Everything was incredibly fresh and was put together in the most interesting ways...we had such fun exploring each component of each dish individually and then combining everything to get that complex bite, perfect with comfortable and unusual flavors at the same time. Each portion was ample to enjoyment but not so much that it was too filling before the next course. The staff was so nice and down to earth, and so knowledgeable about the dishes, it was truly a pleasure to dine at Parallel 37 and we will surely return next time we visit!"

Several weeks ago we had dinner there and was blown away? This time we tried the tasting menu and it was so good we did not want it to end. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Beautiful modern setting with a great waitstaff (somewhat casual, not pretentious). You can order A la carte, but we enjoyed the 8 course tasting menu ($135 per person) with wine pairings (+$75 per person). Note: 5 course $95, with wines add $50. This included a little bit of everything (meats, sea food, vegetables etc) including Chicken Foot, seemed odd at first, but it was great ! A little about the Chef: Before taking the helm at Parallel 37 on 01-2013, Chef Michael Rotondo, 33, trained with & worked alongside world-renowned Chef Charlie Trotter at his eponymous Chicago restaurant for 8 years, working his way up the ranks to Chef de Cuisine and ultimately . . . Executive Chef. Note: The Chef's entire Bio is incredible, so book it !!!"

  • "We dined here to celebrate my husband's 50th. Splurged on the Chef's selection 5-course meal with drink pairing. The chef was not discouraged by my request for no poultry or pork. Brought out amazing food and drink pairings that we've raved about to friends and family for days since. Fresh fish, delicate flavors, well-balanced and delicious. The server was pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere is modern, but still comfortable and inviting. We will save our pennies and come back again for my 50th."

  • "Not quite but my time on earth during the three-hour, eight-course tasting menu certainly was tasty! I enjoyed the two amuse bouche dishes, the fish course, and granita- grapefruit with ginger. It was refreshing and inspired. Cocktail selection was interesting and not overwhelming. We did not indulge in wine. I was quite full by the time the four-hoof course began, but we persevered. Dessert comprised two fun dishes both quite tasty. My friend was presented with a selection of brightly colored macaroons complete with a birthday candle. Presentation was clean and pretty. Service was thoughtful and friendly. The $10 parking fee is a good incentive. I had a definite food hangover the next day!"

  • "Went for lunch.Received a very warm welcome as my wife and I approached the entry. Very personalized as we were greeted by name. My wife had a chicken wrap containing apricots and arugula. She thoroughly enjoyed the taste of her entree and its plate appearance. I had bucatini pasta with king salmon and broccoli . Very flavorful dish.it's our understanding that the dinner menu is very different so we plan to return for an evening out."

Unfortunately conversation between the 3 of us was limited to "oh my, this is my new favorite, try this, wow" etc. The food was great and the deserts were a great compliment to the meal and not overly sweet and heavy. As for the cocktails, phenomenal."

  • "My girlfriend and I should have walked away from Parallel 37 when the hostess was chatting on the phone without looking up to greet us. She was unfriendly and rushed us to the dining room. Dining service was horrible. Staff looked confused. We were ignored even though we were only 1 of the 4 tables occupied. We should have been more assertive. Thankfully the food was better than the staff. As locals, this is a poor experience. We hope to check out dinner in the future... but with so many great restaurants in San Francisco and the Bay Area... Parallel 37 is at the bottom of our list."

  • "An outstanding place. Very lovely and romantic athmosphere. Excellent and very obliging staff that is there when you need them and explain the dishes and answer question with high enthusiasm. I startet with a drink called bar fly which was very tastily. The gem letucce with crispy spicy artichoke was very good and the californian lamb was excellent made. All dishes are very nicely presented. The cucumber sorbet at the end was again a tastily experience. The wine selection is reasonable. I will definitively come back. Congratulations to the whole team who makes an exceptionally great job."

  • "This space has a casual elegance to it that feels very comfortable. Food is all served as small plates which are great to share. It allows you to sample more dishes. Wonderful preparation of octopus, caramelized cauliflower and little gem salad with fried artichoke hearts were all delicious and had great textures. Waitstaff was very accommodating, helpful but not intrusive."

  • "My boyfriend and I chose to eat here during a weekend getaway to SF. It was by far the best meal I have ever had. It was straight out of a top chef episode. The waiters were always aware of what we needed and were capable of explaining each dish we had in its entirety. The food was unbelievable and the wine was amazing as well. I highly recommend coming here if you are a foodie or looking for a romantic place for date night."

  • "We enjoyed all three dishes we tried (bouillabase, ceviche and lamb), the desert, and the wine. Portions are not large. The emphasis here truly is on quality and presentation, which are both superb. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is quiet, with enough space so that it's possible to have a conversation without feeling crowded by other diners. It was a little dark at our table, so we asked to move to a table nearby with more light. The waiter quickly arranged that and brought us one more candle."

