Diner Reviews
  • "I haven't been to this Paparazzi in a year or so. Maybe it was an off night. The chicken risotto with mushrooms was tasteless. I'll give it another year......."

  • "Got together with a group of 7 cousins coming from various townds around Wellesley. Most were coming from work and traveling Rt 128 so traffic was a concern. Our reservation was 6:15 but some were there early and others late. That was not an issue, the early arrivers were seated early. And while we waited for the late comer, the waitress was very patient and did not pressure us. This made the night much more enjoyable than it could have been. We ended up there for over 3 hrs and never felt that we overstayed our welcome. This was our 2nd time meeting here and we will be back. The location is good, the food is great, the staff pleasant, and the atmosphere very welcoming. Thanks!"

  • "Dinner is always great, but the service was terrible. Our server was new or distracted. We weren't acknowledged for far too long. He swayed side to side as he told us the specials, removed the wine list when he brought water. The fabulous focaccia didn't come until we'd nearly finished our apps, and asked a 2nd time. He said was still in the oven. But when it came, it was room temperature. Later, he said he'd spoken to the chef, and our dinners would be out soon. Really? He took my knife when he cleared my app, but didn't replace it, and it was hard to get his attention as he stood at the computer, arms around two other servers. And then he brought steak knives for veal scaloppine and veal shank - just in case. No. It was marred the visit."

  • "Let me first start by saying that the food is always delicious! The service was great as well and they were very accommodating when we had to wait far too long for our meal, they offered a few dessert on them."

  • "We ended up making a last minute reservation on Friday night and was glad we had since there was about a 30 min wait when we arrived. Within about 5 min or so we were seated, but then proceeded to sit for another 15 min before I flagged the manager (? Josh). He was more than apologetic that we were overlooked (possibly because in a quieter corner) - and offered appetizers and a beverage which was appreciated. We haven't eaten here in a while, but the meals were as good as I remembered - the cavatappi with eggplant was yummy as was my husband's chicken with risotto. Our server did a good job as well - but the manager really went out of his way to be sure we were taken care of - greatly appreciated! Will be back...."

  • "We have often come to the Wellesley Papa Razzi and always liked it. Very good food and generally good service. However something has changed, and not for the better. We noticed it when we first entered. Not that busy on a Friday night (I now understand why). The vibe was not great on entering and it went downhill from there. The service experience was, well a complete disaster. Getting waited on and even getting the check so we could pay and leave turned out to be major efforts. Too bad, I do like their food, but based on the decline in service we will not be returning."

  • "Never going back Took 30 min to get bread. Food just fair. Tables on top of eachother. Manager was good after we spoke to him."

  • "Very nice restaurant, although traffic in area heavy, and very limited in restaurant parking lot. Usually end up trying to find a spot (with meter) on the street. Otherwise ambience, food, and service all very good."

  • "They have a very impressive gluten free menu, which is why I wanted to go there in the first place. When I ordered my dish, the waiter asked me if it was by choice or if I was allergic. I thought this as strange. I don't have celiac but wheat really upsets my stomach. I should not have to explain this to a waiter. They never brought out our salad, and I sat for quite sometime waiting for someone to bring out parmesan cheese for my pasta. The check also took a long time. I would go back as the food was outstanding, but with a little bit of hesitation."

  • "I have been to PappaRazzi Many times and took a friend who had never been. We were lucky and got the Fireplace table on a cold night. Our waiter started out great but then just didn't make the mark. My friend asked if she could have a double appetizer order as her Main Course and was assured she could. However as our ordering went on - it was clear he thought she wanted the app as a main course. We tried 3 times to correct him and he turned and walked off. Her 1 app was brought as a main course. She enjoyed it but he never got it. This would never stop me from going back as this is a wonderful restaurant - I would just choose not to have that waiter again."

  • "Gallo al forno continues to be a terrific dish. The new menu is easier to manipulate than the old, big book like menu."

  • "Excellent selection of fine meals for someone on a gluten-free diet"

  • "We had a late night reservation for a large group. Restaruant was not busy so service was good."

  • "The waitress seemed inexperienced. She spilled the water -- no big deal but kept apologizing. The bread came right before the entrees and the appetizer never showed up. Waitress was apologetic but she didn't seem ready for her own table. It was a birthday celebration but we decided to go to stop somewhere on the way home instead of ordering dessert there. Everything just took too long."

  • "bread and salad check. stick with those or the pizza, the entrees are over sauced and bland. sound and look far better than they taste. won't make the mistake again. we could have eaten at our favorite restaurant for the price. way too expensive for less than average far."

  • "I'm a frequent diner at all the Papa Razzis for business lunch/dinners. The food and service has been consistently great."

  • "The manager came over after we ordered and said that he was out of my wife's order. She ordered something else. Then when the meals came, she got her order and I got something else which was different than I ordered. They mixed up what was not available. This is the second time we had a bad experience here, and we won't go back. I think the basic problem is that they are understaffed. Between handling a number of tables for each waiter and all the orders that are pick-ups, they aren't able to handle it."

  • "We've been to Papa Razzi a few times already and each time were delighted with the food, it's lovely!! Highly recommended!! Service isn't as speedy as we're accustomed, but not exactly awful. Would definely recommend for a nice celebratory dinner. Don't forget to leave room for dessert!!"

