A word from Parc
Stephen Starr's stylish addition to Rittenhouse Square pays tribute to French cafe culture, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, ideal for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. Parc recalls the chic brasseries of Paris, serving classic French fare in a charming space. Red leather banquettes topped with frosted glass provide a sense of intimacy. Details such as well-worn wooden chairs, vintage framed paintings and photos and antique brass fixtures transport guests across the Atlantic. French doors spill onto a sidewalk terrace covered by a dark red awning perfect for dining "en plein air." Reservations are not accepted for outdoor tables.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Went here for brunch with my parents, and it was amazing! The French onion soup is out of this world, and the mimosas are lovely. I had the eggs benedict, and it was a hardy and fantastic meal. I've never been to Parc for dinner, but definitely recommend it for a delicious brunch."

  • "Hate that they will not take reservations for outdoor seating. Nobody wants to sit inside when it's 80 degrees and sunny, especially when we specifically requested a table outside."

  • "Parc's food is consistently good and if you are lucky enough to get a table outdoors or better yet, by the open doors then you are immediately transported to a cafe in Paris. It doesn't get better then enjoying a fabulous meal with a good friend over looking Rittenhouse square on a beautiful Spring afternoon."

  • "Eating at Parc is like a min-vacation for me. With the great service, detailed decor, and wonderful food I always feel relaxed and energized when I leave."

  • "Slow service. We had to request our drink orders two times. The people seated next to us never got their entrees. Not what I expected."

  • "From the selection on the menu to the ambiance, Parc hits every note perfectly. The food is exactly what you would expect from a fine Parisian bistro. This was my first experience and I was hoping it would bring me back to my time in Paris. It did through a wonderful gastronomic experience. Thank you, Chris"

  • "Parc was great. We were seated right away. The food was great and their specialty drinks were delicious. Service was a little erratic, but on the whole, not bad. Ambiance was romantic. We'll go again!"

  • "Pros Great location Large nice restaurant with lots of seating Some outdoor seating making it feel "european" Nice menu Good food - saffron pasta was great. Nice desserts - chewy icecream which was interesting Beautiful decore Cons: Noisy - Couldn't really hold a conversation without yelling at each other across the table. Of course it also says the restaurant was packed which is a good sign Slow service - we had to flag our waiter down for everything, even ordering dessert. Not romantic as it is just too noisy but it is a pretty restaurant"

  • "Wow! What a great place to enjoy Valentine's Day with your partner. Since the restaurant was located right across from Rittenhouse, we took a lovely stroll through the park before dining. Once we arrived, we were promptly seated next to a large window overlooking Locust street. Our area was spacious and intimate. The waitress was wonderful with her suggestions and even refolded our napkins for us while we were in the restrooms. The food was delicious. The mac and cheese was my favorite appetizer. For my main entree I had the steak and fries. One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The deserts were also very delicious. I would recommend Parc for a romantic occasion!"

  • "This a small cafe with outstanding and authentic french food with a beautiful atmosphere and a scenic view of the park (if you sit outside). The menu is limited but the quality is outstanding. It does get very busy so reservations are a must, unless you mind waiting an hour for a table. The drinks are also delicious and refreshing. I will warn you that the food is pricey, but its worth it every once in awhile."

  • "The location is great, right next to the Rittenhouse Square Park. But the restaurant was very noisy because it was quite crowded. My biggest complaint is that the food prices were very high but the quality and portion of the food could not be justified. The service was very good, though. In conclusion, I'm happy to have gone once but I will not visit again."

  • "Parc is nice. The food is more than competent. The service is friendly and they make an effort to give you the best dining experience possible. I have eaten there twice. I was a little surprised that the menu had not changed more from early March to mid-April. The first time I dined at Parc it was quieter, but the noise is jolly and the general feel of the place cheerful. I do not think the food is extraordinary but I do think it is generally solidly good."

  • "If you are afraid to try French cuisine, push those reservation to the way-side. This reservation was made for my mother's birthday. She had never been to Parc and I had only dined there for lunch once before. The food is amazing and the service is excetional, to the point where two waiters surprised us with a sparkerler topped bowl of colorful macroons. 100% I would dine there again and recommend it to everyone I know."

  • "I love Parc, especially for lunch. Chicken Paillard, Lamb sandwich, Trout, burger...now that I think about it, I have never had a bad meal there in 10+ visits. But it's is a bit overpriced for the food - casual bistro stuff, but if you consider you are paying for the address and scenery too, it is a great value. Also, perfect spot to bring a baby or toddler - it is an interesting atmosphere and very loud...so even if you do have some crying or toddler freakouts, it kind of just blends in with the noise. My 3 year old daughter absolutely loves their mac and cheese and bread basket. Service is good and not stuffy at all - casual but professional. Fun place all in all. Great place to bring a picky eater- there is something for everyone."

