Both Jen and Michael were attentive. They asked the right questions. They exemplified how wait staff should be to their patrons. The food was very good. I enjoyed my gnocchi and my friend enjoyed her orichette with sausage and brocolli rabe. The Limicello cake and classic creme brulee are #1. We would come back just for those desserts alone. Overall, it was a great dining experience. It's also a BYOB. On a side note, they do offer one glass of wine or sangria, if you so choose. :)

My family and I (6 people) had an outstanding experience at Panini's. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like we were coming into someone's home. It was a delectable meal, everyone enjoyed their meal! Thank you to the staff of Panini's for a wonderful evening.

The meal was so much better than I anticipated, and the name of the restaurant is misleading. It should be called Panini's and So Much More. The offer of a complimentary glass of wine at this BYOB was certainly appreciated.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Panini's. Staff was so great with our kids and the food was delicious. A mix of traditional Italian fare (I had chicken parmesan) and newly inspired dishes ( my husband had a chicken dish with spinich and squash). We had a unique house salad and delicious vegetable bruchutto. Its byob or you can enjoy free house wine. Prices are very reasonable.

Finding great Italian cuisine in the city for a reasonable price is very hard to find. I am unsure if the deal stands all the time, but getting a complimentary glass of red, white wine, or sangria really added to the experience. Great sidewalk seating or indoor seating, if that is what you desire. I have been here twice now, and after this past experience I plan on attending more frequently.

At Panini's they aim to please. The menu is old-school red-gravy Italian. Quite good and very inexpensive, considering the high rents that have been coming in the neighborhood. Due to its Old City/Tourist Zone location, they do a bit of sidewalk huckstering to lure customers in. So it's a bit of Bourbon Street that probably isn't necessary, and when you're dining outside (which can be noisy along the Market Street bus route) it's a little off-putting. It's a little like a really good spaghetti restaurant in the middle of a high-pressure car dealership.

Food was unexpectedly spectacular. Maybe the best lasagna I have ever eaten. My entire party of 9 loved their dishes. We enjoyed our meal outside in a nice setting across the street from the Old Post Office, just a couple blocks from Independence Park. The inside of the restaurant is quite small, but still charming Service not great. I feel like they were short handed as everything seemed to take too long. Took a long time to take our order and get our food. Same with refills, check, etc. But if on a date or casual outing with friends this would be no big deal. With 3 kids under 7 it felt like an eternity sometimes. But the food was quite worth the wait. Yummy Italian we were still talking about by the end of our time in Philly.

We checked out places in Old City using Open Table, but found few offering many vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. My friend and I ate indoors on this hot June evening, despite no air-conditioning and ample seating in the shade on the sidewalk, because we desired to chat quietly. The wait staff, abundantly solicitous, suggested we not order appetizer salads as the main course came with a salad. Our entrees arrived tastefully prepared and appropriately hot in temperature. Although its BYOB, we each received a complimentary glass of wine. We shared a delicious lemon marscapone cake for dessert. I would definitely return here, with some advance strategic planning based on the daytime temperature/humidity and conversation needs.

I used to come here for lunch when I worked at a nearby theatre. It was delicious and affordable then, and nothing has changed. They accommodated our group last minute for a celebration with friends and were very nice and excited to have us. They talked about the menu with us and kept our wine and champagne glasses full. Thank goodness we brought all those bottles. No corking fee. Has some good vegetarian options and a large menu. We had the grilled calamari for appetizers and then each ordered an entree, then we all split desserts. We each tried everything. Nothing wasn't delicious, but the gnocchi were a standout as were all of the desserts. I'll be back there again soon. Thank you for making such a special night so much better.

First of all, who doesn't love a BYOB restaurant? It was hard (if not impossible) reserving a table for a big party in old city five days beforehand. Luckily I found this place. It's pretty small and a little cramped. The food was okay, not extraordinary. And the servers were nice given that our party was an hour late and we stayed past their closing time.

