual, we had to wait 15 minutes just to get water and menus. Once our waiter realized that he had customers upstairs he tried to help expedite things for us. But it is disappointing that you need to rush through your meal once you do get your food after having to wait for so long. The restaurant needs to make sure to take the upstairs seriously if they want to serve guests there during peak periods. The food was very good once we did get it, like usual."

  • "Great place to eat/drink before going to the United Center. You can't beat the free shuttle to the venue. The food and drinks were awesome too! All in all a great time!"

  • "Food-great taste. Service skills-none Staff-unfriendly Crowd-what you expect before a Hawks Game"

  • "I have been here before for an event at the United Center. I find it great to park across the street, have dinner and a few drinks and have the shuttle bus drop off and pick up at the United Center. My guests were very impressed that the reservation was waiting in the crowded bar and the server understood that we were to be served quickly as we had an event to attend at the United Center."

  • "Granted the first thing that happened when we sat at the bar was we accidentally spilled a beverage and broke a glass. This obviously set the tone. Our bartender/server was very unpleasant. She mocked us, never smiled, and was extremely rude. I tried my best to apologize for the spill but she didn't seem to care. I would go out of my way to avoid this place."

  • "They were unprepared for the event at the United Center. We had reservations but the hostess admitted she could not handle the amount of people there and the reservations. We had to sit in the bar area. Our server was unfamiliar with the menu. Had to ask for the server after being seated for 15 min. No silverware given. Cold food served to us. People at the bar bumping into us, spilling drinks on our table. We had heard good things about this restaurant but unfortunately will not go back. I also felt sorry for the 1 bartender there andthe berates was packed. People were not happy. Even our server said he was having a hard time."

  • "The good: Location: nice and close to the United Center and parking is available behind the restaurant. Food: We had the Angus burger and the fish and chips and they were good...nothing spectacular, but a good size portion. Transportation: Shuttle service to the United Center with a very personable driver. Hostess: very sweet and attentive - even offered to place our drink order when the server had not approached the table after a considerable amount of time. The bad: with a reservation we still had to sit at a bistro table right by the door. Service: we waited 15 minutes before our server approached the table. She started out with an attitiude, but seemed to soften somewhat after a while. Woman of very few words."
