Diner Reviews
  • "Went here for a second date, the atmosphere and food were perfect. We had an amazing time and were able to feel as though we were the only two people there"

  • "Recently our Papa Razzi in Concord has been through new mgmt and has been suffering - our dinner Saturday night was a great blast from the past! the service was as expected, the food very good and delivered in timely manner and the mgr came over to comment and ask how we were doing in light of a recent review for poor service. They even provided dessert and dessert wine on the house for the past experience. It was a very welcome gesture and one that made us feel they were listening and wish to maintain our business. GREAT Job! and we will be back."

  • "Our all time favorite restaurant has changed for the worse with the change in management. The food was mediocre, the caesar salad which we love, was very soggy. I ordered the special rib eye and was so surprised at the way it appeared on the plate in small sliced up pieces. I thought I was going to get a full ribeye steak. The cut or the way it was cut made it appear and taste less than what I had hoped, such as all different heat consistency, some pieces were well done and others were medium rare when I asked for medium. the veal parmagiana and pasta was also smaller in size than in the past. Many of our friends that were repeat customers have also discussed the change and the disappointment in food portion and quality."

  • "I heard there is a new chef and the food was the best I have had at a Pappa-Razzi!"

  • "I was told that Papa Razzi was bought and has new owners. That is why the menu is different. There are only half the choices. I am vegetarian and always found the old Papa Razzi a great place to go with lots of options. This is no longer true. This particular restaurant in Concord has always been consistent. Out of all the Papa Razzi restaurants you could always count on getting the same dish. I don't think I will be going back as much. The desert menu stayed the same."

  • "We've enjoyed Papa Razzi for decades, ever since it opened in Concord. The food has been consistently good to excellent and the service friendly. Sadly, I have to report that the past few times we've eaten there the service has been way too slow. I suspect they've scaled back their wait staff too much, for whatever reason. The overall experience is still quite good, but the slow service does take its toll."

  • "We have dined at paparazzi numerous times. And only had nigh praises for the food. Thus time the food was way to salty. The risotto reminded me of chicken noodle soup that. I had as a child. The chicken in the risotto was old and shredded. The service wad mediocre at best. It will be a longtime before we hi again."

  • "Visited Concord location with 6 others on a busy Friday evening. With reservation, we were seated promptly. Food was very good as expected, since we (my husband and I) enjoy the Framingham restaurant regularly. Each of us chose a different entree and all were pleased with our selections. Service was a bit slow but didn't dampen our evening. It was 1st time at Papa Razzi's for the other guests. All agreed we should meet there again."

  • "We have been going to Papa Razi in Boston and Concord for a long time. The food is usually pretty good; occasionally outstanding. while somewhat formulaic and predictable, there can be comfort in knowing you will get a decent meal nearby. It just seems like the last few times that we have been to the Concord location, the food and the service have been mediocre. You know, not terrible where you'd like to get up and run, but I have to say that its pretty disappointing now. Kind of like it has seen its time and now its over. I hope that the owner of this small chain group can wake up and either reinvent himself a new concept, or put some much needed life into the existing units. Otherwise, I think your following will go elsewhere!"

  • "My husband and I call(ed) Papa Razzi our home away from home, we might eat here at least one time a week. Recently they are under new management and the changes are not good. The staff seems to be different, the care and concern that was classic Papa Razzi is gone. We waited 15 minutes for a 7pm reservation - thats acceptable on a Friday night, then another 15 minutes+ before anyone came to greet us,15minutes to get the wine order and this bad service just continued. The food was ok - not the usual. I hope this is just a passing change over but concerned as the service and food has been inconsistent the last 3 times we have eaten here. Very, very disappointed as this is not the Papa Razzi we know and Love!"

  • "We haven't been to Papa Razzi's in a while, but have always liked it. On this visit, it seemed like they upped their game. The service was excellent and they paid particular attention to my gluten-free needs. The food has always been very, very good and it was again. Management was very attentive to all the customers, which I appreciated. I felt that they really cared about the service and food they provided. We can't wait to go back."

  • "They were easily able to accommodate my soy allergy -- I believe that everything is made fresh, and they use top-line ingredients. I will definitely return."

  • "Paparazzi is very consistent. We can always count on getting a tasty meal, good service and good atmosphere. I always recommend it and come often."

  • "We have been dining at Papa Razzi very frequently for years and have been concerned about how the recent change in ownership would affect the restaurant. The experience has gotten noticably worse over the past month or so. They are less friendly about special food requests. The menu has changed a bit with them getting rid of my wife's favorite shrimp dish. The service during our most recent meal was painfully slow. One visit prior to that, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. Royal screw-ups in take-out orders have returned. (This was a problem under the previous ownership, but one they finally managed to get under control.) It's a shame to such a good thing going downhill."

  • "One of the great things about PapaRazzi is its consistency - great food, a lot of fun & an attentive but not intrusive staff. At my most recent dinner there, 2 in the party had food allergy issues, and the staff was terrific in handling, ensuring that those guests had food they could eat & presenting it seamlessly. Thanks, PapaRazzi!"

  • "I've been going to Papa Razzi for about 20 years off and on. I always swear the place off for the same reasons - the crisis atmosphere in the entryway, the din, uneven service - but reluctantly come back for the convenience and the quality of the food. This time I was struck by the quality of the carpaccio and the agnolotti. They were excellent - much better than they needed to be. So in spite of the food factory dining experience, I expect that I'll be back again someday."

