Diner Reviews
  • "This is my fourth time at Paris 66 in the last two years. Today we came for brunch but have in the past been for lunch and dinner as well. The food was wonderful and simple. The service was very friendly but a little on the slow side. Its an adorable spot for a casual meal or special dinner."

  • "Brought two other couples with us, and had a wonderful evening together over excellent food prepared and presented perfectly. The wait staff is charming and knowledgeable. We've had brunch, lunch and dinner here and highly recommend it for each type of meal!"

  • "Paris 66 is charming. Great cocktails, had a nice pre-fix for Bastille Day but we opted for the a la cart. Server was sweet and knowledgable. You must have a crepe for dessert! It did take some time, about 3 hours. But a very authentic experience."

  • "The restaurant was crowded. The meal was not great, the mussels were minuscule, the service was terrible, the noise level on the patio was almost comical with construction vehicles and trains interrupting conversation throughout the evening."

  • "Very simple straightforward French fare done exceptionally well. Prices reasonable. Service typically French and unhurried. Something for everyone on the wine list. You will not be disappointed."

  • "There's nothing better than a restaurant that takes pride in their food & their culture. On a recommendation from a friend, we ventured to Paris 66 for a nice dinner. As with French culture we were allowed our time to make decisions on our orders, but we were checked on in necessary intervals. The food was superb! Our waiter started us out with a sample of split pea mousse, then we split an order of the Coquilles St Jacques (scallops) which were perfectly cooked. The Crevettes Provencales was a flavor explosion, so delicious. The Foie de Veau Persadille was tender and produced a clean plate. We ended with 2 espressos and creme brulee. Make sure to ask for your check as the waitstaff doesn't want to rush you out!"

  • "I was looking for an interesting restaurant that my wife and I haven't tried yet for our 15th wedding anniversary. I stumbled on Paris 66 via a review in Pittsburgh Magazine and it appeared to fit the bill. I didn't tell my wife where we were going and she was thrilled that I found a classic French Bistro here in Pittsburgh. We loved everything about our experience. The service was very good. The atmosphere was perfect, the cocktails and wine list were top notch, our dinners were really excellent and just the right proportion. I highly recommend the Bouchees a la Reine as an Hors d'oeuvre and the Crème Brule for dessert. We have already recommended Paris 66 to friends and we will most definitely return."

  • "The Msgr. took a seminarian with him who had never been there before and both said that the food and the service were excellent. Msgr. had the snails and said that they were the best he ever ate. They both had the veal and were really happy with the waiter and the food. And oh, those desserts. Keep up the good work. We will be back!"

  • "This restaurant is truly a wonderful dining experience. The decor and ambience are a touch and flavor of the city of Paris. The food is excellent from the appetizers, salads through the main course and desert. The wait staff is friendly and most accomodating. Paris 66 is a unique dining experience in the city of Pittsburgh"

  • "Decided to check out Paris 66 for brunch over the holiday weekend. Food was good, service was very poor. Had to keep reminding the waiter to refill our coffee. Other servers didn't even bother to ask to see if we want to coffee refills. My order came out wrong took it back and waited another 15 minutes for the correct order. My son didn't get all of his order had to remind the waiter. Would we go back? Yes, food was good authentically French however Service needs improvement."

  • "From the moment we entered and were greeted like old friends by the owner, our evening was fantastic. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable, the courses paced beautifully, and the food was cooked and presented perfectly. All six of us ordered different items and enjoyed every bite. Outstanding items included the soup du jour ( mushroom creme), the chef's cheese and meat plate ( WOW!!), the salad with the goat cheese baguette, the rib steak, pork loin, duck crepe, the salmon trout , the rainbow trout and the grand marnier crepe. Presenting our birthday celebrant with freshly whipped cream with candles was the crowning touch. Merci beaucoup! We will be back ."

  • "My fiancé and I finally got to Paris 66 and we were not disappointed! I loved everything about our visit, from the cute interior of the restaurant to the excellent food, both in taste (especially the sweet crepes, the quiche special and the pan au chocolat) and value (the brunch is a great deal in my book). I am very much looking forward to going back to Paris 66 for both brunch (next time with a cocktail) and dinner. If you are looking for a nice, light, delectable time than look no further than Paris 66!"

