Diner Reviews
  • "We had high hopes and walking in, the place seemed quite nice. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, but the food took quite a while to arrive. In the end, the food was just so-so. Nothing spectacular, and for the price, it should have been spectacular."

  • "Delicious authentic food! Everything we ordered was incredible. We felt like we were dining in France!"

  • "We loved the food and the service was perfect, but our table was rather too crowded. I was backed into a chair at a table behind me and we were right by a passage where waiters were coming and going near the bar. Another time, and I do look forward to another time, we would request a different location."

  • "Having dined here regularly in the past, we would go expecting it to be too busy, with exceedingly slow service. The food however, would always be great. On this last visit, we were surprised with how fast the service was. It also seemed less busy than usual, but still full. On the flip side, the food tasted pre-cooked, with less attention to detail. The meal was average."

  • "From the moment of entry you feel as if you have found the perfect little French Bistro is a Parisian neighborhood. The aroma of garlic becomes secondary once you glimpse the homemade French pastries on the counter. The service is attentive, cheerful, and authentically French. The menu is not vast, but represents a good cross section of specialities. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. The entire experience is charming. This is my fourth visit and I will return many times."

  • "Good food. One glitch in service. We had seven people at our table and one of the guests ordered a shrimp dinner that was not ready when the rest of the dinners were served. She didn't mind waiting a bit but when the server was standing and talking to other guests and not checking on the status of her dinner we had to ask her to do this...and it was ready."

  • "We had guests in from out of town, their first time. They absolutely loved the food. It was incredible. The service was great until the restaurant got busy, then it became painfully slow."

  • "Waiters speak to you in French, adding to charm of the restaurant. Food was good, not great, but the macarons are TO DIE FOR!!!!"

  • "My girlfriends and I recently had lunch at Paris 66. The service was great and we were seated right away with a reservation. We may not have needed a reservation, but I made one anyways. The food was delicious. I had the quiche of the day which consisted of smoked salmon, onion, tomato and swiss cheese. My first bite was heaven! We enjoyed ourselves very much."

  • "Waitress was welcoming, but the food was disappointing. Escargot were bland at best, salad was OK, liver was overcooked. We were expecting great, but Paris 66 did not deliver. So sad."

  • "This was our first time at Paris 66. We had a group of 5 (which would probably be close to the biggest group you could have), but the food was great and the service attentive. We will definitely be going back."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here Saturday night. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. The timing of the courses was perfect and the ambiance was cozy. The noise level can be a little loud, but we found it an opportunity for more intimate conversation."

  • "Great food, great wines and nice waiters. Scallop appetizer was superb."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at Paris 66 recently and had a wonderful experience for our first visit. Service seemed slow at first as we waited for our initial drink order, but after we actually ordered our dinner selections, the pace was just right. Our waiter was wonderful and provided us with some great wine pairings as we went through our meals. My wife and I were very pleased with our dinner selections and we split two appetizers-- a foie gras pate followed by escargot. We'll definitely return."

  • "Or waiter was personable and attentive. The quiches--the special and Lorraine--were perfect. And the mousse au chocolate was manifique!"

  • "This is a bistro so the food is good but not too fussy. You can describe it as the top tier of comfort food. The server was excellent and patient which was much appreciated as we wanted time for conversation. We drank wine by the glass and it was better than most places. There were some bottles that would have served better, but she wanted white and I wanted red."

  • "A group of us dined here on a Thursday night for a book club--The Paris Wife. The food was much better than the book, in my opinion. Our waiter was a sweetheart and very attentive. The price is worth the service, ambiance, amuse-bouche, crusty bread, fresh butter. I will be back with my husband next time! The only drawback is parking in East Liberty."

  • "I always order French onion soup when it's offered. Previously, the best I ever had was a toss up between 2 restaurants-one in Buffalo & the other in NYC. Paris 66 beats both. Service was a little slow b/c they were super busy, and it's hard to control the temperature on the patio (couple next to us not dressed for patio seating, &I was wearing a sweater, so after the propane heater was turned on, it was a bit uncomfortable), but these are minor details because the food is unparalleled. For a get together with a friend I haven't seen in a long time, this place is perfect. Last minute reservation and it was a great experience. W/ tip, $100 for 2. For big girls, metal patio chairs are sturdier than the more common wood ones so call ahead."

  • "I had the Moules-Frites with Mariniere broth. While tasty, a few Moules had some grit and the Frites were only so-so. Another minor nit was the bowl in which the Moules were served. You don't get near to the delicious broth until you reach the bottom of the bowl. Thus dipping their tasty bread into the broth is impossible until you are just about done eating, nor can one 'spoon' the broth out in the mussel shells as you eat them. My wife had their Nicoise Salad which came with a huge slab (over an inch thick) of perfectly seared tuna on top. She really liked her meal. A nice touch was that they sell individual macarons - perfect when you just want a touch of sweet at the end of your meal. Our biggest complaint is their wine prices."

  • "I love Paris 66, the staff are friendly, the food is outstanding and it is something different to try. On the other hand, it depends whom you get as a waiter. We had a girl who would bring us our order and disappear for half an hour while another, very helpful waitress would bring us drink refills and take other requests. Very cute place and would recommend it otherwise."

  • "This restaurant is a gem. The food is great and authentic, and the atmosphere is very nice. The service is good, and they don't rush you at all. I have been here for lunch and it is easy to have a conversation and there is no pressure to finish quickly. Parking is a little tricky since it's right on Penn Avenue but it is worth it."

  • "Food was outstanding. Menu options fabulous; there was so much I would have liked to try. Waiter and staff friendly and professional. Our waiter knew the menu VERY well, which was a great help being our first time visit. Will def go back! We were impressed with all of the renovations going on in East Liberty!!! Parking a bit of a challenge (but, worth it!!)... it is all parallel/meter parking, both in front and behind the restaurant. We had to circle around several times for a spot, at noon, on a Thursday. Will be sure to give ourselves a few extra minutes, next time, for parking."

  • "I have gone to this restaurant many times for lunch but never for dinner. It was a special occasion, so I booked a dinner and was equally pleased. I've always loved the decor and the feel of the restaurant. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive but not overly so. The portions were the right size so I was comfortably full but not too full. Very nice experience, recommend it."

  • "This was my third trip to Paris 66 in the last year. Overall the experience was very good but this time the food was not quite up to the level of the first two visits. The Onion Soup was excellent as usual, and my wife and I shared the cheese plate which was a nice combination of fine French cheeses. The slight let down came when the entree came out. I had ordered the Filet Mignon, which while good (I left nothing on my plate) I had definitely had better at more moderately priced restaurants. I guess you can not win them all. The ambience was great and the wait staff very knowledgeable and courteous. I will definitely be coming back but will pass on the filet."

  • "We had a very nice time for valentine's day. The food was delicious, and although it was a preset menu for that night, we sat next to a couple who dine there regularly and they raved about how good the regular menu is. We can hardly wait to go back."

  • "The food is excellent. The coffee cup was kept full. The wait staff lifely and fun. Everyone is smiling and seems happy. We went for Sunday brunch. There is a limited menu. I had the buckwheat crepes with spinach, mushrooms and bechamel sauce. My partner had a lovely quiche ( 2 large pieces which she could not finish along with a beautiful croisant."

  • "This place was on my husbands list of where he wanted to go for his birthday dinner. Loving French food of course I chose this location. Having been to France and tasted the authentic foods I can say that this place is a little piece of France in Pittsburgh. If you like French foods you must try it."
