ParadisoWonderful!Paradiso is truly a neighborhood gem, but it would also be worth traveling for! The menu offer a wide variety of options for different diner's tastes and the execution of the meal was delicious from beginning to end. Especially notable is the Baby Kale Caesar which was a special and the mussels from the - the white wine broth on the mussels was one of the best we have every had!

We started with a Mediterranean Platter. It was ideal for sharing, the typical hummus, olive, pita combination with a nice addition of roasted red pepper slivers. The waiter was funny and would return to check on us at intervals always with a clever quip: (eying the remaining dollop of hummus: "hmm, can't bring yourself to eat that last bite?".) The next course was a wedge salad, crisp and lightly dressed. For entrees we chose a cioppino, overflowing with its seafood medley and in a tasty broth; and a medium rare lamb tenderloin, perfectly cooked. The plates were so ample that I had to force myself to try a dessert. In fact, they may have been the best enchiladas I have ever eaten. The lamb flavor was very good and not gamey at all, and this is only one of 3 places where I like lamb in California. The texture was a bit chewy though, so I thought that could have been better. Nevertheless, I ate the whole meal.
My husband is a huge pasta fan, and though the flavor was very good, the sauce was a bit much on the pasta portion. He would go for his tried and true clam and linguini next time.