  • "wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Paris 66 was delicious. The traditional buckwheat crepe made an excellent appetizer for our table to share. The muscles were the best I've had (comparing to Meat & Potato and Park Bruges)in Pittsburgh and the Niçoise salad was tasty with the perfect amount of dressing though i would have preferred my tuna to be more rare. The service was exceptional: kind, friendly and attentive. If you are pressed for time you should go somewhere else. Plan on a 2 hour affair with drinks, appetizers, main and desert courses included. Finally, i loved the gluten free options that were available. Same is probably true for vegetarians but vegans may have more trouble."

  • "The food in this bistro is excellent--from the creamy spinach and mushroom quiche in flaky crust to the eggs benedict to crepes fro brunch to salads and incredible macarons for dessert. Pleasant atmosphere, although the restaurant's AC is challenged sometimes so it can be quite warm in summer. Fans on the outdoor porch help."

  • "Was with an out of towner - she was totally engulf in the ambience, the food and perfect service. Our friend was taken by the various selections of outstanding foods - We were their for Father's Day. the special menu was so well balanced - Try it & you will have this restaurant as one of your go to for great food and service."

  • "Paris 66 never disappoints. It is truly a Parisian cafe teleported to East Liberty in Pittsburgh. The server was attentive and knowledgeable; the crepes delicious. The only downside (a temporary one) to sitting on the porch is the construction site across the street, though this, too, will pass."

  • "Authentic french bistro food. Pretty good service. The salads were spectacular as was the enormous lamb rack. Wine by the carafe was pretty good. Just a bit pricey that is the only negative."

  • "My wife and two sons (10 and 17) went for a Sunday brunch, just prior to my oldest graduating from high school. I wanted to go somewhere special, but not pretentious and Paris 66 was perfect! The restaurant was warm and inviting and the staff were all very pleasant and thoughtful. The food was terrific too!"

  • "We sat on the covered patio, it was very nice. Construction was our view, but it is a good thing to see the neighborhood being built up. Our server was very sweet, informative and attentive. The food was very good. I was actually looking forward to taking home part of my meal for lunch the next day, but could not help myself and finished my meal during our dinner. One recommendation..... if you are not serving certain items please remove those items from your website. TO OPEN TABLE... #2 on this list does not capture everything so I just selected one that did not really fit. Please consider letting reviewers "add an option" if you will not let us submit our review without selecting an item in #2."

  • "I live in the neighborhood and eat here from time to time. I like the ambiance and the friendliness and, of course, the menu! It has a nice variety (french inspired yet continental)without being overwhelming. Both food and wine are reasonably priced. I had brought a friend from Sewickley for lunch a while ago and while making a dinner plan to include other members of her family, they decided they wanted to try Paris 66. They drove in while the rain was pouring and, despite difficulty parking, they all enjoyed themselves immensely, vowing to return! What more can I say?!"

  • "This charming neighborhood bistro could have been in the center of Paris. The regular menu as well as the specials made for a hard choice - so any sounded good. We both ended up selecting the special quiche of the day made with Brie instead of the usual Swiss Cheese. Both the crust & filling were perfectly prepared and served with a mixed salad. Service was excelent with the wait staff making sure everything was both to our liking and that special requests had been followed.Several deserts were offered, but the portion sizes of our brunch was large so we did not order any. GO !!!"

  • "Probably my 6th time dining here. Service and food quality are very high. The entree course was barely above room temperature, which was disappointing. Bar drinks are drab and pretty awful but good selection of wines, by bottle and glass."

  • "We enjoyed our meal. The staff is excellent, and dining outside on the back terrace is pleasant; it's just a shame it looks out on the Busway and railroad tracks. All the of the food was well prepared and tasty, but the Poulet Americain was very dry. Addition of a few more non-traditional French entrees would be a welcome addition as well."

  • "Lovely lunch/brunch. We were very impressed with Paris 66. Despite open table posting their lunch menu under the brunch menu link Pariss 66 were able to serve from the lunch menu when it turned out my wife could eat nothing from the brunch menu. The whole experience was so very pleasant and relaxing. We are looking forward to our next visit!"

  • "The Paris 66 Cafe is a delightful corner of Paris in Pittsburgh. Atmosphere, food and service were superb. My only complaint: they could not tell me for sure whether the veal (which was delicious) was open pasture raised or factory raised. I enjoyed it despite the guilt. We'll be back! But will skip the veal until I know. Everything was beyond excellent."
