Pancakes were delicious, however some of the brunch food items could use a bit of tweaking flavor wise (fried chicken with waffles, chicken was not seasoned very well, shrimp and grits were not special). However, our server Allison and the Manager Justin were just the best; lovely demeanor, excellent service. Unique Bloody Mary Bar. Also the complimentary Chef's buffet was a really nice surprise and super delicious. Great eggs florentine - beautiful presentation and so good. We have not been to the restaurant in a few years, however, we intend to be regulars now! The food was delicious and the presentation an A+. The best part, is that they have a pastry chef and make thier own desserts, which seems less common in great restaurants these days. While the food is outstanding, and the decor beautiful, we could hardly hear each other talk. There was a party in the center of the room, filled with inconsiderate diners. There are a lot of tables in the main dining room, so there was way too much noise. It ruined our experience. I'd definitely go back if the management could keep the noise level down. Couldn't have been happier. I knew something was different when the bartender realized that my martini had too much vermouth and offered to replace it free of charge. I'm sure a mistake like that doesn't happen often but it made a very positive impression on me and set the tone for the excellence we experienced the rest of the evening. It simply stands out as an example of how to treat people. Several of us had the striped bass which was perfectly prepared and accompanied by ingredients that were delicious but that didn't get in the way of the natural sweetness of the fish. I can honestly say it was one of the best breakfast/brunches I've ever had. I had the eggs florentine, my wife the shrimp and grits and both were incredible. On top of that, they include an AMAZING complimentary appetizer bar for no charge. We had house cured gravlax, cheddar bread pudding, heirloom tomoato salad, croissant, pastries and the best granola I've ever had. All in all a great meal, in a great atmosphere, for a very reasonable price considering what they offer. The server brought us the added touch of a plate of cookies at the end of the meal and the manager came over to congratulate us on our anniversary and to make sure everything was to our liking. The food was nicely prepared and very good but the portions were small especially considering the cost. The sides are all ala carte with nothing but some "decoration" served with the entree. Obviously, a lot of money was spent remodeling the bar and dining room. The new chef's counter and wine cases look outstanding. The only decor item we didn't like were the tables. In such an elegant setting, and with prices to match, we didn't find the tables fitting. There are many excellent specialty cocktails from which to choose as well as wines by the glass. There are many choices of appetizer and entrees with an emphasis on seafood. Our server, Michael, did a great job of guiding us through our decisions. Despite having several tables to server he was very attentive. All our selections were excellent. We were treated to tremendous service, kitchen execution, and a lunch that sparkled at every turn. My business associate went with the chopped salad (snooze fest), while my partner and I enjoyed the lunch trio special. Wow! Homemade pasta (cavetelli) in a whipped ricottta cream sauce with champagne mushrooms and spinach. Side of heirloom tomato and chickpea salad with cubed feta and brownie cubed caramel drizzled dessert. Way better than salad!
