  • "I wasn't to fond of this place. I went right before dinner time placed my order only to find out about 10 minutes later that they had run out of ribs. I chose to leave the restaurant at that point because if I has wanted a burger to begin with I would have just gone to the park plaza across the side walk. Also service was a little on the slower side."

  • "I had high hopes for this spot given location, online research, and initial impression. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The crab cake was good overall, but the cake itself was under seasoned. My trout with the seasonal risotto had the same problem. It also appeared to be trying to do too many things and appeal to too many people. It is probably a great lunch place, but at night, on a date, too many sandwiches and not enough entrees."

We had a table outside, great brunch (I had the omelette of the day and my husband the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon), a fsuper-friendly waiter and lots of fun people watching in Millenium Park."

  • "Too loud and warm inside dining room. Wait person did not understand that the soda syrup needed changing and kept bringing the kids seltzer water instead of Sprite. Slow service on food delivery but once we got it, it was good. Bathrooms not sufficient and were on the dirty side."

  • "I was dining alone (traveling for business) and sat outside. I waited at least 15 minutes before my waitress waited on me. The "bus boy" (an older gentlemen) was nice enough to bring me water and bread so that I could nibble on it while I waited. I guess I expected service to be a little better. It was quick soon after my waitress finally came and took my order. And my crab cake was delicious and the wine."

  • "The salads (in particular arugula and asparagus) and flatbreads (in particular the mushroom pizza) were actually excellent; the regular pasta (tortellini with spinach and ricotta (billed as a special) and linguine carbonara) were pedestrian. Service was attentive, but not hovering, and very friendly. The location, in Millennium Park, is very convenient to whatever sights one might want to see in downtown Chicago."

  • "You won't find anything exotic about this menu. It is standard American dining fare. The prices for sandwiches/side entrees are decent, and the restaurant is in a great location under the bean. A good place for taking visitors or diners who are not into "foodie" meals."

  • "For years, the Loop was dead in terms of restaurant offerings, other than the old standbys (Berghoff, Miller's Pub, Italian Village). The Park Grill offers a very nice alternative, with their beautiful park setting, vibrant outdoor dining, and varied menu that provides a variety of food and prices. You can grab a soda and a burger for about $15, or dine on steak and cabernet. I had a wonderful salmon over risotto and the fried calamari. Love the fact they take reservations as well. Will definitely be going back for our pre theatre/symphony dining."

  • "The waiter was no where to be seen or found after the order was placed. The appertizers and the main dishes were served 2 minutes apart with no room on the small table and the main dishs getting cold before we finished the apertizers. 2 of us order ribs but were told there are no steak knifes to cut the meet, only dull knifes. The fries arrived ice cold."

  • "The food at Park Grill is always dependably delicious. We had the mushroom spinach cheese flatbread which was actually more like a small pizza and was easier to eat and a perfect appetizer. Also the crab Louis salad and the seared scallops–-both yummy. However, 5:00 on a Thursday evening and also, I understand, Fridays from 5:00 to 7:00, is not for the noisy music-averse. It was loud, BUT, when they shut the doors to the outside patio, it was fine. The staff there is the best, very accommodating and efficient. We had our meal (and wine) in an unrushed fashion, and still made it to Orchestra Hall on foot for a 6:30 pre-concert lecture. Our advice; make reservations and you will not be disappointed. "

  • "Disappointing. Apparently the management does not like to hire adequate waitstaff for a week night. Our server apologized for ignoring us for the first 10 minutes. She stated that they had alot of 'theatre go-ers'. That's fine, I understand that. But the service did not improve at all after that wave of customers left. The dining room was 1/2 full and our server seemed to be the only one. Over 2 hrs for dinner. I am not one that wants to be rushed but really?"

  • "It took nearly 15 minutes to get someone to wait on our table - had to let the hostess. Then we get Marty who was GREAT - personable, got us food immediately and was very pleasant. The beat salad came which was excellent at first bite though it turned out a bit too sweet; then the steak (Rib eye, whopping $43) and salmon w/ risotto came. The steak was rubbery - the table shook as I was trying my best to slice into the meat, and the sauce was so strong, it stung my tongue and the roof of my mouth, you could barely taste the meat (which you would expect to be very GOOD at that price). Salmon was OK, not the best i've had either. This was second time I've had disappointing food at Park Grill - it has the best location in the city, alas."

The wait staff and kitchen were all very accommodating to our requests and everyone was happy over all. Just a bit clumsy getting us sat for dinner even with advance reservations."

This trip they were out of several items (3 of the 4 steaks) and the outdoor area was still in transition from the ice skating (in late May?). Service was slow, but friendly, and the items they did have were good. All in all, this was not their best performance. "

The server was nearly running from table to table the place was so understaffed. The food was actually far better than I expected from a tourist spot. I'd consider going back when I wasn't in a hurry."

  • "I have always enjoyed the Park Grill and that's why we chose it when thinking of a place to take some out-of-town guests for brunch/lunch on Sunday. The service was terrible. We waited a good 20 minutes to a half-hour to get our drinks and then our waitress didn't come back for a long stretch of time. When we finally got our food we enjoyed it very much. Lunch took close to 3-1/2 hours because of the service. We couldn't figure out why it was so bad. While we were there someone threw a cigarette down from the bean onto the awning of the grill and there was a fire!!! It took forever for someone to come with a fire extinguisher even though everyone was yelling "Fire!" Maybe they are understaffed, but once that patio opens it will be worse!"

  • "Wonderful find for lunch under The Bean sculpture in Millennium Park. The weather wasn't quite warm enough yet to sit outside (global warming???), but the interior was quite nice. All five of us raved about the food, and the drinks, and the table service was very good. It is a little pricey, but worth the money."

  • "My daughter and I were here to celebrate her birthday. We were off to the side somewhat, and I am glad of it. Shortly after we arrived the central section filled and the noise was impressive. We shared the Crab Louis salad-it was divied for us before it got to the table-a nice touch. Her hamburger was fine, and we were both happy to see vegetables came with it, not fries. I got spinach/mushroom flatbread. Very good with a nice amount of toppings. We got cocktails. Mine was messed up, but bartender gets points for trying (what I ordered was not on the menu). Daughter was happy with her drink. Crème brulee for dessert-hers had a candle. Nice touch. Good, but wished for more vanilla. Waiter was clearly overworked. Service suffered."

  • "A good place to dine al fresco when the weather is good. Overall, our experience was not good. The waiter was surly. He seemed uninterested in taking care of us. We ordered a spring pea risotto. It was significantly undercooked and dry. It was inedible, so I told our waiter. His response was simply to take the bowl, toss it into a niche in the wall right beside the table (so I could stare at it for the rest of the evening) and made no attempt to remedy the situation. We then ordered a main course of arctic char that was reasonably OK. At the end, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, we said no, and he then tossed the bill onto the table. His body language was very poor. So, we are unlikely to go back."

  • "We took my mother in-law here to celebrate Mother's day because she wanted to walk around millenium park and have dinner "under the bean." It was a rainy afternoon so the restaurant was not busy at all, our server was very nice, but the restaurant was out of a lot of things. She was very apologetic but out of 4 people only one person was able to order their first choice meal since they were out of so many items. I was disappointed, I ordered ribs and they were kind of dry- nothing special."

  • "I had a great time for mother's day brunch at Park Grill. Only critique is that my mom ordered from the Omelette bar, and was only taken to order from their after our food had come out. By the time she came back, the rest of us were nearly finished."
