Diner Reviews
  • "Based on everything I read about the restaurant both diners were a bit disappointed. Food , while somewhat tasty, was not really authentic. Server was not attentive and never inquired about whether the food was acceptable or not. When asked if a substitute could be made for the salad was rudely told no substitutes are allowed. Not all diners like vinegar and oil'. Customer should have a choice. Bread was good but could have been much better if served with butter or olive oil at the least. Pasta fagoili was tasty but not authentic. Entrée of Veal Parm was very tasty. Specialty entrée of chicken Marcus was overdone, dry and burnt in some spots. Also tasted as the oil it was cooked had not been recently changed. Sauce was good. Desert was OK."

  • "The service was excellent, food was great, great place to celebrate a special occasion; tables are close set though."

  • "Service is Outstanding every time: not hovering, just there when you need them. Not much for" private" seating. Very friendly atmosphere and a nice location for a "West Side" really good- food and clean restaurant. ONLINE reservations a plus!"

  • "Very good specials; food and service were excellent. Our 1st time there but will definetly return."

  • "We've been to Paravicini's several times and loved the food and atmosphere. This last experience was disappointing. Our waitress was efficient, but unfriendly. Our appetizer was quite good, the bruschetta, but our meals were mediocre. My husband ordered lasagna and said it tasted pretty good, but wasn't overly impressed. I ordered rigatoni with chicken in a tomato cream sauce. It came in a large bowl, plenty of food, and looked and smelled great. The sauce was a cream sauce (no tomato), but was VERY watery... like soup. Sauce should cling to the pasta and instead it was swimming. The rigatoni was so overcooked it was falling apart. We will give Paravicini's another try, but I was really looking forward to the evening and left disappointed."

  • "We had a 5pm reservation but arrived early and there were plenty of open tables on a Saturday night. It was somewhat quiet before the rush. Food was great , arrived hot and portions were adequate. Would have liked to see more glasses of wine by the glass. We did not have desert. The side of asparagus was excellent. The Lobster bisque was tasty though small in size. Service was attentive and appropriate. Total bill with tax and tip was $92 (1 glass of wine). Would certainly return again."

  • "The noise level was intolerable. The food was only fair and the service too pushy. Specifically, the Veal Marsala did not have any Marsala sauce."

  • "Paravicinis is a reliable spot for Italian food in Old Colorado City. Prices are reasonable, portions are large and service is good."

  • "They could upgrade their wine by the glass. Nut all the rest was good."

  • "Been a longtime fan of this place ... We save it for special occasions like Bdays, guests in town, etc. They never disappoint."

  • "Food was great. Small intimate setting was nice. Only con, felt a cold breeze each time the door opened. Waitress was friendly enough."

  • "My husband and I used to frequent Paravinici's, but it is a special occasion when we visit now. This is the first visit in years that the food was just so-so, and the server seemed less than thrilled to be there. She was a tad rude, seemed annoyed with my husband's question about the menu, took his salad bowl before he was done, hovered at times, and scarce when needed."

  • "Had great meals, I enjoyed the Veal Picatta and the glass of Chianti Superior was super."

  • "Fabulous food, with outstanding service, including excellent recommendations regarding both food and wine from our server. We had a reservation, but saw people who were quoted a 45 minute to 1 hour wait at 6:30 on a Sunday evening, so reservations highly recommended. Quieter in the back room."

  • "The combo shrimp, mussles, scallops pasta dish is amazing. The Tiramisu is to die for."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants, worth the 45 minute drive. Food and service are consistently good, nice wine selection, wonderful place to enjoy a great meal with friends. The slightly noisy atmosphere reminds us of being in Italy, yet table conversation is not compromised. We always leave completely satisfied, usually having enjoyed appetizer, entree, dessert and wine."

  • "This is one of the best Italian restaurants around! Food is always amazing, almost always fantastic service and we've brought many friends who agree. Just discovered the Dr. Pepper Martini Saturday night...really good! The only two negatives are it's very loud but when we're with friends or family, it's not a huge deal. The second is when it's cold outside, if you're seated in the vicinity of the front door, keep your coats on! For some reason, that happens to us often but it doesn't keep us away. Overall, very highly recommend it! Make a reservation!"

  • "My wife and I enjoyed the food and the service when we went for lunch on a Saturday. She loved the prosciutto tortellini, and I loved the veal with sausage and peppers (can't remember the name, but it was a Paravicini's original plate). We both appreciated the attentive, friendly service, and have recommended (and will recommend) to friends."

  • "It was my friend's 21st, and it was perfect for her! Not the place if you want a place to go overboard, but great for a drink with friends, good conversation, food, and ambience."

  • "It is a great neighborhood place with lots of families and couples. There where 5 of us. We ordered the Calamari Arriabiata and the Burata and very spicy and delicious. All of our entrees were very good. The sauce for the Lasagna was bland. The house salad came out as family style and good. The wine list is extensive and out bottle of Chianti was excellent. We will return and try other pasta dishes"

  • "They were out of the wine my wife usually orders (Asti-Spumante) but the food was good as usual and we can always rely on Paravicinis for quality Italian food."

