  • "After 5 yrs as a devoted fan of Paradiso's fine fair, and countless special occasions, casual meals, and big family celebrations, we are at a loss for what has affected the decline at this "neighborhood gem". Gone was the delicate and familiar delight to all 5 senses: This meal missed every mark. My pre-meal cocktail, a mojito, was tasteless with not hint of muddled mint, rum, or lime flavor. The calamari appetizer was over breaded, and served with a bland aioli, the double pork chop was dry, and the "delicate" white wine and butter sauce served with the scallops, was an over-seasoned heavy gravy. Dessert was no better. Was this due to 2nd rate cook and wait staff on a Monday shift? Has there been a change in ownership or management?"

  • "The food was tasty when we finally got it. Granted we were a group of six, but we must of waited nearly 50 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we got our food. We were there at two in the afternoon, and the restaurant wasn't even half-full, making the long wait time even more confusing. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and the food is generally good. I had the green enchiladas; the two enchiladas themselves were very delicious, but the side of beans and eggs was nothing to write home about. I've enjoyed our trips to Paradiso in the past, but the slow service will make me think twice before returning."

  • "I was with 2 other middle age female friends. We were not to happy about our waiter who treated as like "second class" customers by not remembering our order and when the food was ready bringing it to the people next to us. When this happened the waiter extended his apologies not to us but to them (people next table) to whom we heard him saying: "...I am sorry, this shows that I think about you". We felt that if a male would have been with us we would probably got better service."

  • "Hosted a party of 6 for our son's 27th birthday. We had an excellent time and the service was outstanding. All the entree's (salmon, flatiron steak, rib-eye steak, fish special (2), lamb tenderloin) were great. We brought our own wine and they had no issues with opening them for us. This was the 3rd time at the restaurant and it was the best yet. I highly recommend it."

  • "We ate calamari fritter, margherita pizza, mushroom ravioli, cioppino, and the apple crisp. Also had the basil martini. Food came out pretty quick, the starters, and they were lukewarm, as if they had been sitting out or too many prepared in advance. Chewy calamari. The best was the entrees. Cioppino was tasty, with a lot of seasoning and flavors. Also a good amount of seafood. Ravioli was also good but not spectacular for having been made from scratch. Came here because we saw it on check please and read yelp reviews. But too bad that our experience was that of the negative yelp reviewers. For the price and quality of atmosphere, we expected much more. Service was attentive but again, not great. Just not bad. Had to ask for water."

  • "Although my birthday was last Saturday, a dinner party with friends and family was my idea for an awesome conclusion. I had been to Paradiso several times prior but only for apps and cocktails. Host was friendly and my party of 10 including myself were accommodated with a spacious table in the dining area towards the rear of the restaurant. All who dined raved about their individual food selections. The crab and avocado was a popular choice as well as the baby kale Caesar salad. Cocktails were yummy. The wait staff was very attentive. The night ended with a complimentary birthday tiramisu and my loved ones singing their rendition of Happy Birthday. I will most definitely return to Paradiso in the future. My dining experience was great!"

  • "Wonderful experience. The food was exceptional. Very fresh flavorful ingredients. Preparation and presentation was beautiful. Well thought out wine list with a wide range of vineyards and price points. Service was fine - very attentive and the waiter was well informed on the menu. I visited with three of my close friends and we all had a great time."

  • "My group of 5 was originally seated right by the door and when we asked if we could have a quieter table we were graciously offered a table in lovely room at the rear of the restaurant. The service was excellent and our waiter was extremely helpful in recommending an excellent wine. We all shared tastes and mostly were in agreement. The pear gorgonzola salad was a stand out. The rigatoni bolognese was also good although one person said there was an herb in it that she didn't care for. The food came out of the kitchen pretty slowly. Minor notes- the lamb shank was very rare so be forwarned. One person thought the cabernet sauce on the braised short ribs lacked depth. Desserts were great especially the apple crisp which was a work of art."

  • "The food is always good here. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, was because I had requested a table by the window. They seated us in the bar (by the window), on a high table. It was noisy and we were not comfortable with the high table. Otherwise, it was great as usual."

