Best Restaurants in Pearl District
We loved the food and the portion
size, Service excellent. We'll be back"

Had made a reservation for 8
people 3 days prior to date. They set up the table directly in front of the kitchen which made it horribly hot. The first course for those who ordered it came late, but what was most intolerable was the second course took longer to serve than the first course making those who had not ordered a first course wonder if they were being punished for not ordering a first course. Adding insult to injury, the waitress was rude from the start. It's a shame that the dining experience was so aweful because the food was interesting and tasty. I would only recommend this restaurant to small parties who would be there just for the food with no expectations for good service or ambiance."
Dined on 7/19/2014
Cute restaurant but very pricy for
the portions. My beef was over cooked and my guests all ordered the salmon which frankly, was bizarre. The service was good but our waiter needed a little brush up on their wine selection. Overall, I would recommend going for the cocktails and small plates."

Great meal with fresh local
ingredients. Friendly and helpful service. Great place."

Stopped in for dinner during a one
night visit to Portland. Had lamb with sauted spinach and carmalized yogurt. It was very good. Had a glass of Beckside IPA along with the meal. A little spendy, but well worth it."

Separately, our first experiences
at this eatery were lukewarm, but we wanted to give it another try, we are glad that we did. The outdoor dining area is beautifully shaded by the park trees. There was a cool breeze. Brandon our server is probably one of the best servers that I've ever experienced. His demeaner, knowledge, timing and personality made our dining experience wonderful. We gave the chef cart blanc, and we were served a wonderful selection of foods including the best beet salad in Portland as well as a delicious lamb entree. Admittidly, our first impressions were wrong and we are glad that we gave this place a second chance. Bravo!"

The menu includes both cold and
hot small plates, perfect for a variety for two people to share, as well as large plates. Several tasting menu options are available, depending on how much you want to eat. The food is locally sourced, creatively prepared and presented, and absolutely delicious. I started with a signature cocktail of sparkling wine, Campari and lemon twist lightly sweetened with lavender-infused simple syrup, and it was delightful. Every plate was delicious. Service was attentive, prompt, and informative, as each server gave a description of each new plate. Only complaint: two items were not available, but we were not informed of this until we ordered one of them."

Enjoyed our experience. Wait staff
was very attentive. Had a great citrus vodka drink and nice bottle of wine. Did not try the desserts but will next time."
Dined on 6/14/2014
Couldn't have asked for a better
place to share good conversation and great food while watching some bocce ball across the street. Our waitress was wonderful, the perfect blend of leaving us to our own devises, but also right there with a water refill. Per usual the food was excellent and the charred carrots were my favorite."
Dined on 6/5/2014
Other Portland restaurants have
introduced small plates but recent places we've tried have just not been memorable, unlike Park Kitchen. Each item Park Kitchen's chefs produced was amazing -- unique and delicious. We chose this restaurant as a place to relax on a Friday night after a busy week of work. It was right on."
Dined on 5/30/2014
Superb tasting menu is a must!
Staff is well-educated on the wine list and happy to recommend food and wine pairings. Always creative and delicious preparations of local and seasonal ingredients. "

Visited PK with a group of
visitors and we shared the chef's sampler menu. Everything was delicious from start to finish- small to large to dessert. Had great service for our party of 8. "

My wife and I went here on a
Sunday evening and initially had the place to ourselves. It is a fairly small but very clean and great restaurant. We were very surprised by how each dish came together, as all ingredients worked very well together despite sounding a little unusual. Very interesting food, fantastic drinks, great service and a fun little place to dine. Will definitely return to try more dishes, as the menu has many interesting options. "

Went with two other people. Added
third person late, but no problem. Ate outside. Great looking out at park blocks setting. Service is excellent and knowledgeable. Small are very well prepared and presented and all dishes were very good. Loved the lamb sausage, carrots, radish salad, and gin marinaded clams. House wines were excellent. I had been there before years ago and it has stayed wonderful. "

