John, our server, congratulated our grad and made her feel like the guest of honor. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Our only disappointments were that the "fried green tomatoes" were not fried and the mussels were not the best. All of the entrees were delicious. The service was prompt and good as always, but couple of items that we ordered need to corrected. Roasted Vegetable Flat Bread -- the toppings were fine but the homemade flat bread need to be corrected -- it was thick and "doughy" (not very appetizing). The Fettuccine Bolognaise ordered by my wife was not tasty -- Chef needs to see how he could make it more palatable. The Shrimp Giorgios that I ordered was good as always. I was visiting from out of state and remember it as being very good. Now I live in the Triangle area and just had not been back. The ambiance is very nice. The food was wonderful and our server was attentive without hovering. A really nice combo in a restaurant. Food was very good, waiter gave good recommendations (and de-boned a whole fish at the table quite professionally), and we could hear! While the food had great taste and flavor, it was overcooked. Both fish dishes we had were over cooked and the whole fish didn't seem fresh. Last night we wanted a special night of great food, good wine and a leisurely dinner in an outdoor, romantic atmosphere. Parizade delivered. Our waiter was perfect, just the right amount of attention, but left us alone to enjoy our conversation. His recommendations and knowledge of the menu were very helpful. We brought our own vintage wine and he generously waived the corkage fee which wasn't expensive in the first place. They even have a petite size for a dessert, just right. Our 2 hour outdoor dinner was perfect. The server was wonderful. The Greek layered salad like enjoying it in Athens. Fresh and full of flavor and excitement. Save room for desert, the banana rum on the menu is heavenly. We were there 3 hours and between the appetizers and the entrees seem to take about 45 minutes. We have eaten here before numerous times and never had such a delay of that duration. Overall, we enjoy the food here and used them to cater our wedding, so we know the food is always top knotch as it was that evening. Creative and interesting without leaving me wonder what exactly was on my plate. The Parizade salad is a delightful starter and the bananas Napoleon left us wishing we had room to eat another one.
It was quiet enough that we could enjoy each other's conversation without having to strain or shout. The restaurant itself is decorated with oddly proportioned ceiling and wall paintings featuring exaggerated nudes. Rather fun. We were disappointed that there was a TV over the bar, but, at least it wasn't loud. My special--a whole grilled fish--was superb. Others excellent dishes included grilled scallops, stuffed duck breast and a modified pasta dish for a vegetarian. The service was impeccable. Don't care for paella but since he said it was good, trusted his opinion. It was excellent as well, and loaded with fresh seafood and not too much orzo. Finished it off with a small slice of chocolate cake (not your usual chocolate cake and exceptional as well) with a glass of port. Tips: seafood is really good here, the chocolate cake and napoleans are great. Love the bar area and if there is music then it's the best place to be. The best restaurant meal we've had in a long time. Wait staff professional and appropriately attentive.
