A word from Parc
Stephen Starr's stylish addition to Rittenhouse Square pays tribute to French cafe culture, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, ideal for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. Parc recalls the chic brasseries of Paris, serving classic French fare in a charming space. Red leather banquettes topped with frosted glass provide a sense of intimacy. Details such as well-worn wooden chairs, vintage framed paintings and photos and antique brass fixtures transport guests across the Atlantic. French doors spill onto a sidewalk terrace covered by a dark red awning perfect for dining "en plein air." Reservations are not accepted for outdoor tables.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "One of my top go-to restaurants for any meal of the day: breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. Absolutely adore the french baguette (crusty on the outside, soft on the inside) and butter (which is so very fresh tasting!). Some of my favorites: moules frites (had again this morning), poached eggs and asparagus (the parmesan totally makes it), baguette provencale (french salami--need I say more?!), 1/2 roast chicken (as delightful as it appeared on the Foot Network), and beef bourguinon (i.e., melt-in-your-mouth, so-flavorful dinner). PS. Location is fantastic."

  • "Our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with great service, great drinks, and delicious food. The oysters were outstanding. The moules frites were as good as always. Couldn't ask for better. It keeps us coming back every time we're in Philly. Will definitely be back for more. Again!"

  • "Food and service is always impeccable. However on this occasion I made a reservation one month in advance and requested a specific seating section yet was not accommodated. It made our occasion a little bittersweet."

  • "Our second time here; love the ambiance, food, service, location, energy, a great spot. Yet....us OpenTable folks like to feel that our reservation means something. The place was clearly overbooked or poorly managed, and no I don't want to hang out in the bar which is packed, for over 30 minutes waiting, maybe this was an unusual night, hope so. "

  • "Parc was very busy for Easter brunch, so that may explain the so-so service we received. The manager was always quick to swing by and assist us, but it was a shame he had to do it so often. We went through several gaps of waiting around looking for a sign of our waiter. Beyond the service, the food was just okay. The chicken liver parfait was way too sweet; both the raspberry jam on top and the liver parfait itself. Even with the whole grain dijon mustard and pickled onion it was cloyingly sweet. The onion soup was decent, though there was actually too much cheese and the broth was overly salty. The frites were good, and the nicoise salad was decent. Dessert was excellent, it just took a while to arrive at our table."

  • "One of our favorites! Never disappoints. Beautiful view on Rittinhouse Square. Food always wonderful. All tables are great, but try to sit in front near windows. Love, love, love"

  • "The food was excellent and we had a great time. The only issue was our server seemed to disappear for long periods of time. We'd definitely go back."

  • "Small portions, un-attentive service, high prices, and too loud to have a romantic conversation. Having been to Paris we've experienced much better at neighborhood places like this, but hey, you're in Philly. The food was excellent, and my wife thought it was romantic, so I guess I really can't complain. Just one tip - wheelchair access is available only for very small, narrow chairs that can negotiate a tiny ramp behind the front check in counter; The only other disabled seating options are limited to the sidewalk or lower lobby by the front door - no fun in cool weather or crowded evenings."

  • "The energy in the room, delicate lighting, great food, and a tasty cocktail made it a wonderful evening. That is why we live in the city!"

  • "We chose Parc for our first meal of a weekend getaway in Philadelphia. It came highly recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and the ambience was great. Located as it is on Rittenhouse Square, Parc does feel like a pleasant detour to St. Germain des Pres in Paris. Another reason why we love our quick breaks to the City of Brotherly Love from our home near Washington."

  • "Look no further for a lovely spot to treat your college kid and friends to lunch. Walking distance to Penn on a nice day. Superb location on Rittenhouse Square. Be sure to make a reservation! Nice to sit on the sidewalk facing the park, but interior seating is also pleasant. Food is great- whether an omelette, steak/frites or French toast. Busy, bustling brasserie atmosphere but not too noisy when we were there. Fun French ambience. Prompt & attentive service. Full bar. "

  • "I reserved a table for dinner for a girlfriend of mine and our mothers for my friend's birthday. We were seated immediately, but moved to a back table after having been settled at the first table by a hostess who said she needed the tables for another party. Our new table was in the very back of the restaurant next to a door that the service people kept entering and exiting despite the sign on the door to the contrary. It was freezing outside and every couple minutes we would get a blast of cold air. We reported this to the manager and he said he would address it, but no one heeded his instruction. The waitress, while friendly, was not particularly attentive and took a long time to return to take our order and check on us. "

  • "Went here for brunch with my parents, and it was amazing! The French onion soup is out of this world, and the mimosas are lovely. I had the eggs benedict, and it was a hardy and fantastic meal. I've never been to Parc for dinner, but definitely recommend it for a delicious brunch."