  • "Everything is good at Paradiso. Just be alert. Service included with party of 6 or more. But make certain the tip is based on the sub total before tax is computed. Also, make sure they don't tax the tip. Our tip was added to the sub total, than tax was added to the sum of both, for the balance due. Since we were very distracted, it wasn't noticed until we were already at home."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at Paradiso this past weekend. He order the double pork chops and I ordered the pancetta and mozzarella baked tortellini. He had the portabello mushroom appetizer and I had the calamari. I LOVED the calamari breading - I think it was polenta-based. It was golden brown and cruncy, and the calamari was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of chew. The accompanying lemon aioli is very good and paired perfectly. My tortellini was fantastic - pancetta and melted cheesy goodness in every bite. My husband ate 1 1/2 of his chops and took the remainder home for a late night snack. Paradiso has a decent wine and drink list, and I had a Paradiso Cosmo which was very tasty. Overall two thumbs up! A great spot!"

The food is excellent and I've had good service. I was there on Monday, June 16 for dinner and it was delicious. We also had a fabulous server--really good and knew how to keep track of little things we might need. We were also seated in a corner, which was perfect as we could converse comfortably."

  • "Normally we love Paradiso- it's within walking distance, good food, we often drop in at the last minute or order take out. Father's Day was an exception. I ordered a shrimp omelet- the shrimp inside were cold and some of the egg was undercooked and running out the side. Had someone come back to check on the order, I would have told them immediately but we couldn't even see our waiter- he was all over the restaurant. I wasn't offered a second cup of coffee until they came over with the bill. The toaster wasn't working but nobody told us until we finally asked the host. This was unusual for Paradiso. I did ask the person clearing the table to show my dripping egg to the chef- hopefully others did not share this experience."

  • "This time out we had brunch and the food remains average. The chocolate chip mini muffins were dry. The French toast was almost good (one slice was clearly burned on one side), and the scrambled eggs were cooked too hard when I asked for wet, runny eggs. My companion had the frittata and thought it had too much cheese and very little of the vegetables. The blackberry cabernet sorbet remains an excellent choice, and the apple crisp would be great if it ever reaches the table hot. Much better service on this visit by the primary wait-person (who's name I didn't get - apologies) - she was attentive, friendly, and provided overall good service during the meal."

  • "As we anticipated, the food was excellent and we were treated very well. It was a Girl's Night and we were celebrating a birthday by sharing each dish family style. Our waiter offered fine suggestions and all of our dishes were superb (Mussels App., Mushroom Soup, Sausage Pizza, Duck Risotto, Smoked Salmon Fettuccine, and Seared Scallops). We finished with Affogato, Creme Brulee and the birthday Tiramisu. We enjoyed the modern decor in the open dining room, however if I had to pick one negative thing it would be the resulting noise level. Of course, the noise won't keep us away...the food is just too good! Thanks Paradiso for showing us a great time!"

  • "My wife and I have visited this place numerous times. Being a meat lover, this restaurant has prime rib later than most restaurants (and it is seasoned excellently). It's definitely a 5 star restaurant far from the busy tourist spaces. A really great place in an area short on 5 star restaurants....making it a really great place to head to with friends who don't want to pay for parking! Not sure what else to say, because I don't normally write these reviews, but this is a great, vibrant restaurant where you would not expect one. Probably 6-7 meals, even with my hard-to-please folks, and we've loved every one of them. Give it a try. If you don't like it, save up three times the cash and go back to Morton's:-)."

  • "Paradiso had mix reviews given to us by our family of adult children. First off, cheering greeting by front house, second waitress was excellent...she could not have been better. Patient, knowledgeable, smart and with good taste humor thrown in. Salmon are friend ordered was cooked perfect. Her comment on the salad "where are the almonds" ? Our kale salad was good but dressing could have used just a little more kick. Unfortunately our pizza was set on a damp plate and therefore was a little bit soggy...all the components were very good. The salted caramel ice cream is a winner."

  • "I have been a regular at this restaurant for over a decade. It's a great place. Good food. Reasonable prices. Best restaurant in the area. That said, this particular night they were very busy. Service was VERY VERY slow. This is not normal. I sure hope management takes notice and staffs up a little more for weekends. Our server was wonderful, but was put in the position of having to apologize constantly for the slow service. Like I said, this is an aberration. Have always gotten great service there and now almost all of the servers personally. I have met the manager several times too. I think with the recent write up on "check please" Paradiso is more popular than ever, and thus they need to work on keeping up the good service."
