Diner Reviews
  • "The service was great. The food was very good. The atmosphere very relaxing"

  • "I got the shrimp and grits which was a wonderful combination of flavors. My husband had the filet which was as good as any steak house. Service was attentive but not hovering. Our only complaint was a party in the next room that had a very loud, very young child. They were seated in a remote corner but the yelling was still disturbing."

  • "Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you. This neighborhood restaurant has food and atmosphere that rivals the higher profile, "best" restaurants in Nashville. Thank you Park Café! We will return soon."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at Park Cafe as a stop while driving from Knoxville to Memphis. Our choice was somewhat by chance, we were looking for somewhere close to the I40 that was away from downtown. Geographically this fit the bill. It was a pleasant surprise that this was a great neighborhood restaurant, the sort of place you'd love to have around the corner from home for a friendly Friday night dinner. The service was friendly and attentive including valet parking. The food (shrimp and goat cheese grits for me, salmon and Szechuan green beans for my wife) was great. The building is a converted home so it is broken up into rooms, making for some privacy and keeping it intimate."

  • "I love Park Cafe -- consistently excellent food, good service, interesting specials, a strong menu. And the atmosphere is very conducive to conversation. It gets harder and harder to find quiet restaurants (um, that are not quiet because no one is there, meaning the food or service isn't good!) The ramble-y small rooms help. I really appreciate the old-world character of Park Cafe, attention to the details, and creation of an atmosphere that is convivial, unrushed, and warm. I've had the risotto twice, the pork chop, and last time wanted the drum special but just missed it because our waiter was too good at singing its praises to everyone (darn). The green chili mac and cheese side is, well, words cannot describe."

  • "We were visiting Nashville for 5 days and needed a nice restaurant for dinner. Park Café was recommended on Trip Advisor and also by the Concierge at The Hermitage Hotel. We loved the small rooms so it gives the feel of a small restaurant even though it is actually bigger than that. We had the Salmon, the Shrimp Grits and the Cornish Hen. All meals, including the green beans, rice etc were superb and well presented. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, including detail for my mother, who is diabetic. For dessert, we shared the Crème Brulee and the Apple Cobbler. They were also wonderful. The ONLY recommendation I would make is to get better choices of teas. We couldn't get a decaffeinated black tea."

  • "We've been going to Park Cafe for years and it still continues to be one of our favorites. Great service and great food is a simple formula but they pull it off every time."

  • "Delicious food served with just the right amount of attention from the server. Fresh , innovative menu with a friendly vibe."

  • "A consistent dining experience which nears perfection. The hallmarks of each visit are a creative, intriguing and varied menu coupled with a wait staff eager to please. A low key and comfortable environ make dining a relaxed experience while the architecture of the Park ensures that guests don't have to worry about noise levels during conversations. This cannot be said of a number of high end eateries in Nash. Just had the pork chop...amazing as always. Want a beautiful dining experience? Go to open table and search Park Cafe."

  • "We thought we'd try something new for our anniversary and heard this place was good. Well, it was good, but not great. It's a tiny little house with tables cramped next to each other, so no privacy. The food was just okay, nothing fantastic. There are a lot of amazing places to eat in Nashville and this just didn't come close to telling other's about it."

  • "I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday in September 2013... Non-stop service! I brought his gift in prior to the dinner, along with rose petals for the table and his cake PLUS they let me pick my table. The manager was very helpful and suggestive about romantic ideas for the dinner. The food was remarkable!!!! I would not only recommend this to friends, but EVERYONE! It's a nice hidden gem. Very romantic!!! I would definitely go back again... very soon! You will not be disappointed. :-)"

  • "I hosted a dinner here for an out-of-down guest and business associates. The prices were moderate, the service was great, and there was food to appeal to all tastes. While the décor is not exceptionally original, it does create a comfortable and warm setting. It was an excellent venue for this sort of event."

  • "We have a group of six that we call ourselves Six Pack and we try different restaurants once a month. One of the couples suggested Park Cafe and we decided to give it a try. We were definitely not disappointed. The food was out of this world, service excellent and the ambience was very much to our liking. I would strongly suggest going here for any occassion. We most certainly will be back."

  • "The food is good here, and it's a neighborhood friendly atmosphere. But the lighting is horrible. In the room we were in, which is straight pass the bar, the lighting is overhead and extremely dim, you cannot see what you are eating! It was the first thing we noticed when we were seated and it bothered us all through the meal. :("

  • "It was awesome! We sat at the bar before sitting at our table and that girl behind the bar works fast! The dinner was great and our server was awesome. Let me say the banana pudding was the best I've ever had. I will recommend this place for sure!"

