The hostess took our coats and seated us. Our server was with us seconds later. My mom and I decided to order 2 appetizers and a salad to split. My favorite thing we had was the sausage flatbread. It was amazing! The steak salad was also superb. I liked the flavors in the prosciutto app, but it was a bit awkward to eat. They also have a fabulous olive spread they serve with the bread. If you are looking for a nice bottle of wine, you will probably find it here. They have an extensive selection. It's perfectly situated for that and he loved the idea of the ice skating rink right along Michigan Avenue. Since we were there betwen seasons, neither the rink nor the outdoor cafe were set up, but with a little imagination, we could see it.
The food and service were great. We were there on a Monday night and it was very quiet, so the food came out fast - which was nice. I had the scallops and they were perfectly cooked. The butternut squash, kale and black lentils that came with the scallops were excellent, beautifully presented and a wonderful flavor and texture combination.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a business lunch atI had a business lunch at the Park Grill. The service and food were excellent, and I would go back. Entrees are pricey - but there are also less expensive options for lunch such as sandwiches and salads. We had wonderful, friendly, attentive service. The food was delicious and plentiful without being heavy or too filling. I had crab cakes benedict, fruit and bacon. The ambience was bright, light and fun without being too noisy. All in all I highly recommend this place. In nice weather there is plenty of seating for outdoor dining. It's located next to "the Bean" so much to see in the area. The kids were impressed and our foodie son and his friend enjoyed every bite (as we ALL did). We coincidentally dined on Wine Wednesday, where wine bottles are half off. So we enjoyed a lovely bottle of Malbec for $26. And the total check didn't kill us. The fact that this restaurant is under the park gives it an intimate, hideaway feel.