  • "Very enjoyable venue, the classic French Bistro look and feel with tables and windows on Rittenhouse Square, the park. Early evening on Sunday it was quite busy and quite loud. I have found loud frequently in Philly; not sure why. Of course whom one is sitting next to has a huge effect on loud. All menu items we had were good. The beet salad was enjoyed as was radish plate. The burger and fries were done to order and good. A bit on the pricy side with menu items that can easy the total bill if that is an issue. Good fun good food good service in a great venue."

  • "Parc was a lot bigger and a lot noisier than I had expected based on info from it's website--atmosphere was not intimate--more like an Olive Garden. The duck confit was fabulous, but my husband's salmon was bland as were the sides that accompanied it. Service was good, but our party of five was seated at a table that at best, should have only seated two or three. I would go again, but only if I was with one other person and I could specifically ask when making the reservation that I be given a by a window or off to the side."

  • "The mushroom soup is wonderful. The cranberry-walnut bread is addictive. Have the chicken paillard which is so good and healthy, too. One of my fellow diners lives the lamb sandwich. Lots of lamb in great bread. You really can't go wrong on this menu."

  • "Booked this reservation hoping for a romantic evening which was a mistake. Noise level was way too high for us older folk (early 60's). We were given a seat by the window in a protected area, but it is not the place to go if you want to be able to hear what your dining partner has to say."

  • "my friend and i enjoyed an early dinner, pre-show. it was chart-topping to say the least. firstly, our waiter said 'are you ready to order, or would you like to sit and relax a few minutes?'....i mean, delightful. he was super knowledgeable and attentive. food was indescribale it was THAT good. the roasted chicken was...well, it was the best i 'd ever had. the most scrumptious chardonnay (french) ! thank you for just being you, PARC!"

  • "Like being in Paris. The food and service were outstanding! It was all very professionally done. The noise was over powering and difficult for conversations. Bistros in France are (were) not this loud. All in all, one could not ask for a better experience."

  • "We've been to Parc many times and I have enjoyed the food, the decor and the service. The food was excellent although they did not have the wine that I had selected from the wine list they offerec a nice alternative."

  • "Food and service very good, but noise level beyond loud. Cannot hear anything but a loud din. Left before dessert and coffee due to overwhelming sounds. Outside seating during spring and summer might be better suited to relaxing experience."

  • "We love Parc ... Service was a little off ... Server spilled water on the table and didn't clean it up. Server nice but at times hard to find. No bread served and we spent $$$$$ on wine, expected better."

  • "Split the warm shrimp salad. $18.50 for 4 medium (maybe U24). The shrimp were nicely cooked but dish was just overpriced. $18.50 for four shrimp - you better wow me or at least kiss me first. Daughter had Brioche French Toast with apples and hazelnut butter. Again, good but nothing special. I had Eggs Benedict. Classic and very good. Probably the best dish of the day. I had two mimosa's. Again, nothing special. No garnish, lukewarm sparkling wine. Service was best part of day. Friendly and efficient. Thank goodness we have all gotten past the introductions that were so common. I am there for food not a new friend. LOL Anyway, brunch was $85 so not cheap. It was a treat for my daughter but it was typical Starr concept restaurant fare IMHO."

  • "It wasn't raining on our parade at the Parc! We loved it! Only comment about food was hangar steak was flavorful but a bit on chewy side. Thought it was going to be more tender like flat-iron but maybe my bad for thinking that."

  • "Met a friend I hadn't seven for years. I had been here before and enjoyed the food quite a bit...The quiche Lorraine was delicious, large serving, creamy almost. Only drawback here was noise, which for brunch was okay, but not for a date night dinner. Need to be ready for ma 'scene'...and if that's ok, this is a great choice!"

  • "As I was visiting just for the weekend, many of my meals had to be strategically planned since I wanted to try EVERYTHING. A friend of mine was coming to meet me for brunch, and I wanted somewhere convenient to our hotel and in an area worth walking around. To cut to the case, I needed an amazing brunch place that took reservations and strollers weren't a hindrance. This place was perfect, and let us be seated 30 min before our actual reservation time (as it started to rain early). I'm a brunch snob and my friend is a bit of a Francophile...we were very much pleased!"
