A word from Paparazzi Ristorante Italiano
Paparazzi is dedicated to the idea that every guest should be treated like a star. The restaurant reflects the philosophy of blending the classical and neo-classical elements of everyday Italian life. The menu offers classical Italian dishes that have become part of the American tapestry, while introducing its fair share of the interpretive, creative, and innovative. The regional recipes are authentic and passed down from generation to generation. They are marked by freshness and seasonality. The WOOD-FIRED OVEN, visible from every seat in the dining room, imparts a special flavor and aroma to the Artisan Pizza as well as other specially prepared dishes. Imaginative desserts put an exclamation point on the dining experience.
The Wine List is designed to take the stress out of the selection process. While it is descriptive and friendly, the knowledgeable staff is eager to assist.

Diner Reviews
  • "Food was excellent, great ambiance. Waiter suggestions were right on target"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "Food was excellent, service poor, waiter rude and unpleasant. The food at Paparazzi is always good, but the wait staff is generally not great. It was my husband's birthday dinner and the evening was negatively impacted by the waiter who ignored our table. We had to make multiple requests for our wine and when we tried to engage with the waiter he was distant and rude. He appeared to much more interested in a large table that would result in a bigger tip. It is really too bad, because this restaurant has such an extensive menu, great wine list and delicious food. The décor is very appealing, but I have never had a great waiter at Paparazzi. However, this was by far the worst service experience I had ever had there."

  • "Every time we've been to Paparazzi, the food has been delicious, the waiter and other staff members have been attentive and friendly but not intrusive, and we have not had to wait. The decor is interesting and conducive to a lovely meal. Nice wine list. All they need is tablecloths to be our special occasion restaurant."

  • "I have eaten at Paparazzi many times since it has opened and have always thought the food was worth the price. However, the quality of the food and its presentation has changed, and unfortunately not for the better. "

  • "I took a friend here for a birthday dinner. We found the food to be tasty with large portions. Our server was wonderful, attending to our every need. My only negative was that the bar tender processed the check and significantly short changed me. Fortunately I discovered the error before leaving since the change was to be the servers tip. "

  • "North Raleigh's best Italian restaurant. We highly recommend it."

  • "Papparazzi Ristorante Italiano satisfied each member of our party. The dinner was just delicious, from appetizer to main course to dessert. The lighting was right...we could see without glare or that suspicious darkness of restaurants. We could actually hear the dinner conversation with all six of us talking. The booth seating was spacious and comfortable. There was a good range of dining choices for either the vegetarian or the non-vegetarian...this selection was important for us. The staff members were pleasant, yet efficient. Do we plan to go to Papparazzi's again? Absolutely! "

  • "Very good menu. Also accommodates people with celiac by offering numerous gluten free choices. Food was very good with reasonable prices. Service was very good. A sign of a good restaurant is whether or not we will go back. We will go back and add to our favorite restaurant list."

  • "I try and go to paparazis at least once every two weeks. The food is so great. I found a new appetizer this week, a meatball with Parmesian cheese and some sauce. I fave in last night and had some of their famous home made desserts. They were unbelievable. Paparazis has turned into one of my favorite restaurants. Joe senior was there last night and was very accommodating."

  • "We used to go here at least once a week when they first opened. Food and service were terrific. The last several times it has been disappointing. Seems to be under new ownership or management, whatever it is, it's not up to par. Either the food or service is totally off putting. This last time the waiter gave incorrect information about a dish which could have ended up with a potential allergic reaction. When we explained he replied stating, "it's only a little bit in the dish". "

  • "Delicious food! It was perfect for Sunday brunch! Great selection and the service was attentive even though the restaurant was full."

  • "We are VERY picky with restaurants we go to (foodies, if we must say so!) and Paparazzi hit the ball out of the park with this Easter's Brunch. All food was expertly prepared, offered unique recipes and served at the right temperature. Excellent selection of dishes and just the right amount of stations (not overwhelming). What was even more amazing was the service. Our table was always clean and we always had fresh silverware for each course. Trash/papers on the table were promptly removed (my pet peeve!). LOVED the Eggs Benedict and desserts (a very nice selection with proper serving sizes)! Can't wait for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Lobster night! Awesome!"

  • "My whole family was blown away with how nice this brunch buffet was. The different selections they had were great (shrimp cocktail, crab legs, omelet and pass station, grilled veggies, carving bar etc) AND everything tasted wonderful (I feel usually at buffets the quality is compromised). And the wait staff was constantly refilling our glasses, clearing plates and folding napkins when we got up. We come here quite often for dinner but we decided we will have to start coming for brunch too!"

  • "We have eaten here many times for dinner and brunch and we have never been let down. Now that the warmer weather is rolling in, they have outside seating. With out two kids, it allows my wife and I to enjoy a nice meal, some wine, and overall great atmosphere all while allowing the kids to play in the large courtyard setting in Lafayette Village. If you have never been, or it has been a while, make sure you get back out there. Also, with the additional "special" nights of Oyster Night, Crab Night, or even Lobster Night, this is a great place to get lost in!"

  • "Overall we enjoyed our experience at Paparazzi. The restaurant is beautiful, and we were greeted by very friendly staff who were happy to accommodate our request for outdoor seating. Our server was very nice, but I would have expected more attentiveness from her than we got throughout the evening. The food was a little disappointing to me. It was good, but I found nothing notable about either of the two dishes I tried. Both of our entrees were the specials and were highly recommended by the server. We paid $150 for four drinks and four entrees. Too pricey for average food in my opinion, so I'd have a hard time recommending Paparazzi to a friend."

