A word from Paragon Restaurant & Bar - San Francisco
Paragon is a neighborhood gastropub serving ingredient-driven, honest food, craft beers, unique cocktails and eclectic wines. Located in the South of Market (SOMA) district of San Francisco and just one block from AT&T Park, Paragon features loft-like ceilings, custom décor and a roll-up garage door that leads out onto a sunny outdoor patio. Paragon's design aesthetic fits perfectly in this industrial-meets-artsy neighborhood: reclaimed barn wood and hand-painted subway tiles can be admired throughout the restaurant and the lounge area is flanked by a giant chalkboard announcing the available craft beers above a well-worn communal table made out of rusted metal and reclaimed Koa wood.Continued

  • "Lunch at Paragon was great as usual for meeting with other professionals."

  • "This is my second time dining at Paragon and the experience has been consistently great! Kale salad a must for lunch! Service is friendly and attentive."

  • "Great food. Great service. Great drinks. Would go back with friends for sure. Probably wouldn't book another working dinner there (too busy). They tried to give us a quieter table, which we appreciated. By SF standards, not the loudest by far. But they didn't seem set up for groups which want to hear each other well."

  • "The crispy chicken with brussel sprouts was quite good. The bread pudding was a little sweet for me but the portion was huge... good for sharing if you have a really sweet tooth. Service was attentive. I'm rarely impressed with restaurants near ballparks but Paragon was quite a few notches above the usual suspects."

  • "Every single thing took 3 times as long as it would at any other restaurant. Service was so SLOW. Meals came out at different times, and some were cold and under cooked. Some of their beers on draught were flat. I will not be going back."

  • "Good service and great food. It is a great spot for a lovely evening out. They've done a great job minimizing the noise level. Have been going to this restaurant for years and at one time lived in the building above. Highly recommended!"

  • "Overall good atmosphere. Food average, price high. Service was good but selection was limited. A lot of great restaurants in SF, so i probably wouldnt go back. Found on open table. Appeared that others around me werent so impressed so maybe it was a trend. Id recommend paragon for a drink after work but not for a memorable dinner on a special occassion. Solid C grade."

  • "We had a fantastic dinner here and Austin provided outstanding service! The spicy taste of the dipping oil for the bread was awesome! Everything from drinks to dinner was great. Thanks for making this a memorable night out!"

  • "Loved the food. The staff was attentive but not intrusive on our business lunch. We asked for special orders and they complied happily. And did I mention that this restaurant/bar is half a block away from the SF Giants ballpark? Also, the custom non-alcoholic drinks are fabulous."

  • "Chose Paragon at the last minute. Expected it to be crowded but we were able to get in with a 7:30 pm reservation, which isn't easy in this part of town on a Friday night. Service was attentive, food was very good. Between us, we ordered the risotta (excellent, not too rich), a chicken dish, the tomato/burrata salad, and the ribs appetizer (almost big enough for a main course). Everyone left happy."

  • "Fries arrived cold but were promptly and cheerfully replaced; overall the food + drinks were great and the service was friendly and attentive."

  • "not crazy prices and really quite good food. Brussel Spouts with pancetta were nice. The entrees were both from the specials list - Petite Fillet with bleu cheese butter and Prawns with saffron cream sauce and both were delicious. Large serving for the Fillet too. The Bread Pudding with a scoop of vanilla was also great, just massive for two people but probably perfect for four."

  • "Nice area for dinner after work, free street parking. Busy night and overall service was adequate.....I was with my family and I was paying so no one complained. Mussels were small but taste was good. Hamberger was satisfactory. Shrimp Grits very skimpy, the beef special was good , however the garlic mashed were not as flavorful as expected. The menu's salmon was the tastiest item. Dessert was very good. Go for the bread pudding and carrot cake was also delish. It's an ok place to eat, but way too pricey for the amount of food. Go for dessert only. I won't return unless someone with big wallet pays."

  • "Having eaten twice for lunch in the past week, we rightly came to expect wonderful flavors and thoughtful service when we returned for dinner on Friday. Unfortunately, our server seemed rushed and disappeared for long stretches. I tried the chicken, which for half a chicken, surely was a petite sacrifice: the size of a Cornish game hen. Still, the beer selection is informed and savory, and the flavors of the earlier lunches still outweigh the lackluster dinner. We will try lunch again in the new year."

  • "Went to Cirque du Soleil after dinner - this is a nice spot before or after a ball game or any event in the area. HIghly recommended."

  • "If you're looking to dine near AT&T Park, this is the perfect place. We had a very nice dinner within walking distance. The servings were generous; although the menu was not huge, there was plenty of variety. They also seemed willing to accommodate substitutions. We would definitely go back again. There is an outdoor seating area, as well as a bar, open dining, and private/group dining rooms."

  • "I had the pot roast which was so tender and delicious! The cocktails are delicious too!"

  • "mid week December so obviously quiet crowd. Given the type of restaurant it is, and near the ballpark, it could use larger TV screens at the bar."

  • "Great food! Good and attentive service. Was a good place to have our business luncheon. Will definitely come again!"

  • "Food pairings were wonderful, I had swordfish on eggplant and tomato base, very very good seasoning. Brussel sprout apetizer, waitress talked us into trying it. Who knew brussel sprouts could be a yummy appetizer! Mushroom cigars also unique & tasty, too. Calimari was fresh and moist while batter was crunchy with a hint of spice. Others had a chop, can't reacll if it was lamb or pork.. but whichever it was they thought thier dish was pretty outstanding, too. Oh and ordered a side of broccolini, most places i go overcook it, it was prefect, hot and crisp! and loved the seasoning. Again, the seasoning on everything was made the food standout."

  • "I live across the street, so location is ideal to me. We dined outside on the patio on a warm night, and the heat lamps were actually unnecessary. One of my favorite mac & cheeses- smooth and creamy cheese sauce."

  • "I had a favorite, the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I'd forgotten how yummy it was. The server was very attentive. The dining room is a little loud. I kept having to have my friend repeat herself. My friend had the risotto, which she found delicious. I will definitely go back here for some fresh food selections."

  • "We have made Paragon our pre-game ritual when going to a San Francisco Giants game. The food is much better than in the ballpark and the service has been great the two times we have gone. The menu is simple so the cooks execute the food in a consistently good manner. There is enough variety for groups to handle fish to beef and the ambiance is great. The wine list also has enough breadth to provide good compliments to the food and does not seem overpriced. I will go again."

  • "Unfortunately too much business from the ballgames but some servers are really slow and do not pay attention at all. Or maybe they don't care. Food is fair. Some dishes definitely unhealthy."
    Dined on 8/23/2013
  • "The beer selection was very good. My burger was quite good but my spouse's halibut was at best adequate. Prices are at the high end for a restaurant of this quality. If a good beer selection is your top criterion then this place is worth the price; otherwise, probably not."

  • "Went her before a concert, on a game night, so service was understandably slow (inattentive). Food was really tasty, as were the cocktails."