We had a long weekend in Philly with a group of 6 family members - including teenagers with not very adventurous palates. This place fit the bill. The staff worked hard but seemed to be somewhat novices. Menu ranged from spaghetti and meatballs to a seafood pesce with calimari which was pretty well done. Prices were reasonable. Located in the old city so easily walkable.

We had the fried calamari appetizer, the linguini alfredo with shrimp and eggplant parm. The shrimp were outstanding, and the alfredo sauce was rich but not overly creamy. The eggplant, however, was so tough and stringy I had to saw through it with a knife. Seriously. It was awful.

The staff is all a little off and for an Italian restaurant the waitress was not verse in the Italian menu lingo. The head waiter would check in on us every 30 seconds or so even when we didnt have our food and made it a point to find out who ordered the Sea Bass to relay to the chef, which was odd. The food ended up being very good so would definitely go back.

I can't give a fair review of Panini's because when we got there, they had our reservation but did not have a table for us. They apologized but had no feasible solution except for us to wait. With a long wait for us, we decided to go somewhere else. Looked like a nice place but be warey of making reservations if you need a definite plan!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2013
    Dined on 11/16/2013
Panini's was not up to par on this evening. The bread was cold, dry and served with frozen solid butter (no olive oil?...) we all ordered the same salad yet each salad was different; some with tomatoes, some with croutons and some with nothing but poorly flavored greens. The entrees didn't come as advertised but with different pasta i.e. spaghetti instead of fusilli, etc. and they didn't let us know this ahead of time. Overall- we were underwhelmed. We won't go here again.

I had a simple wrap that was pretty good but the other 5 members of my party were disappointed with their meals. We basically ordered 3 wraps and 3 paninis but it took forever and 4 of the 6 were cold. Lastly, and maybe it was just a bad batch but the unsweetened Iced Tea tasted like a dish rag. Just saying! We won't be going back.

For oversized portions, moderately priced, and a complimentary glass of wine , this is the place. Inside seating can be a little tight if you have a large party. There is sidewalk seating. Try the chicken marinated in a delicate wine sauce and topped with mushrooms. Top your salad with fresh cracked pepper. If one glass of wine isn't enough , BYOB.

I made a reservation for a group of 8. The restaurant was not aware of the reservation even though it was confirmed through open table. Our waitress got our orders mixed up & one person's order was not made at all. My panini was described as turkey, pesto and provolone but the turkey was smoked turkey which is very salty. If I had known this, I would not have ordered it. I won't be back.

On a whim i decided to try some new places to eat, so i searched the 1000 point section for something close to where i was currently driving and discovered Panini's. It was lunch time and the restaurant was 100% empty, so my review will only be on the food. A chicken wrap, and a salmon burger were ordered as well as a canoli (spelling). The wrap was ehh - decent, the salmon burger was very good, and the dessert was very good as well. The place is small, so i would suspect if it ever did get busy, then it would be a extremely tight fit to move about and find your table. I enjoyed the place and i will be going again. It wasnt mind blowing, but for the price paid (total bill $20) for a quick bite to eat, this will definitely stay on my list.

The restaurant is on Market which is easy to get to by cab or Septa. It is a BYOB so they told us there was a wine shop on 2nd St. We were immediately sat and made welcome with friendly service. I want to start off and say that the service was good, no complaints on the service or the establishment. The food on the other hand is what has provided my low score. For the appetizers and soup/salad: chicken vegetable soup tasted and smelled of feet, Calamari was excellent but for $12.95 we received about 10 small pieces, bread, if that is what we can call it, was so stale and hard and wasn't even delightful to eat or use to dip into sauce, which is one of the best things of going to an Italian restaurant. For the main course we had Safood Risotto, Gnocchis in a Gorgonzola sauce, Chicken Parm and a salad and not many complaints could be said on the food, it wasn't bad, but nothing ro rave about.
