Great place for lunch before the matinee. We just had to cross the street to the theater. Service was excellent and we would definitely go back.

We were 4 diners in a mostly empty restaurant. Had to ask for water after having been seated (with reservation) for 15 minutes. Drinks were slow to come. Wait staff was warm/friendly. Food was mediocre (cooked perfectly, but fish was doused in too much of a very rich sauce, overly spiced...it wasn't delicate as I feel it should have been). My fellow diners made similar comments about their entrees. French fries were excellent! Overall, it was very expensive for very mediocre food. Also, for a party of 4, they included an automatic gratuity. At the bar, as a single patron buying drinks for one, I was charged 18% gratuity. The bar was empty most of the night and when it started warming up, it closed at 1am! I expect more from a night out.

If you're staying at the Paramount Hotel, this is a convenient place to eat at for breakfast, lunch, or dinner if you are in a rush and can't make it to any of the restaurants on Restuarant Row, which is only 1/2 a block away. The food was good whenever I ate here, once for dinner and 4 times for breakfast.

The food was excellent, as was the service. The ambiance was pleasant but not outstanding. One thing diners should know: no liquor is served till 5 PM. That shouldn't matter though, since the food is so good.

I'd never been to the Paramount Bar & Grill (as I didn't even know it existed inside the the hotel) but I will be going back. It's an ideal local with access to many Broadway shows and the food, service and atmosphere were quite enjoyable. I'm sure it's been there for awhile but I'm excited to have finally found it!

I arrived with a friend after making a 12:45pm reservation through Open Table for lunch. There was only one other table sat in the dining room which was obviously not a good sign. We were presented with menus that only listed two entrees while there were at least give listed on their menu online. This was frustrating as that left no vegetarian options for myself except for a salad that was just greens and sides (asparagus and warm potato salad). Another potential patron came in after us, was furious about the menu and left. Once we ordered, it was about 25 minutes before anything was served....no bread, nothing. The food we had was fine, the servers were nice enough and the restaurant is nicely designed, but I will not go back.

Following a meeting at NYT, at my suggestion, we all walked 6 blocks north here for Monday lunch. Since the place opened at noon, it was deserted and basically remained so when we left at 1:30. The food burgers and sandwiches were huge and tasty, however the waiter got my drink order mixed up a couple of times. To sum up: I was expecting to show my out-of-town guests a little Ian Schrager hipness but maybe it was the hour of the day and that it was early in the week. A solid B.

Were seating promptly and enjoyed a delicious dinner with our party ordering a variety of different foods (pork, hamburger, salmon) and we were all happy. They moved things along so we made our 8 pm show with plenty of time. Will definitely go back.

Three people had chicken---too dry. Limited pasta menu, tomato sauce: dull. The salmon dish was great! Vegetarians, stay away. The Paramount restaurant used to be great now it's far too limited in what it offers and what it offers is problematic, hit or miss. It's a good bar scene but as for dining, go elsewhere.

The dinner started off with roles that were so hard I could not break them in order to butter them and returned them twice but they just had no fresh roles. I tried to call the restaurant at 6 to say I would like to extend the reservation but after three times, no one was there to answer the phone until I had to call the general manger of the hotel who finally said that the manager of the restaurant was busy elsewhere. That is a first for me to have no one at reception at dinner time to answer the phone. MY husband ordered a medium hamburger which came out well done. I ordered fish without the head and tail off which came out with the head and tail still on. It seems that what we ordered was not heard.

My sister and I were seeing a matinee down the street. Although we had never been to the Paramount Hotel before, I was so happy with our choice. From the moment we entered the restaurant until we left, the experience exceeded our expectations. The staff welcomed us and was so friendly. The service was great and the food was delicious. Everything about the dining experience was a 10. I would definitely recommend to others and I look forward to going back.

Food and service were fine. However,an 18% service charge (aka gratuity) was automatically added to the check - we were a party of 2. When we questioned, they said it was a union hotel, Europeans don't tip so this way they were assured a tip. If you prefer to give a discretionary tip based on service, I would avoid Paramount!

We had pre-theater dinner and this stylish place was a quarter full which made for a peaceful meal. The branzino was delicious but look out for bones. Chicken Pot Pie was beautiful and hearty if a little bland. Nice, knowledgeable, attentive servers made the whole experience memorable.