  • "Food was outstanding, the only down side is that they were very busy and packed, so even though we had reservations we had to sit in the bar dining because the other dining rooms were packed with large parties, this led to a little louder ambiance and a bit slower service then I would have liked. But the entire staff was very pleasant and helpful and the food was outstanding, we will definitely return and we will recommend to friends."

  • "We went to Paravicinis due to online reviews, as we were visitors to Colorado Springs. We were not disappointed. The food was well prepared, flavors wonderful and great presentation. They were so busy in the kitchen, yet we didn't feel like they slighted the quality. Evidently they are used to this most of the time. The options were vast as the menu included preparations for pasta, orzo and polenta with varied sauces. Also there were full meat dishes. They are knowledgable in dietary needs also - a big plus for Italian restaurants. My salmon orzo was "to die for", as it was dairy free and gluten free with a lot of flavor.. .We are tempted to drive from Denver to Colo. Spgs. just to dine here, in the future."

  • "Paravicini's in Old Colorado City at the corner of 28th Street (lots of parking in the back north side) with nice dining rooms. The menu is expansive from traditional pasta dishes and "classics" to originals by Chef Franco Pisani. We began with chianti and a large Brushetta Pomodoro (fresh Italian bread, mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Well-seasoned Fettuccini Gabriella (sauteed shrimp and scallops with garlic, basil, onions, and tomatoes in cream sauce tossed with fettuccini). Zesty Veal Giuseppe (veal scaloppini sauteed with spicy Italian sausage, onion, hot and sweet peppers, capers, olives, garlic, and olive oil) had too little pasta. Gluten free menu available."

  • "The food here is always wonderful. It's friendly to vegetarians and the staff will work with vegan customers. Everything on the menu is great. Our favorites are the fried artichoke appetizers, the lasagna, the chicken carsoni, any salmon on the menu, the pesto pasta, the spaghetti bolognese and the tiramisu."

  • "Our first time and it was WONDERFUL....we have been driving to Castle Rock as we had tried other Italian places in Colorado Springs area and they were all poor. This is truly a wonderful find and we will make this a regular place for Italian."

  • "We had reservations for Valentine's Day and despite the restaurant being extremely busy, our server was great, the wine superb and the food was surprisingly fresh and different. We will most definitely go back on a normal night to try some of the other interesting menu items. If you are looking for Olive Garden pasta, this place is not for you - however, if you are looking for new flavors and dishes, this is a must try."

  • "Almost everything about it was wonderful. The only thing I did not like was that there was not much privacy. The food was marvelous and the service was impeccable."

  • "I made a reservation without having seen the location or menu as a last minute valentines day dinner. When we got there the outside didn't look too impressive so I was a little nervous, but once inside the service was great, the food was amazing and I'm still talking about the biscotti parfait I had for desert. I'm definitely coming back"

  • "The tutte di mare was incredible. Not to heavy in the white clear sauce with an abundance of clams, mussels, shrimp, and calamari. A romantic atmosphere with intimate tables settings of 2, or 4. Very attentive wait staff and it was a pleasure to view the open kitchen, We will be back."

  • "A special occasion deserves Paravicini's! You deserve Paravicini's even without a special occasion! Bravo Paravicini's!! 5 star service, melt in your mouth delicious food in every bite, and so quaint and romantic. What's not to love ! An absolute gem. Better than I could have ever hoped for. This coming from a foodie with restaurant management background. Perfect! Thank you Franco and team."

  • "What a find!!! The ambiance was very warm and comfortable along with the warm, helpful service we received. The salmon I had with my pasta dish was a tad overcooked but still enjoyable. My wife truly enjoyed another salmon/pasta dish and the salmon was perfect. The wine selection was good and the prices reasonable. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will certainly return to enjoy another meal."

  • "Good food, good service. Tri-color pasta, salmon and fettucine alfredo were all tasty. Shrimp scampi was a little different than we're used to (risotto instead of linguine) but still yummy. Popular with the locals. Probably not the best for a quiet romantic dinner, but perfect for dinner with friends! Definitely glad we gave it a try!"

  • "The food is always terrific, the server was extremely helpful with the wine list and made us feel like we were the most important couple in the restaurant. The ambiance was great, very energetic but we could still have our own conversation without interruption. One of our favorite restaurants in Colorado Springs."

  • "This small Italian restaurant in Old Town Colorado Springs is amazing! The food here is some of the best Italian food I have tried, they have a great menu selection and the staff was very helpful. It was pretty busy so I would recommend reservations."

  • "The stock used in the lobster bisque was weak and the foam was a bit out dated and detracted, rather than enhanced the dish. However, the Veal Scaopini was delicious and well prepared. I would say that further refinements to the menu could be made, but I would return."

  • "My wife and I were not very familiar with the west side of the Springs so we initially didn't know about the restaurant. I saw the chef on Fox 21 morning news a few times, did some research and found out that it was considered one of the best Italian restaurants in the Springs. It did not disappoint. The menu had plenty of choices but was not overwhelming. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The restaurant definitely has a very friendly neighborhood feel that's great for families, but also had a romantic feel, too. Very rustic looking. It was a good vibe. I definitely recommend it."
