Upstairs from our main dining room we have access to 4 rooms as part of the Hotel Wales, the largest of which, the brand new, stylish Carnegie Room, can accommodate up to 80. We specialize in private parties such as Rehearsal Dinners, Weddings, Baptisms, Business Meetings, Bar Mitzvahs and Fundraisers. In addition, there is a glorious roof top space with views of Central Park available in the spring and summer months. The roof terrace accommodates up to 80 and is serviced by a private kitchen.

    There is a cover charge for private spaces and per person menu prices are customized to suit the needs of your event.

    The nearest subway station is 96th Street and Lexington Avenue. The nearest express subway station is 86th Street and Lexington Avenue.

    Bus:
    The M1, M2, M3 and M4 busses all stop directly in front of Paola’s at 92nd and Madison Avenue.

  • Parking Details: After 7 pm, free parking is available on Madison Avenue. Prior to 7 pm, parking can be paid by credit card or coins at the Muni Meter kiosks , after which the receipt should be displayed inside the car on the dashboard. Side street parking is free, but be careful to observe alternate side of the street parking rules indicated on the signs. The nearest parking garage is located on 94th Street between Madison & Park Avenues.

  • "We were a party of 4, they frequent Paola's fairly often and they were able to get a corner table making it a little less noisy than sitting in the center of the restaurant. Every appetizer and main dish was delicious and beautifully served and we all selected different dishes. We truly enjoyed our experience and the location of Paola's makes it easy for my husband and me to drive there and back from New Jersey. We will definitely be back and will be happy to bring friends with us!"

  • "The tables were packed together, less than a foot apart. Twice during dinner I had to assist older women with canes leaving an adjacent table, which needed to be pushed aside (by me and my companion) - no staff came to assist them. My water glass was empty most of the time. Twice I had to ask for refills. Repeatedly the staff reached over my shoulder, knocking me, to grab used plates and not-quite empty glasses. For these prices, they should be courteous and be more on top of things. The food was good but not amazing."

  • "They were so busy, our reservation was for 8:30 and they did not get us in till 9:00; and then they had to rush the food -our fish was undercooked and I returned it for the pasta which was good. I have to say, this was not my usual experience there and it is a neighborhood hot spot- so I probably will go back again; I generally have a positive experience so will chalk this up to a bad day! Every business has a bad day and well, as they say- 3 strikes and your out- so if the tides are turning we will soon find out"

I've walked by the place for years and assumed it was probably a rather sleepy in the evening. Not so. It was fully booked until 9:00 pm on a Wednesday night. My only complaint was the combination of the tile floor and the lively crowd makes Paolo's a bit noisy. "

  • "Our family party of 10 needed a restaurant in Manhattan for Sunday brunch to celebrate a graduation. A place we could reserve and not wait. My brother recommended Paola's, having dined there several times. The staff were very helpful and accommodating in every aspect, including specially setting up a table in the front corner to seat our full party. (I could only reserve 2 tables of 5 online.) There are a good variety of brunch-appropriate menu items available. The food was very good and well presented. The members of our party ordered a variety of items, all of which pleased. I ordered the frittata, which was superb! The setting was very enjoyable as well. Not elegant, but classy and comfortable enough. Highly recommend!"

This time they were especially accomodating in allowing us, over two weeks, to expand from three people to seven for our reservation (DON'T try this on OpenTable -- you have to call the restaurant!). Everyone was entranced by the food, though I would recommend the chocolate cake over the tiramisu. We will certainly be returning here."

Paola's provides a larger space, with just a little more space inbetween their white table clothed tables, to allow diniing and speaking without entering into your neighbor's conversation at the same time. It has wide windows and even on a rainy evening, it felt air and still cozy. The food presentation was excellent. "

Also I have trouble not ordering just their simple spaghetti in red sauce, it's always perfect! Only complaint it that I felt like they were rushing us out of there! I saw them bring our pastas out when we hadn't even finished our first course......was a bit annoying! The scene is a bit noisy but that only because of the space itself. Otherwise great spot."

  • "The salads were skimpy and obviously made in the morning, because the plates were frozen, the pastas were average, and the expressi after dinner were bitter with a foam that disappeared after the first sip...the service was polite and proper, without a touch of warmth or concern. The room itself we knew about from previous incarnations in the same space, with 20" ceilings (a former supemarket many years ago), and when it's full, the noise level creates the Lombard effect, where everyone feels they have to speak louder than the person next to them in order to be heard. There are too many other good restaurants in this neighborhood for us to return here."