  • "Whenever I am in Center City Philadelphia on business or pleasure at breakfast time, this is place I head. Always welcoming, always plenty of room, never noisy, service attentive and smiling, food excellent, prices not outrageous. Great view of Rittenhouse Park. My favoirite is eggs and soldiers (under $5!). "

  • "I took my boyfriend to Parc for our anniversary dinner. We had never been before, but have heard great things. It definitely lived up to our expectations! Food was fantastic, and the service was great. We were given a complimentary bowl of macaroons for celebrating our special day there. It was crowded when we arrived, even though our reservation was for a (horribly rainy) Tuesday evening, but the ambiance was still comfortable. "

  • "Hate that they will not take reservations for outdoor seating. Nobody wants to sit inside when it's 80 degrees and sunny, especially when we specifically requested a table outside."

  • "Parc's food is consistently good and if you are lucky enough to get a table outdoors or better yet, by the open doors then you are immediately transported to a cafe in Paris. It doesn't get better then enjoying a fabulous meal with a good friend over looking Rittenhouse square on a beautiful Spring afternoon."

  • "Eating at Parc is like a min-vacation for me. With the great service, detailed decor, and wonderful food I always feel relaxed and energized when I leave."

  • "Slow service. We had to request our drink orders two times. The people seated next to us never got their entrees. Not what I expected."

  • "From the selection on the menu to the ambiance, Parc hits every note perfectly. The food is exactly what you would expect from a fine Parisian bistro. This was my first experience and I was hoping it would bring me back to my time in Paris. It did through a wonderful gastronomic experience. Thank you, Chris"

  • "Parc was great. We were seated right away. The food was great and their specialty drinks were delicious. Service was a little erratic, but on the whole, not bad. Ambiance was romantic. We'll go again!"

  • "Pros Great location Large nice restaurant with lots of seating Some outdoor seating making it feel "european" Nice menu Good food - saffron pasta was great. Nice desserts - chewy icecream which was interesting Beautiful decore Cons: Noisy - Couldn't really hold a conversation without yelling at each other across the table. Of course it also says the restaurant was packed which is a good sign Slow service - we had to flag our waiter down for everything, even ordering dessert. Not romantic as it is just too noisy but it is a pretty restaurant"

  • "Wow! What a great place to enjoy Valentine's Day with your partner. Since the restaurant was located right across from Rittenhouse, we took a lovely stroll through the park before dining. Once we arrived, we were promptly seated next to a large window overlooking Locust street. Our area was spacious and intimate. The waitress was wonderful with her suggestions and even refolded our napkins for us while we were in the restrooms. The food was delicious. The mac and cheese was my favorite appetizer. For my main entree I had the steak and fries. One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The deserts were also very delicious. I would recommend Parc for a romantic occasion!"

  • "This a small cafe with outstanding and authentic french food with a beautiful atmosphere and a scenic view of the park (if you sit outside). The menu is limited but the quality is outstanding. It does get very busy so reservations are a must, unless you mind waiting an hour for a table. The drinks are also delicious and refreshing. I will warn you that the food is pricey, but its worth it every once in awhile."

  • "The location is great, right next to the Rittenhouse Square Park. But the restaurant was very noisy because it was quite crowded. My biggest complaint is that the food prices were very high but the quality and portion of the food could not be justified. The service was very good, though. In conclusion, I'm happy to have gone once but I will not visit again."

  • "Parc is nice. The food is more than competent. The service is friendly and they make an effort to give you the best dining experience possible. I have eaten there twice. I was a little surprised that the menu had not changed more from early March to mid-April. The first time I dined at Parc it was quieter, but the noise is jolly and the general feel of the place cheerful. I do not think the food is extraordinary but I do think it is generally solidly good."

  • "If you are afraid to try French cuisine, push those reservation to the way-side. This reservation was made for my mother's birthday. She had never been to Parc and I had only dined there for lunch once before. The food is amazing and the service is excetional, to the point where two waiters surprised us with a sparkerler topped bowl of colorful macroons. 100% I would dine there again and recommend it to everyone I know."

  • "I love Parc, especially for lunch. Chicken Paillard, Lamb sandwich, Trout, burger...now that I think about it, I have never had a bad meal there in 10+ visits. But it's is a bit overpriced for the food - casual bistro stuff, but if you consider you are paying for the address and scenery too, it is a great value. Also, perfect spot to bring a baby or toddler - it is an interesting atmosphere and very loud...so even if you do have some crying or toddler freakouts, it kind of just blends in with the noise. My 3 year old daughter absolutely loves their mac and cheese and bread basket. Service is good and not stuffy at all - casual but professional. Fun place all in all. Great place to bring a picky eater- there is something for everyone."

  • "Very enjoyable venue, the classic French Bistro look and feel with tables and windows on Rittenhouse Square, the park. Early evening on Sunday it was quite busy and quite loud. I have found loud frequently in Philly; not sure why. Of course whom one is sitting next to has a huge effect on loud. All menu items we had were good. The beet salad was enjoyed as was radish plate. The burger and fries were done to order and good. A bit on the pricy side with menu items that can easy the total bill if that is an issue. Good fun good food good service in a great venue."
