The food at Park Grill is still tasty and appears well-prepared, but...unfortunately, the over-all atmosphere at this place has deteriorated badly. The noise level is horrible, perhaps because of the fact the clientele seems less-educated these days, and the restaurant looks dirty and in need of renovation. It's ironic, but I believe the prices have also increased. Disappointing.

I don't know who the old chef was - but as we were telling our server how awesome the food was, he let us knew they had a new executive chef - who clearing has made some great additions! I had the short ribs that night, which was on as a special, and I can say they were without a doubt the best short ribs I have ever had - totally cooked to perfection! This is a great location alreaady, right there in the Park (near the Bean!) but the food is definitely why I will eat here next time I am in town.

Not a destination restaurant, but good food and friendly service at a reasonable price if you're in or around Millennium Park. Weather permitting, you can eat outdoors and enjoy a nice view of the park. It's NOT quiet or particularly conversation-friendly, but some people like that.

This was my first time dining out in Chicago, so I relied on Open Table to help me find a place close to Union Station. The service was outstanding (Katherine, I think) and the wine list extensive, especially for such a moderately-sized establishment. I ate their signature burger (dee-lish :), brussel sprouts (so-so) and a quartino of Evolution wine as I took in the passers-by at Millennium Park. I'd return again. This place has a mellow, yet polished vibe, so I imagine it's a popular place for business lunches and after work.

I haven't been for a couple of years and they have changed things on the menu, and the quality of the food. Where it used to be really great, it was just OK. I can't say specifics, but taste wise everything was just OK. There were 3 of us and we said we probably would not go again.

We have been coming here for a long time and recently are getting more and more disappointed. Others have had similar experiences. The food is only average. The menu is not changing as seasonally as it used to and the service is really mediocre. Actually, the "bus boy" was much better than the waiter.

Noisy, filthy bathrooms, no place setting, silverware thrown at you, dirty table, service terrible, inside at booth. At bar, service terrible, bartenders not at all knowledgable, out of a couple wines, no munchies, had to ask twice for check, bar dirty. And since I had out of town guests for a birthday, all the worse. Used to be good, now will never go back. Food not great but good enough.

We wanted a kid-friendly place and this worked out well for that. Our waitress was very nice to our two children and the view was very nice. My big complaint was that my daughter asked if she could have meatballs on her spaghetti. When we got the bill - the kids dish was $6 - but they charged us $12 extra for the meatballs, which seemed a little extreme. My husband got the white fish - which was a little dry. I had a Cobb salad - which was very good. Probably wouldn't go back - but it's worth going at least once. Nice atmosphere being in the heart of Millenneum Park.

Took my staff to PG for lunch. Seated right away. Bread served with ? olive salad- no explanation. Menu is boring. Ordered the steak, pork chop, wgite fish, asian salad and crab Louis. Only the pork chop was deemed worthy. The rest? Ho Hum. So, go someplace else when you're done staring at yourself in the (wonderful) Bean's reflection.

The service at this restaurant was less than desirable. Once seated, we waited over 15 minutes before finally stopping a waiter to ask for water. When three of our party of 5 had finished lunch, our waiter then brought the check before everyone was finished and never even asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. The food was ok - boring and not exciting. I had a chicken cobb salad that had about 1 tablespoon of chicken on it. For such a desirable location, I expected much more out of this restaurant!

Booked a table for five, which was really for six, but close enough to feel personal. Great waiter. He did everything with subtlety, even filling water glasses and replacing a wet napkin under a drink without getting in the way of conversation. The menu was interesting, not mind-blowing. Seemed designed to please tourists, which we are not, but there were many present. Chorizo turkey burger was excellent--probably the most interesting item we ordered--and came with fries that reminded one of us of really tasty state fair fries--a plus. Among the restaurants downtown with a similar price point, I would place this one ahead of Terzo Piano, but behind The Gage, but with a better noise level than the former. Not greatly imaginative, but good.

The Park Grill is in a wonderful location, right in the heart of Millennium Park. How does such a wonderful location with a GREAT view manage to have poor service, poor food quality and the bathrooms are worse than the public bathrooms in the park. The service people seem to operate on a very slow pace with "bare" minimum. Owners need to pick it up and clean up the place...poor all the way around. Very disappointing.

We chose Park Grille for it's menu and rave reviews. We were seated on time and had a great booth tucked away from the door. The food was incredible (we both had fish, I had the whitefish and he had the tuna). We chose a bottle of wine that ended up being unavailable, but the sommelier was fantastic and recommended a spectacular bottle of Chardonnay. Everything about the dinner and ambiance was fantastic except the service. Our waiter was not attentive or professional. It took 1 hour to place our order, he never introduced himself so we still don't know his name, we had to ask for our utensils, and when we needed something he was never to be found. We would most definitely come back but avoid being seated at his tables.

The food was great. We came to celebrate our anniversary--which we have celebrated at the Park Grill for a number of years. Then we went to the symphony concert at Millennium Park. (That was fabulous). But the service was almost awful. Very slow, not responsive except for the fellow who kept filling up our water glasses. The waiter could have been (should have been!) a lot more attentive. This has been the case before as well. Oh, I think for a nice restaurant the waiterS could wear something nicer than jeans under their apron.

3 of us ordered the same crab louis salad. It was supposed to come with apples and tomatoes. Only one of us got tomatoes; the 3 of us got 1 to 3 thin slivers of apple, the rest was yellowing romaine with a good amount of crab on it. There was no bread served at our table (though other tables had it); we had to ask for it 3 times to different wait staff and waited 10-15 minutes before it arrived. Water was never refilled. Waiter was surly.

Understaffed, terrible service, impersonal waiter, when we saw her. Took 10 minutes before we got a glass of water, that was after already asking if we had a server. Once she did come, we were asked immediately for our order. Food was extremely slow to arrive. Once it did, the waitress asked how it was before we even took a bite, then disappeared again for the remainder of our meal. My water glass was empty the entire time I sat there. Very average food. The french fries were pretty gross. Tourist trap. I would NOT recommend this place.

I'm not sure if I would recommend The Park Grille or not. Everything was okay otherwise, but they were holding a private event in most of the restaurant with a few tables being used to accommodate diners with reservations. So while we were trying to enjoy the our sparkling wine and seasonal risotto, we were in the midst of minglers with name tags holding a celebratory meet-and-greet, complete with the head of the organization acting like a cheerleader, and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle giving the keynote speech. Really, this event should have been in a private room somewhere or the entire restaurant should have been closed for it. I'm not sure if I will try again to check out the ambience, but this was a disappointment.

We have eaten here many times. I have had the whitefish before but the portion seemed much smaller this time. The waiter said it is supposed to be 6 oz. but I said it looked smaller. She then brought a much larger piece, which was great although strange that the replacement was so much larger. For $24 the portion should have been larger. The beet salad was delicious.