  • "My friend and I met for an early dinner at papparazi. I had the steak balsamic salad and she had the chicken parm. We both were very impressed with every aspect of our dining experience. Everything was top-notch. This place is a mostly unknown gem but very worth seeking out."

  • "We had a great birthday dinner for our daughter and her family. Food and service were excellent. It was her first time there and she loved it."

  • "Salad description did not say bacon, for a vegetarian it was an unpleasant surprise to see a big piece of meat on the salad so watch out. Pizza was fresh but had no flavor, they didn't offer any parmisian, nor did the waitress check on us until it was too late to ask for it. We sat fir a good half hour until they brought the bread during the appetizer. Espresso was not strong enough and we were told it didn't come stronger, and the tea water was luke warm- waitress almost spilled it onto customer. When we first got there we were told the window table that was empty was for a reservation, and we had a reservation. I felt that there was not a manager working because for such a beautiful restaurant they really had no clue what they were doing."

  • "I love this restaurant. I love the food, service and the atmosphere. I am going to try LOBSTER NIGHT tonight!"

  • "This is the best Italian restaurant I have found in Raleigh. Last night we tried two different appetizers and two different main courses and couldn't believe how good they tasted. The wine list is good. The tables seem to be oversized which means we were more comfortable. My wife had the Eggplant parmigan and thought it was outstanding. She also loved their Napoleon Pizza. I had the Spaghetti with Bolognese sauce as well as the meatball appetizer. The sauces on each of our entries was spectacular. I saw you had an oyster night as well as a Easter Brunch. We hope to make both."

  • "My husband and I came to Paparrazi for a date night. We were seated in the small half-round booth which is cozy and our favorite place to sit. Our waitress was excellent. She friendly, helpful and gave excellent service. She recommended the flounder special which was excellent. The chef came to our table and we enjoyed talking with him. Martinis were fixed just perfect. Thank you for a great evening"

  • "We live within minutes of Paparazzi and it has become our "go-to" place. Their menu has expanded since they first opened and we can always find something different that sounds good, even if we've just been. My favorites are the Salmon Portofino and the pork chop ww/brussel sprouts. Solid vegetarian/gluten-free menu, which matters in my family. Good wine list. Great outside seating on the rim of the Lafayette Village courtyard-provided you don't mind people meandering about. Joe, the owner, is very personable. Wait staff are usually spot on."

  • "We love the food and the ambiance of Paparazzi. They have a pizza bar that is fun to sit at. You can enjoy ordering anything off the menu while watching the skilled pizza maker create delicious fresh pizzas as the orders pour in. The setting of the restaurant is very romantic and warm. The food is delicious. I've enjoyed everything I've tried so far. On this past visit, we sat at a regular table and appreciated the size of it...big enough for 4 comfortably, but still cozy enough so that the two of us were still close. It was a little noisy, but that's OK. Everything else about the night was just right. We'll be back!"

  • "We chose Paparazzi on Saturday 3/1 for our birthday dinner and we were so glad we did! First good sign is was very busy so we knew you were somewhere good. The hostess was gracious and professional. Our server, Rick, established with us once he brought the first round of drinks that we were there to savor and enjoy our experience so his timing was impeccable the whole evening. He had great knowledge of the food, presented the specials wonderfully and was always right there as glasses approached empty, but never making us feel rushed. The dishes were all superb, hot and timely with nice spacing between courses. Favorites were the Burrata and mushroom ravioli. Hope we return sooner than later. Thanks for making this a night to remember!!"

  • "From the wine list, to the Burrata (best I've had in Raleigh), to the lovely ambiance, everything was wonderful. We stopped in before the symphony and had a great dinner. My wife had a perfect pizza, and I had the Salmon Portofino (sp?). The server informed me that they serve the salmon medium temp, unless I'd like it cooked more. I said medium was fine, and it did come out slightly overcooked (the only disappointing thing about our visit), but still delicious. Service was excellent throughout."

  • "My husband and I along with my daughters dined for Valentines. The restaurant was very pleasant and the food was great. My oldest had the special and enjoyed it very much. I waiter suggested it after she ask him about the choices. He was very helpful and answered any question we had...we will return again because I would love to have wood fired pizza. The smell were very appealing"

  • "The only Italian restaurant in the area with good Italian bread. (It should be served with roasted garlic in olive oil, as Georgio's once did,) Everything on the well-rounded menu is done well. The waitstaff is attentive and caring ("Rick" is especially good), and Joe, the owner, provides engaging conversation if that's to your liking. Paparazzi's wine list is OK. I'm a fan of deep, full-bodied reds (such as those they tap off huge barrels in the cafes of Rome)--and the Piane di Maggio from Montepulciano has no equal in this area as far as I know. A fully-pleasant, all-around experience."

  • "We had a great experience at Paparazzi. The service was really great, the food was fantastic, the wine list was good and well priced, the desert was incredible, we had the red velvet cake, it was huge and delicious. I will definitely go back, and would definitely recommend that you give it a try."

  • "Nice place, nice staff, but food was below average. In Italy they would kill for such a lame food they are serving. Pasta was overcooked, the sauce was tasteless, the meat was dry. They do have a nice variety of vines, cocktails. We once were there on Lobster night, and it was a nice experience. But otherwise would not recommend."