  • "As usual the Ritz Carlton never fails. I was a huge fan of the Ritz Carlton Dining Room and was sad to hear they were going for a new format in their main restaurant but what a gem. The food was so interesting, unexpected and delicious. they also accommodated our kids and made the best fresh made chicken nuggets - i promise every adult would want these."

  • "I was a guest, and expected for special dinner on 31th 2013. It was far from what I had expected. It seemed to try Asian tast, but it was far from it and awful. I could not eat carrot risotto which had no good smell and taste, my daughters also skipped to eat it. Last course was veil which was good but jujube with spices were unbelivable. I could understand that they try to add asian taste on, it was too much, they seemed to forget basically Amerian tast and material flavors. Please remind of the core of Asian especially Japanese taste is based on material flavor, no to much spices. Wine selection and service were good, but I do not try next time. But I love Rits!"

  • "The ambience was good, the food was really good, but what set this place apart from others was the service by the entire staff. They were all were extremely curtious and jumped at the chance to help or answer any questions. Looming at the dessert menu we decided against it though it all looked really good. Well the waiter brought us out what we had our eye on anyway telling us he could tell we were wanting it. Boy was he right. I would have hated missing out on that."

  • "Extremely disappointed at the expense and small size of portions. The food was interesting, but not memorable. Part of the experience of a meal is feeling satisfied, and none of us were. The food is not enjoyable when the portion size is laughable and there's not even the feeling of having had a meal. The younger members of our group actually went out for pizza after this expensive meal. As their host, I was embarrassed. The arrogance of expecting diners to accept this just added to the pretentiousness of this place. On a positive note, the hotel is gorgeous, and the restaurant is beautiful, with great ambiance. Would not return or recommend."

  • "This was a disaster! I do not eat mushrooms and always make a point of letting the server know this, well - this server did not seem to understand that (or care) because both my items had mushrooms in them! The menu never mentioned that the dishes contained mushrooms - in fact one featured them. I called the server over to show him this and he either through ignorance or denial said the items I was pointing to were not mushrooms but piece of "short rib" (which is what the menu claimed was in the dish), so I tasted one and sure enough it was a mushroom - yuk - I had that taste in my mouth the rest of the night! They never apologised or offered any other type of dish or replacement. This was a $200 meal that made me disgusted!"

  • "The ambiance of Parrallel 37 is elegant, sofisticated, it has just the right amount of lighting, I don't like eating where I can't see my food. Okay let's talk about the food, we ordered two pork tenderloin, WOW!! the pork melts in your mouth, every bite is simply mouth watering, another item we ordered was the boneless chicken wing, amazing, never knew boneless chicken wing can be prepared this way, and lastly we also ordered the flank stake which was also great. btw, the presentation of each dish were also impressive, lastly the desserts were out of this world as well, needless to say we were all very "impressed" with all of our choices. ps ~ Please forgive my writing, I do not do food reviews. lol"

  • "My fourth time here. The first three visits were off the mark. Food was meh. Last night was Incredible! The food was phenomenal! Started with the Gem Salad, it has these perfectly done crispy artichoke hearts & a succulent dressing. Then we had a white truffle risotto. Cooked to perfection. Creamy, not too much truffle with a hint of wine. Then we devoured the Pork tenderloin with mission fig & almond cream. I have NEVER had such a delish entree. The new chefs Michael & Alex are headed for a Michlain Star. I'm not kidding. Every time we go to SF, we are dining here!"

  • "Don't believe anything negative you may have heard about this restaurant! It's a wonderful place for a quiet, romantic dinner, or to impress your visiting parents. Decor is serenely modern with low lighting, and service is "casual-formal." The hotel setting lends elegance with valet parking and lovely surroundings. But the food is what really shines. Combinations such as heirloom tomatoes and crispy duck confit are unusual, yet absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The small plate format is perfect. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of ingredients and preparation. Plates can be shared or split and coursed for a more relaxed experience. Getting a table at prime time was easy. We're so glad we found this gem!"

  • "We enjoyed one of the nicest dinners at Parallel 37. While the ambiance is a little austire for some, the food, presentation and service were just excellent. The craft cocktails imaginative and very good, The cuisine is fresh, local and creative. All the ingredients were the very best. We started with the bruins farm tomatoes/duck confit and the lettuce/crispy artichoke salads - they were a great showcase of the fresh/local focus of the restaurant. We had the lamb (actually a trio - belly, roulade and tenderloins) and the halibut special. Both were excellent. The desserts were equally delicous. There is an extensive wine list. The service complimented the fine cusine. Only complaint - it's a little noisey for a fine restaurant."