Had to have seconds on their
sliders, love the gesture for free bottled water during the e-coli outbreak"
Dined on 5/23/2014
Our party of three chose to do the
tasting menu here. Park Kitchen does a unique thing with their tasting menu in so far as if 3 people at your table order the tasting menu, you don't each just the same small portions of the same 4 or 5 dishes. Instead, if there are 3 people, they bring you about 7 or 8 different dishes "family style" so that all three of you can share and taste a bunch of different items. And they bring you three different desserts to share. Stand-outs on the mid-May menu included the lamb, the chickpea fries, and the strawberry corn cake dessert. We hadn't been to Park Kitchen in a few years, but our recent tasting menu experience has renewed our enthusiasm for the place!"

Compliments to chef Ethan Snyder
for a great meal. "
Dined on 5/21/2014
Awesome food! Loved the chickpea
fries and squash ketchup. Salads were full of tasty morsels! Everything we ordered was delicious! Be sure to try the double chocolate tart - that was absolutely amazing! Also loved the sorbet!"
Dined on 5/19/2014
We eat out a lot and this was one
of the better dinner we have had. We had a leisurely dinner, the service was great, the food was great. The Team was very attentive and very accommodating."
Dined on 5/17/2014
Well known and reviewed for
tasting menu and rightfully so based on recent experience! First timers and we will be back. Chef handled dairy allergy issues and created beautiful multi course (lost count) experience. Service was outstanding with all servers even including bar tender jointly covering table service. Prices were very reasonable given quality and portions. On the edge of Pearl in area that could use some " urban renewal" but push through any uncomfortable/sketchy feelings and go! Won't be disappointed. "
Dined on 5/11/2014
Just amazing. Every dish was a
revelation, in particular the rabbit and foie gras terrine. It was the single best thing I have ever eaten. Seriously, I almost cried at the table out of absolute happiness! Very good cocktails and relaxing atmosphere. "

Park Kitchen is my favorite
Portland restaurant, so I chose to go there for my birthday. The tasting menu is an exquisite selection perfect for sharing. Top-notch service, matching any European Michelin-starred restaurant. Our server offered half-pours of interesting wine pairings (two different ones) with each course and was spot on in her matching. We loved everything--creamy warm asparagus soup with salt cod introduced the meal and was a touch of Spring; other highlights included the smoky roasted carrot salad with goat cheese, delicate handkerchief pasta, flank steak salad with blue cheese, and smoked prawns. We spent the whole evening, savoring each bite. Make a reservation! "

Their appetizers were amazing - we
tried the chickpea fries, bread and butter (crackers were to die for), scallops and carrot cake, pork terrine sliders...they were all delicious and the chickpea fries were a must have. Our mains were really good too, but not as memorable. The beef short rib was very good. The staff is very friendly and didn't even charge us for one item that we didn't enjoy. "

A perfect restaurant for a quick
meal before heading to the theater of your choice. Happy hour menu is good until 6pm with a nice assortment of Small or Large Plate options. We decided to take a quick tour of their menu so had one of each of their five Small Plate selections. Everything was expertly prepared, artfully presented and tasted just delicious. The chickpea fries alone were extremely filling, but we still managed to polish off the additional four plates. Cocktail menu, beer selection and wine choices were all good. Plenty of wait staff, which was refreshing, and everyone pitched in to help everyone else so we felt like we were being taken care of by a real team. Highly recommended and will definitely return someday."
Dined on 4/17/2014
We ordered a variety of small and
large plates, and every one of them was exquisite! The service was likewise superb. It wasn't too noisy. We will definitely be coming back."
Dined on 4/8/2014
I've eaten very, very well here,
on numerous visits--seasonal, inventive but not gimmicky, deeply flavored food."
Dined on 4/4/2014
Noisy next to the kitchen, food
came out too quickly, the waitress seemed to be in a hurry. Food was amazing."
Dined on 3/30/2014
My husband and I ate at Park
Kitchen a few weeks ago for the first time as part of Portland Dining month. We liked every plate, every bite, especially dessert! We brought along another person to enjoy our new find while it was still the same deal.. Unfortunately, it must have been a different chef manning the kitchen. Everything (other than the chickpea fries) was underseasoned and only so-so - except the pudding cake which we all agreed was outstanding. We were all disappointed with the overall meal, but would consider returning for dessert - probably not for dinner based on the prices and inconsistency."
Dined on 3/29/2014
Came here to try the place out
during dining month. It's more than I would normally spend on my (limited) budget, but the dining month deal was too good to pass up. Food was excellent. As was the service. Definitely give them a try next time you're wandering around downtown!!"

