Going to Pappas Bros. is a special treat that I always look fwd to. The steaks are oustanding and perfectly prepared but don't shy away from the starters, the Hardboiled Lobster Eggs and Fried Oysters are not to be missed. Add the Lobster Mac'n cheese to your meal and you'll leave with a smile. Wine, wine and more wine, something for everyone."

My dining companion and I both had the filet duo which was very good... although I'd have liked my steaks to be a bit warmer when they came to the table (something I did not mention to anyone because the flavor far surpassed the temperature issue) Thomas was our waiter and he was fantastic. He made recommendations, was very knowledgeable and accommodating."

He was spot on correct in his descriptions and anticipated our every need including copious amounts of extra melted butter for our Crab and our steaks. The steak was fantastic. The Crab Legs were the Best I'd ever had - get them before they go out of season - worth ever ounce price. Fantastic ambiance! The entire staff made sure to greet my wife and wish her Happy Birthday...her desert was complimentary and it was so good as to be unparalleled! So if you eat here - be sure and check out the prices on the menu so you know what to expect and won't go into cardiac arrest. I budgeted a large amount and spent every bit of it. Definitely the BEST Steakhouse in Houston and worth every penny."

  • "As a frequent visiter to upscale steakhouses, I was looking forward to dinner at Pappas. The evening started with a 15 minute wait for us to be seated. This was unexpected since we arrived at our reservation time of 6pm. We were shown to the "tv room" which was even more of a surprise since we made the reservation with instructions for a romantic table. We ended up moving tables and the evening improved. The remaining service was decent. The food, however, was incredible. We had crab cakes and filets and they were both delicious. All in all, the evening was enjoyable. The service will keep me from going back in the near future, but the food will ultimately win me back."

  • "Most everthing was really good. The cheese tray was fabulous. The wine selection over the top, the wedge salads were great.of the 2 entrees that we ordered one was excellent and one was not. Additionally, we were seated at 8:30 and we left at 10:45. We had to take dessert home as we just could not sit there any longer. We were not charged for the cheesecake."

  • "I was all ready to go in and try my first bone-in fillet, but the waiter suggested I try one of their dry-aged strips instead. He explained that the New York strips and rib eye steaks are aged for 30 days in-house, something that sets them apart from other steak houses. The bone-in cuts are only aged 3-5 days, since the bone can start to sour the meat after that, and plain old fillets will not keep their integrity if aged too long. I'm normally not a strip gal, but my strip was fantastic! Not for one moment did I regret not choosing my old standby, the fillet. It was tasty and tender; a delicious reminder that stepping out of my comfort zone can be a rewarding experience. Oh, and the sides merit a whole other five star review!"

  • "The food is melt in your mouth delicious. Portions were generous and the service impeccable. My only complaint would be the size of the wine list, it was overwhelming and did not show wine by the glass. We ended up telling the waiter what we liked and he brought us something without knowing how much it would cost. I suppose if you are at this type of restaurant you really shouldn't care about price. The wine was wonderful and paired well with dinner so I am not complaining. Loved the dinner!"

  • "The service was five star as was the food It's my second time in and the night was memorable, however it's hard not to compare this place to Del Frisco's My bar bill for three drinks was with tip 50 my meal was 385 with tip plus 15 for vale Yes I had full course and dessert steak and lobster, but that same meal at Del Frisco's would have been 250 not 385 This is not to say the food and the service was less then exemplary it was excellent"

The restaurant was out of the appetizer we wanted to order and when ordering French fries, the waiter told me that he would have to go to Pappas burgers to get them. Such a weird dining experience."

The waiter asked if there was a special occasion and we mentioned it was our son's birthday....dessert was on the house. We had a perfect meal and a perfect evening.   • "I go to this restaurant every year for my birthday and they never fail to disappoint. The service is excellent, food and cocktails were great, and the ambiance is nice! It is pretty pricey but here, but unlike other restaurants, you get what you pay for! I Had their lettuce wedge salad with the avocado ranch dressing, crab mac and cheese and au gratin potatoes, with the filet minion steak that were absolutely outstanding! The evening started off very nicely when the waiter, bartender, and the manager came to our table to help me figure out what type of cocktail I was looking for since the changed the menu the last time I was there. They did everything they could to find what I was looking for!! I would definitely recommend this place!"

  • "Went to Pappas Bros on business travel for a business dinner with prospective clients. We were seated at a booth that was very deep, with high back benches. Our waiter was overly attentive, to the point that he and the rest of the crew were almost rude. My colleague and I would be in the middle of a discussion with our prospects, and we'd be interrupted so that the waiter or busboy could refill a half-full water glass. Worse yet, I'd have to hand the water glass to him. Some of my drinks, including hot coffee, were handed to me from BEHIND ME, over the top of the very high booth's backrest. I was seated inside the booth, and apparently they couldn't reach. Interruptions were the theme for the entire dinner. It became comical."

  • "We were recommended to Pappas Bros steakhouse by two locals and a review article on best steakhouses in Houston, so when we were in town on business, we had a dinner there to remember. The drinks were delicious, and the wine list was a tome. We started with the beef carpaccio, which is served on a block of Himalayan rock salt and had amazing flavor. We ordered oysters and crab cakes. The oysters were excellent, and while the crab cakes were good, I'd pass on them next time. The steaks were incredible with rich flavor. We ordered the aged, bone in porterhouse and strip steak, medium rare, with a char on the outside. The steaks were the best we'd ever had. Finish it off with a cheesecake slice big enough for 2 or 3. Go here. Be Happy"

  • "We love Pappas Bros Steakhouse! We've come here for many of our wedding anniversary dinners and this year was no exception. We are always pleased with the atmosphere, the service and the delicious food. The crab cakes are wonderful as are the salads, (plus the soup of the day was a delightful lobster bisque) and, as always... the steaks. Our waiter this night was Eric & he was fantastic. We always have good conversation with Steve the Sommelier and he gives great recommendations. And to top the evening off, they gave us a decadent chocolate cake for dessert to celebrate our special day. We would recommend this beautiful restaurant to anyone and know you won't be disappointed either."
