Pangaea offers a unique fine dining experience in Toronto: it is fancy and yet familar. The room is calm, the service friendlly and the environment feels like people who work there own it and love it

We had another lovely light lunch here on a quiet Saturday. A dozen oysters, east and west coast, a terrific salad with figs, goat cheese and a mustard dressing, a shared chocolate souffle, and a glass of wine. Simply lovely. The review should be 4 ½.

The dining experience at Panagaea was wonderful. The food was great. Our waiter was friendly and the service was quick considering the restaurant was quite busy. Some nice classical or soft music would have been good as the ceilings are high and the acoustics sharp. The restaurant is open concept and it was a little hard to hear my dining friend at times. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you!

We went to this restaurant and ordered the Winterlicious menu. Some of the items were the same as their regular menu but we soon found out that only the name of the dish was the same. The portions were very small. I mean very small. The food tasted good but I am glad we paid 35$ a person. Will I go back? Not sure. This left a sour taste in my mouth. They should have charged 45$ and offer the real thing.

We chose to come to Pangaea for this year's summerlicious because we've been there before and always had great food and great service. I ordered the mushroom soup, seared tuna and the chocolate souffle cake. The portion of the main course was quite small as it only included three slices of tuna but the flavours were excellent. The soup was a very good portion and the flavouring was great. The cake was not as moist as I was expecting but it was a decent dish. Unfortunately, our waitress was not very friendly. She never once smiled at us and after our food came she never came by to ask how we were doing. She had an annoyed look on her face the entire time. To summarize this experience, great food, poor service.

As a group, we have been to Pangaea for lunch on the last day of Summerlicious. The dining room started out empty at 11:30 and slowly filled so the noise level went from quiet to moderate. The wait staff was friendly and accomodating. Food portions were small but we left feeling full, it was artfully plated and very pleasing to the eye. Thanks Pangaea!

althought the food is good, however, service is extremly poor (3 of us dining last night during the summerlicious, the server whos actually not friendly - propbably we not order any wines..) When we start our main course, my girl friend actually can't eat the duck breast just too raw and request to re-cook. Another waiter listen then (not serve our table) turn to ask our server come to take back the dish. (with very rude manner) and while we ask our server whether she can change another dish for my friend - she just simple say "NO" (the way is so rude at all). After we ordered coffee with dessert, waitress can't wait to give us the bills, kept back and fall to see whether we pay or not.. we strongly felt not be welcome from this restaurant.

The place is situated near the bay/bloor area to fit for fine dining and is decorated nicely. The service was attentive and friendly. Had the Summerlicious menu, which was okay in terms of flavour/variety. The main course was a bit salty, otherwise wasn't bad at all. This place is worth a try for all you foodies out there.

I tried out the dinner menu at Pangaea for Summerlicious. I had the salad, duck and lemon bar for appetizer, main course and desert. The food was great for the most part. As the restaurant is considered fine dining the price was reasonable given the 3 course meal. The portions were small for the main course. However the overall experience was excellent. The server and manager regularly asked if everything was alright. I would consider this restaurant a special occasion restaurant and may come back in the future.

We found this lovely place which is walking distance from our hotel. My fiancee and I were celebrating our engagement and was wondering what a Canadian cuisine would taste like. The food potion is typical of fine dining and it seems abit French with the bread. I wish they gave more bread instead of just one small thin slice each time. We was lucky to be in Toronto in time for Summerlicious, Toronto's restaurant week.

Went there for Summerlicious and was very disappointed. Food portions were extremely tiny; my soup was excellent but the main meal, the duck, was unedible very tough and full of grizzles. I ate there many times before but when they do a winterlicious or summerlicious menu the quantity is ridiculous they probably shouldn't offer that kind of menu as it is detrimental to their reputation.

Pangaea is one of my favorite restaurants and didn't disappoint. The candied beet salad was delicious with a nice tart dressing. I then had the duck and it was beatifully cooked and served with a really tasty puree and vegetables. Dessert was really good as well (caramel ice cream with great sauces) except I didn't really care for the chocolate souffle. It had too much cocoa powder on the outside and I kept breathing that in which wasn't pleasant. I would come back here any time.

Pangaea is a terrific restaurant with consistently excellent food, professional service and a relaxed ambiance. We have been there many times for their regular menu and also during Toronto's restaurant promotions Winterlicious and Summerlicious. Pangaea's prix fixe menu during these promotions is just as excellent as their regular menu. Service is also excellent. This sets them apart from many of the restaurants we have tried during these promotions. They strive for excellence at all times. And make you feel very appreciated and welcome. Pangaea is one of Toronto's top restaurants yet in many ways is a hidden gem. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

5 ladies gathered for dinner and the food was great. Our waiter recommended the Liver and he was absolutely right, melted in your mouth. He was very attentive and had a sense of humour. The soup of the day, cauliflower curry, was also delicious. It was a quiet night, not too busy, being the night before Summerlicious. Please note the Public Transit info on the website is not correct, it is Bay St. exit, not Cumberland. Great Night!

Pangaea is one of my favourite spots. The tables are nicely spaced and the perfect for private conversation. It's a great restaurant for a business meeting or a quiet meal with close friends. The service is attentive but not intrusive and there's always a friendly greeting from co-owner, Peter. The food is of the highest quality, light, great for healthy eating and just delicious. The desserts are special. I just had a beautiful strawberry shortcake with the first local berries of the season. Highly recommended.
