A word from Paralia (formerly Trinity Taverna)
Welcome to Paralia...

Paralia is more than a great place on the beach. It's the
feeling of being transported to another world.

To a vibrant seaside village in Greece, where the white sand meets the turquoise blue waters of the Aegean.

Where the ocean is part of everyday life and every night is
a celebration. Where the best ingredients from the land and
sea meet.

The Greeks originated the concept of hospitality, sharing, and 'filoxenia'...inviting a stranger into your home to feed them and entertain them. This is what we do every single night at Paralia. The party and hospitality is always alive and vibrant...and you will be taken on a Greek culinary journey .

Enjoy Toronto's largest and freshest fish and seafood selection, and our succulent rotisserie lamb and chicken with our delicious sides and salads.

Mezze Happy Hour from 5PM to 7PM daily.

Live Greek. Escape to Paralia.

I had the lamb chops, which were the best I've ever had anywhere. Nice modern restaurant layout. The waitress told me that they are primarily a sharing restaurant, where you can share items with your party, including pounds of steak. I opted for the regular non-sharing menu instead.

Fabulous evening. Having travelled throughout Greece, this is one of the most authentic restaurants around. The servcie was great. The food was delcious and the presentation was lovely. I would especially recommend the yogurt and shrimp soup as a starter and the yogurt and carmalized fig and walnut dessert. It was a beautiful experience and the decor makes you think you are back in Greece at an exclusive restaurant. Delightful.

We celebrated a birthday party on Saturday night at Paralia, and it was a great venue for a special occasion, despite being +$300 for food & drinks, per couple. It is a beautiful venue and we've been here several times as we live in the neighbourhood. Food was very good - described by our Greek guest of honour as 'Greek Food on Steriods" (ie. very good!). The only disappointment was the quality of one of the lamb dishes (Single-Cut Ontario Lamb Chops - Paidakiait)... they were badly overcooked and tough, and our guest chose not to send it back, but wished she had. Everything else was lovely and service was attentive and timely.

We had a late lunch this past Sunday at 2:30. We were the only diners at the time. The service was great and the appetizer salad (sesame encrusted Cheese) was good. Main were not that good. Over cooked Milk Fed Lamb with over cooked potatoes x2, Moussaka was just ok and chicken main over cooked.

After living in Greece for seven years, I have found the next best thing in Toronto. Paralia's decor transports you to a Greek island in seconds. The attention to details, such as the straw chairs and twig ceiling, impresses. The food is contemporary Greek using all the traditional ingredients. Guests have always commented on the fact that dishes like these are not found on the Danforth. The extensive Greek wine list enables diners to experience the burgeoning field of wine-making in Greece.

The milk fed lamb was so dry that I had to spit it out. It tasted like it was boiled instead of cooking on the spit. The sauce that went on the lamb tasted like store made ready sauce. I have ordered the lamb back when the restaurant was under the name "Trinity" and it was so much better then. My wife and I will not be going back again.

Food was prepared the way it should be ..using fresh ingredients. The fish was grilled ,drizzled with greek olive oil and sprinkled with a bit of salt. Simple but delicious! Compared to other greek restaurants it is more expensive but the food cannot be compared to those places...it is more authentic mediterranean food. Order carefully and it will not be any more expensive then other finer restaurants.

I wanted to go somewhere different, with a nice ambiance and great food, and I had a great date night at Paralia. The food was tasty and the service was friendly. I know a lot of people in the reviews complained and said they wouldn't go back because it's pricey, but considering how they're positioned as a fine dining Greek restaurant (with fresh fish flown in daily from Greece), I'm not surprised of the prices. Having that said, there are other items to choose from and there are a variety of appetizers and pasta dishes that won't break your budget. That's exactly what I did, so I am happy with my experience. I had the Orzo pasta with Scallops and it was delicious. Give this place a try :)

Greek Food is always the same fair, just a different twist. So when we discovered the ridiculously expensive price level for some of the dishes we expected something in return. So disappointing to spend $19.00 for a trio of dips (at my local resto the give one of those dips for free!) and the amount supplied was about the size of a golf ball....really?? The Village salad for 2 was also $19.00 which consisted of probably 2-3 cut up tomatoes, some onion and a few shavings of cucumber with a rather nice block of Feta on top. Again...really??? My husband and are not cheap, we usually dine at upscale eateries, but this place is just taking advantage of their location and pretending to be something they're not. Really enjoyed the outdoor seating

We dined at this beachfront spot on Sunday of the long weekend. We thought it would be a great spot to dine as it sits on Woodbine Beach and the patio looked beautiful. Unfortunately, like many spots that are on the tourist track, the food did not match up to its potential or the price tag. We politely expressed our disappointment to our waitress after ordering a roasted chicken and rice meal that was the equivalent quality of an item from a food court. Surprisingly, we were still handed over a hefty bill of $99.00. We think the food could be so much better! We won't be going back and we would not recommend it those that want to eat good food. For wine lovers: there are very few single glass options.