We have only admirable compliments
for Park Kitchen. The entire staff was helpful and knowledgeable. We got the small sampler plate and gave the chef free reign to surprise us; we were not disappointed. The food was in turn, sublime, unexpected, creative and thoughtful. Many thanks and well done."
Dined on 3/28/2014
We went to Park Kitchen to order
the small plates tasting menu. It was fantastic the way they anticipated my tastes. The xarrots were delightful. The pana cotta was to die for."
Dined on 3/26/2014
We had the small and large plates.
Small plates were great! - but the large were not so good. Steelhead and short ribs were served at the same time with only a tiny plate for both. It's not an appetizing combination to begin with, but when the ribs are a bit cold and 85% fat, you don't eat them anyway. Fortunately, these were followed by wonderful desserts. It took quite a long time to get cocktails and a REALLY long time before anyone asked to take our food order. Also when the first mystery dish arrived we weren't told what it was and had to ask. On the whole, the wait staff were really nice and friendly - but service could be better."
Dined on 3/26/2014
There were three of us and we
split the Portland Dining Month menu as well as the small and large plate dining menu and we were just thrilled with the beauty and excellence of the food as well as the variety -- oh yes, and it was sooooo reasonable for such an excellent experience! My only complaint is the noise level is quite high so it was difficult to have a conversation with each other and sometimes to talk to the waiter."
Dined on 3/24/2014
The location of this restaurant
was somewhat off putting. My walk from a nearby parking area to the restaurant, at 5pm on a sunny day, was unsettling for a female walking alone. Once I got inside, the ambience of the restaurant is high end and cozy. The food was good. I tried 3 small plates, a large plate and a few house alcoholic beverages. While good, considering the cost and location I would not go back again."
Dined on 3/24/2014
We joined friends for dinner on a
Sunday evening. The service was attentive. The seating was comfortable and you could have a conversation with others at your table. We tried almost all of the small plates and loved each one. Two notables were the scallops and the flank steak salad. We had one large plate that was the beef ribs. They were tasty but had too much fat on them. Dessert was delicious. We tried the panda cotta and the date pudding. We will return."
Dined on 3/23/2014
Love this place. The cocktails are
amazing - my favorite being the Burnsidecar. I have ZERO dietary restrictions and was super excited to try the tasting menu, which did not disappoint(plated beautifully, too)! Great service and amazing food. I will be back:-)"
Dined on 3/23/2014
We tried both the small and large
plates. They were okay. The dessert was great. Staff was very nice. Could easily talk together so noice level was not too loud."
Dined on 3/22/2014
The chef attention to detail made
me feel pampered. The food was interesting, beautifully plated and I left feeling comfortably full and like I was special. The waitress took the time to answer my questions and was very specific about details of the dishes. We will definitely be back."
Dined on 3/22/2014
In an effort to avoid the insanity
of the reservation scene at the "hottest new" restaurants in Portland, we opted for a restaurant that was once hot but still considered hip and fit for a foodie. Park Kitchen was amazing! Delicious food - chickpea fries with pumpkin ketchup, lamb sausage, cauliflower ravioli, the shortribs - it was all perfection - fresh, lively, incredible flavors. The bartender was also mixing up hipster drinks. If you haven't been yet, get there and if you haven't been for awhile - go back!"
Dined on 3/13/2014
A 5 star plus
experience...excellent food, friendly and professional table attenion, lovely ambience, right on the old park blocks, thoughtful and delicious veg options and great bar!"
