Panta ReiLovely restaurantMy experience with Panta Rei was excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had a coupon that I realized I couldn't use on Friday night, so the waiter brought a complimentary desert. The carpaccio was delicious and the salmon was cooked perfectly.
All in all, a very positive experience and I will go back.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLocated in old US RestaurantLocated in old US Restaurant space where Columbus and Stockton streets meet. Restaurant is small with LOTS of windows, so any seat in the house is great. All staff is very welcoming and friendly. Great place to get a good Italian meal!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for lunch on a Saturday,We went for lunch on a Saturday, we got there just after they opened (they were still printing the menu for the day). We had a craving for pasta, and since it is harder to find good Italian in Southern CA - we indulged at lunch. We had a great seat by the window, there were also several table outside on the sidewalk. Overall it was good. My wife had the three pasta special. The ravioli (cream sauce) and farfel (pink sauce) were excellent. The gnocchi, less so. I had a spinach and sausage fettuccini with a cream sauce (overall, more cream/pink sauces that I would have expected). It was excellent. The bread was fresh baked and had a great texture and was fantastic with the olive oil. I'd like to go again in an evening.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was about my seventhThis was about my seventh time to Panta Rei, and it didn't disappoint once again! We had a party of four and all the food was fantastic (filet mignon, gnocchi, sea bass and veal), as well as the dessert of tiramisu!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMItalian Gem in North BeachGreat meal. Very authentic. Lively wait staff. Had the gnocchi with shrimp in a pesto sauce and it was fabulous. Our waiter was crazy running back and forth from table to table. He was a real Italian too! My son had fun talking to him in Italian. Highly recommend this place.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Italian PastasWe were going to a 9:45 show at Cobb's Comedy Club and wanted to find a reasonably priced but good restaurant in the area. Panta Rei was a great find! Food was amazing. The Linguine Neri was one of the best pasta & seafood dishes I have ever had. The raviolis that others had were equally good. They have a very reasonably priced wine list of mostly Italian wines. Tiramisu for desert was a winner. 4 people for dinner with splitting an appetizer and a desert, four pasta dishes,a side of asparagus,a bottle of wine and an espresso with sambuca for about $150 including tip! I'd go back here in a heartbeat. I wish it were closer to Pleasanton; I'd eat there weekly! You can't go wrong here and as a Native New Yorker I'm picky about Italian.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