Food was very good (especially the fresh whole fish), but the service still requires work. We waited 5mins upon arrival until the hostess returned (no other staff member was even around), and then it took over 10mins before anyone came over to our table to welcome, bring water and/or take a drink order. The server was absolutely lovely, but she was stretched thin with a larger group to manage.

Great ingrediemts, disppointing execution, have had a couple of good but expensive meals there. This last time was expensive but not good. Snapper was ok, halibut barely passable, but octopus was great. The service was painfully slow, and an older gentleman kept rubbing my back every time he came over to address our service issues, trying to be friendly but creeping us out. He smelled of stale cigarette smoke on top of it all I just expected a lot more for the price. Will not be back!

The food was great, the patio was gorgeous, the service was good but the price was a huge surprise. The problem was many of the seafood items on the menu were "market value" price so we didn't know how much we were spending. The menu did say the waiter would take you to the front so I could select my own fish, but that didn't happen. Was my fish to get it weighed & priced so I could know in advanced the cost? Maybe that would have prevented my shock when I got a bill of over $300 for 3 people and only 2 people shared a bottle of wine. Also many of the seafood items were a la carte....so my 18 year old only got 2 pieces of grilled octopus (although I must say I hate octopus & this was delicious & tender) Also $45 for 12 oysters!

We were celebrating my husband's birthday and this was our second time at Paralia. We had visited the restaurant when it was Trinity Taverna. Food was still great, the greek dumplings are my favorite. The restaurant seems to have lost a bit of it's hoity toityness- much appreciated. It's pricey but the food is good and it's fresh. The view and ambiance are great. Will return again. We went for a special occasion for dinner but I could also see going here for apps and a bottle of wine with the girls.

The restaurant is gorgeous. The food, once negotiated, was very good. However, in general, we found the restaurant to be a bit pretentious and rigid. Asking to move away from the busy kitchen in an empty room caused lengthy discussion between the hostess and management while we stood in the middle of the room and waited. If you don't like potato with your meal and prefer salad - too bad. We were disappointed with the inflexibility re small changes. We paid $20 for a Greek salad for 2, which arrived in one dish. No side plates. We were told that 1 person should eat their share and then pass it on! There are no easy food choices for kids. Dessert especially, was impossible. Nuts in the chocolate cake, and only (real) rum raisin ice cream.

The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent....Personally, I will be back. The problem is that this is a very large space, and it was empty. Outside on the patio you are next thousands of volleyball players. We watched them walk by and look in, but not a single person came inside because the restaurant was too fancy, and too expensive. This place needs to cater to the foot traffic in the area. The only restaurant in all of Toronto that is on the beach, with a water view...but no one leaving the beach will actually come in for a $48 pork chop..with no sides. They need to cater to drinks on the patio, fish tacos, etc. My bill was $300 with tip. This gem will unfortunately not survive. Again.

The restaurant is located in a prime area. Steps from the beach, so you have a view of the water - great for outdoor dining. We started with the Village Salad and Melitzanosalata. Both dishes were good. Our main dishes came out quickly - I ordered the chicken, and my husband ordered the halibut. Both delicious. The downfall was our server - he lacked people skills. When my husband ordered his main, the server commented that "only women order that". Our plates took way too long to be cleared from the table, and we had to ask the busboy for coffee as our server was no where to be found. This could have been a great experience, if only the service was better. There’s a good chance that we will not be returning to this establishment.

Minuses: On two occasions recently I dined at Paralia and can only say that the service and wait staff is unorganized and inattentive and this is not funny as it was just before the dinner hour and half empty. This is a definitely a management issue. Also my medium lamb chops were cooked through well done and the frites were too well done and cold. Management should look at the portion sizes as I feel they are too scanty for the prices charged. Pluses: For dinner, it's a nice touch that tables are linen-covered and have linen napkins. Many other establishments have turned to no table clothes and paper napkins. I liked the fresh herbs and olive oil on the pita bread. Location, as always, is pleasant as there's a nice lake breeze and view.

I have eaten here three times on weekend evenings. The decor is impressive with an open kitchen and some water features. But the food and service has been hit and miss. Expect to wait for over an hour for your main courses. We waited an hour and half on one occasion. We were charged six dollars for three pieces of pita bread. The selection of fish and seafood is impressive -- you just might die of starvation waiting for it.