  • "We use this restaurant because it's convenient. The menu hasn't changed in what feels like years. The waiter had an attitude you don't use with a party of 9. Food was average. Space is beautiful. Will rethink going here again for any occasion."

  • "There are a couple of reasons for going to Papa Razzi-Wellesley. One is our son-in-law worked there in the past and we would frequent the Burlington store, and the food is good. Two, our friends do not live near us so between three couples we figured Papa Razzi-Wellwsley was the place."

  • "I was disappointed you do not offer the veal shank entre anymore. That was my favorite dinner choice! I do enjoy the wine, salads and shrimp/spinach appetizer. We also appreciate the excellent waiters we have had. The Benecard is encouragement enough to keep going back."

  • "We had a 7pm reservation thru Open Table. Arrived at 6:50pm, were told we'd be seated in 10 mins. Had a drink at the bar (standing room only). Had another drink .. 30 mins. later my wife went to ask the hostess about our table (7:20pm). The hostess seemed surprised and said they would seat us immediately (?). Once seated in dining room, we were surrounded by three (3) families with smallish children (all of course with ipads, smartphones, etc). Not very romantic, not that we should have expected that, I guess. It must be how people do Val. Day in Wellesley. We live on the south shore and used to frequent the now-closed Paparazzi in Hanover. The services was spotty but the food was good as were the desserts."

  • "I took my girlfriend to Papa Razi for Valentine's day and I couldn't have been more pleased. We were both very pleased with the service, the food and the free valet parking. The bread and oil they served us was to die for. The warm bread that practically melts in your mouth is where it's at. And the spivey olive oil they have with it is perfect. She got the chicken parm and I got the lobster ravioli. She said that this was the best she ever had. Not too much pasta and a huge piece of thing sliced chicken was cooked and sauced perfectly. The lobster ravioli was stuffed with delicious lobster meat. I got the coconut brownie which was hot chocolate in an Irish coffee mug with Captain Morgan and Malibu. Perfect!"

  • "Firstly, the focaccia alone is worth the visit; make sure you get some that is warm. For appetizers, the fried calamari, bruschetta and mozzarella fritta are superb. We had 5 main dishes: gnocchi that was adored, salmon and a pasta and eggplant that were also huge successes, as was the veal parmigiana. I had chicken piccata, and although the flavor was lovely, most of the 5 or 6 thin medallions of chicken breast were overlooked and dry. The one that wasn't was wonderful. Had it been just two of us, I would have asked for a replacement, but with a larger group, decided not to fuss. My husband loves the tiramisu, others had the apple crisp, gelato and chocolate cake, all truly delightful."

  • "It was very busy when we got there...had a short wait. I met up with an old friend in town on business...the location was ideal for her to travel out of Boston and have easy access to the Pike, routes 128, 16 and 9. Initally our server seemed on the ball, but our wine glasses sat empty for a long while until we had to ask the passing manager for more. She made no apology when returning with the wine...disappointing."

  • "We went on a Sat night and arrived at the same time as many others. The host and hostess greeted us cordially, made eye contact! and seated us a soon as possible. I watched as staff buzzed by in a busy but purposeful way. The waitstaff attended to our needs in a friendly and efficient manner. I observed management stop at tables and check in with patrons. I commented to one of the managers who had stopped by our table that the restaurant appeared to be well run. He said they work very hard on their restaurant and customer service. We replied.."It shows..well-done"."

  • "We had reservations for 8:30 but showed up early by an hour (light airport traffic) the staff took it in stride and very accommodating. Our dinner and service were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the ambience. We were seated by the fireplace and loved the warmth of the fire and the atmosphere."

  • "The Boston area does not offer great Italian food (mainly Southern Italian). Paparazzi, though a chain (a small one), offers excellent food in a very nice setting. The menu offers good variety without going overboard (large menus generally translate into bad food). The food is very fresh and flavorful. Excellent wine list with good variety. The food is consistently good, as is the service. Prices are moderate and, given the quality, a good value. I highly recommend Paparazzi."

  • "I have read mixed reviews of this place. Overall decent quality food at an affordable price. Nice wine options but a little limited with their by the glass choices and beer. Nice ambiance and image that was notably more upscale than the price point of the food. Staff were nice and our waiter was average. I would return."

  • "I've had this problem before at Papa Razzi, which is that for some reason they get really backed up at the hostess table. It took more then 10 minutes for us to get seated even though we had a reservation. They really need to address this problem, maybe by hiring another person or something, it isn't that complicated. Once seated, the food was fine though the waitress was overly solicitous. Overall it was an ok experience."

  • "Overall, the food was very good, but not the real smash success that it was on a previous visit. Sometimes, its not fair to put your expectations too high."

  • "Always a great meal. Glad to see they are changing their menu in March. Although the food is good, it will be nice to see some new offerings on their list."

  • "I have been to several of the Papa Razi locations and they never disappoint. Everything is clearly freshly made and delicious. My personal favorite is the lobster ravioli. The service there is very good and they will accommodate your allergy needs or special requests without any issue. I will continue to return to Papa Razi locations when I am feeling like having a good meal!"

  • "Service wasn't great, the salads we're ok, but our entrees left much to be desired. Don't order the pizza -- somehow it was worse than any that I've ever had"

  • "We went on a Monday night and the place seemed quite busy. Service was a bit slow but maybe the group size didn't help. We did have to hunt our server down to get the bill. I had the butternut squash ravioli, a special that night, and it was delicious."