  • "It was our first time & I can't believe we've never tried it before! The food was excellent we enjoyed the preset Valentines Day menu but can't wait to try everything! Love they offer free valet & great wine list!"

  • "I'll start by saying that I haven't been here for dinner in a couple of years, and now I remember why. The service was slow but decent. The food was bland at best. And, the price was little high for quality of food, service and scene. It's not that I wouldn't recommend Park Cafe, it's just there are so many other (better) restaurants in Nashville that I would try/recommend before here. Probably won't go back for couple more years."

  • "Haven't been to Park Café in awhile but got an early reservation Saturday after the Vanderbilt basketball game. Enjoyed the daily special shrimp bisque and the stuffed dates as appetizers. Tried the salmon and the mushroom risotto entrees and they were both delicious. This place fills up fast on the weekends but we were able to get a 5:30 pm reservation without any trouble, even as late as 2 pm. Definitely planning to come back soon!"

  • "We tried Park Cafe on a bit of a whim and, can I say, WOW. We are pretty picky when it comes to LOVING a new restaurant, but Park Cafe literally knocked it out of the park. From the ambience (it is in an old home in the Sylvan Park area - nice lighting, music, and decor) to the service to the FOOD - it was really out of this world. We began with the stuffed dates appetizer and the bread basket (OUTSTANDING). I had the cornish game hen with bacon-sauteed brussels sprouts and goat cheese grits and my fiance had the salmon dish with coconut rice and szechuan green beans. Both were truly amazing on all counts. Flavors, textures, and temperatures of the dishes were on point. Park Cafe is a must-try!"

  • "Great place to get really good food, great wine, and enjoy a great atmosphere. Our waiter did a great job of helping us pick wine and food. I had all side dishes and they were amazing but my favorite was the green chili mac and cheese. One person had the hamburger sans bun and the other had great pasta."

  • "We love Park Cafe, have been coming here before we moved to the 'hood 7 years ago. The service is always great, food wonderful, and the wines always top notch for us. Frankly, we are a bit tired of trying all the newbies when we have such great places around the corner. Go if you haven't already!"

  • "You cannot beat a restaurant that is dependable and delicious with excellent service, always. A place that no matter what night of the week or what you order it is really. good. food...not pretentious, no three green beans decoratively draped over a carrot sliver pretty food, but great food, perfectly executed and beautifully presented and positively delicious. And NOT overpriced. Pair that with unbeatable service, extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff that are very friendly, but not too friendly (no personal stories!) I'm telling you it cannot be beaten. We have eaten here for years and go for special occasions and often take friends from out of town, and we always enjoy how impressed they are with the Park Cafe."

  • "Had not been to Park Cafe in a few years. I won;t make it as long next time for sure. It was very good. Better than I had remembered. Server Ryan was totally on top of his game. Food was great. atmosphere nice and relaxing. just what the evening called for."

  • "Great food, great service, great ambience. I got the mustard crusted rack of lamb and it was delicious! My girlfriend had the Cornish gamne hen and it was great too. The oyster appetizer was okay but the oysters were very small but I guess that's what I get for ordering oysters in a landlocked state. The stuffed dates on the other hand were delicious! Definitely recommend for an anniversary or romantic dinner, or a really nice dinner to impress clients with."

From the bar to dining room, all service has been on point and enjoyable. We will be back! Thanks for another great meal!"

  • "I have always had a great experience at this restaurant and so maybe it was just an off night. The food was excellent but the service was so slow almost like they forgot we were there. Drinks weren't refilled and they forgot some of our food items and they never brought them."

  • "spectacular food. Wonderful drinks. Great wine list. Deserts to die for. My wife wanted me to bring her back for lunch the next day to have the Banana Pudding with frangelico icecream. Cannot wait to come again. Service was outstanding. I had the hangar steak and salad, my wife had the mussels and scallops. Of particular note was the tomato soup with poblano chiles. Thank you."

  • "I would like to give this restaurant a better rating. The ambience is really quite nice,; simple but lovely decor, reasonably quiet and cozy. The people are very pleasant and welcoming as well. The wait staff possibly needs better training. Everything we ordered arrived at the table, but with a lot of confusion for what dish went to which diner-clumsy. I had the scallops. They were not over-cooked but they were way too salty. However, i am really a food snob and most people would likely think it was fine. For a simple neighborhood dining place it is decent and worth a try. The 4 rating is because i think there is great potential here."