  • "We were a party of 9, We had a wonderful meal and the service was terrific."

  • "I walked away disappointed. Took the family and the food seems to be more and more of the "pulled it out of the freezer" type - take the raviolis my son had for instance. I had a the special 12oz ribeye, which was not 12oz and came out sliced up, which I was a not expecting. A rather bland Gorgonzola cheese sauce, which was really just some salad dressing in a small bowl. You can tell that they are cutting costs - no butter with the breadsticks, just a small amount of oil with the bread (used to have individual bottles on the table.) Menu is smaller, fewer items and it seems like they have raised prices beyond the quality level of the food, which seems to have declined. Service is always very friendly. Overall, not horrible, not great"

  • "This trip to Papa Razzi's was met with a few issues. The waiter thinks that a side salad is the same as a mega salad. The waiter also didn't say anything about my chewy veel. However, the manager apologized and refunded half the check. The waiter spent a great deal of time telling us what the kitchen didn't do rather than what they could do for us. In the end, I sent him back and we got what we wanted."

  • "It has been a few years since I went to this location. The food was as good as I remembered. Considering the quality of food, the prices are completely reasonable. Very friendly and engaged service. I've vowed to visit more often."

  • "For a chain restaurant that was very busy on a Sunday evening, Papa-Razzi's food and service are very good. My steak was tender and cooked exactly as requested; a salad of greens and light lemon dressing was fresh and truly light. They seem to have it down. I wouldn't 't hesitate to go there."

  • "Food was delicious. Have been to Papa Razzi quite a few times, but it seems like they have kicked up the quality. I had the haddock special and my partner had chicken picatta. Both were cooked perfectly. We shared a shrimp and spinach appetizer that was also prepared perfectly. I appreciate that there are some healthier options on the menu. I think wine and alcohol prices are a little bit out of line with the area. The only knock would be having lukewarm coffee served after dinner with cognac."

  • "Nice local restaurant with very good food in general. Unfortunately, this was a bit of an off night. But we will return as we have a very positive history of dining experiences here."

  • "I reserved a table to celebrate my wedding anniversary. Unfortunately we had a snow storm that day. The restaurant called a 3 h before the reservation time to tell me that it was canceled. They left a message & never try to reach us again. It was good that I saw that message when we were getting ready. I called the restaurant to tell how disappointed we were about our anniversary plans. I asked if other time can be offered the next day. I was told that the place is booked. They never offered any compensation or any other special. Even when I asked about that they didn't offer anything, even something like free desert!!! I would never expected that kind of treatment from such classy place. Our evening was ruined."

    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "I've been a fan of Paparazzi for many years, but they seem not to have hired enough staff to handle their work. This visit was Valentine's Day, which explains some lapses in service. Entrees arrived about an hour after we ordered. My "medium rare" steak showed a little visible pink in less than half of the steak; don't know whether it got overcooked in a warming tray waiting for the other dinner, but in any case it was mediocre at best. The other food was pretty good (nice focaccia) but nothing special. Every change seemed to be in the wrong direction. For example, the bread basket used to arrive with a little butter to dip the bread sticks in; now replaced by weakly flavored oil."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The food and service are always great here... but I think the prices are high for the dinner entrees..... lunch is the better way to go but for Birthday dinners we'll go there and pay the $18 for chicken. it was yummy anyway!"

  • "As a gluten free patron this restaurant was absolutely amazing. There are not a lot of restaurants that have SAFE gluten free options, pappa razzi does. I will absolutely recommend this to others and will be back for many meals!"

  • "We had been long time loyal fans of Concord Papa Razzi but recently had bad a few experiences, poor service and marginal food....but we thought after a few months that we should give it another try and glad we did. The food was excellent and the service back to what we were used to....very good experience,"

  • "we always have loved the food at PapaRazzi but they just changed their menu and it was wonderful. New food choices and many half portion options which is what I love in particular. Our waiter Igor was great! And I have NEVER eaten a Panna Cotta like the one we shared Tuesday night - not in a million years have I tasted something so delicious! Well done!"

  • "I have been dining at this PapaRazzi for over a dozen years. Friday night, 1/24, had to be one of the worst dining experiences at this PapaRazzi, or any restaurant I have ever had. First, the hostess is one of the haughtiest, rudest and most condescending hostesses I have ever experienced. Secondly, our waiter, although very nice, rushed and bird-dogged us throughout our meal. It was truly off-putting. When diners are enjoying cocktails and a higher priced bottle of wine, I don't expect to be treated as if we are cheapos ordering water and Cokes. I had servers moving my drink and salad plate, and that of one of my companions (while we were still eating salads) out of the way the make room for main meals. Even more-but not enough space left."

  • "My boyfriend and I stopped for dinner on Saturday night. We had made a reservation and when we arrived the host took our name and whispered something to the lady seating us. She proceeded to lead us past several empty tables in the main dining room to a small back dining room with one other family with a table full of kids. We were sat at a weirdly placed two person table off to the side. The room quickly filled with families with toddlers and we realized that we had been relegated to the kid section. I was shocked. The food proceeded to be lackluster in flavor. The whole experience was terribly disappointing and insulting."
