Diner Reviews
  • "Great food but it is noisy, loud music inside and if you seat by the window the traffic noise is very loud, do not mention if there is an ambulance passing by."

  • "Came to dinner with the family Fantastic food and service! We can't wait to return on our next visit. They took such good care of my girls. We will make this a regular stop whenever coming to New York."

  • "Food and service were all top notch. We will be back!!"

  • "I think I'm being kind with this review as the staff is kind of unhelpful. Yes, they get the job done but there is no grace and you have to remind them to do everything........to which the answer is "it's coming". Suggest that gluten is an issue and the response is "this is an old fashioned Italian restaurant and we don't pay attention to that". Food is fine. This was our third time in a year and won't be back. We've only gone because it's easy for one of our friends. Why eat here when there are so many other places?"

  • "With the nice weather on the way Pane e Vino throws open its doors to bring the outdoors inside. Sitting in the front bar area is pleasant and comfortable - sitting in the rear is quiet with nicely spaced tables. The menu is varied and the food delicious and beautifully presented. A good place to go after shopping nearby or before going to the theater at 59 E 59."

  • "We live right next door to this place. One of the first nights after we moved in, we went here and it's been out favorite spot ever since. The gnocchi and penne are our go-tos as well as the bruschetta and beef carpaccio. We eat here a few times every month. Great little local find, highly recommended."

  • "What a pleasure to be served by a waiter who enjoys what he does. My friend and I had a really fun evening."

  • "The food was really wonderful. The wait staff was very good and pleasant. First impressions are the best and this place made a very good one."

  • "We have been coming here for years. Everytime we go to New York, (we are from Philadelphia) we always try to stop here for dinner. Service is fantastic. Food is great. This time we were able to sit at the open window since the weather was beautiful. "
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "The menu is reasonable; however, beware of the specials. They are the same foods, but 1.5 times as much as the menu items. For example all the lunch pastas are $15, but the special, just rigatoni w barely any sauce was $20. We used to like this place w their price fixed lunch. It's not worth $100 plus for a little lunch here. Also, they used to have good bread; they now serve stale, left over bread. It's just not worth the money."

  • "This restaurant is a great find in a neighborhood crowded with small stores and good for dinner before going to 59 E. 59th. The service is attentive and friendly. "

  • "It was just absolutely amazing . The ambiance, decor, staff was just phenomenal"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "We appeared to be the only customers not known to the staff on a familiar basis. While the food was superb and I would return for that reason we were virtually ignored by the wait staff"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "My chicken dish was delicious. The sauce was special. We dined early and do not know about noise. Everything was good."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "The food was amazing , the wine list was considerable as well, everyone from the server to other stuff were very friendly. It was a little expensive but i would say if you have love for good food then it is worth spending that much money."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "We'd been to Pane e Vino several times but this time the food was only average, with the exception of one fish dish. Maybe a new chef or chef's night off."

  • "I met an old friend here for lunch last week and had a truly enjoyable experience. The staff is super warm and friendly! Food was great and they even give you free biscotti when you order coffee. Great pasta! Very reasonable prices. It will be my go to for lunch!!"

  • "Everything about Pan e Vino was first rate, from the cordial greeting upon arrival to the inviting menu, superb wait staff, and, of course, delicioso dinner (salad Bianca, perfectly prepared liver Veneziano, lovely tartuffo, and cappuccino. The zeppoli were an extra treat. We felt like honored guests in a cozy candlelit atmosphere.."

  • "Delicious specials (risotto with shrimp/asparagus and veal paillard), great service, low noise level, lovely evening."
    Dined on 12/4/2013
  • "This was my first time dining here and I will definitely be back. The waiter let us know they could make something off menu if possible, though I chose the spinach ravioli, a house specialty, which was delicious. Generous pours on their wines by the glass. Prices are reasonable by New York standards. Conveniently located to mid-town shopping."

  • "Went for thanksgiving and wasn't disappointed--never am. The turkey was delicious, moist and tasty. Pane e vino is my go to neighborhood restaurant and it is always great. A recent renovation makes an already warm and inviting place even more so. Service is beyond friendly and food never misses. Highly recommend."

  • "Good food and service. Especially liked the personal, table visits by the chef. Nice touch and goes a long way. Very small dining area with bar in front - fairly typical of NYC neighborhood-style restaurants - which made it a bit too noisey to rate the 'ambience' as 5-star."

  • "I've been here several times and the food is consistently good. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is always warm and attentive. I've recommended it to many friends."

  • "I took a couple there at whose wedding I am presiding next month. Great couple, and Pane e Vino provided the very perfect atmosphere. The service was solicitous but non-intrusive, The food wonderful and prepared to perfection. I was so glad that I had thought of this restaurant; it is about the fourth or fifth time I have eaten there, and each night was delightful; but this was the kind of occasion one wants to get just right. Pane e Vino was perfect!"

  • "We have a friend who lives in the neighborhood. It is now his and our favorite in the area. Great Risotto options, and all dishes were great. We ate there twice on consecutive nights. One group was 12 people. Attentive service and excellent food prep. The Chef came out both times to check on his work."

  • "We felt welcome from the moment we arrived and the food was authentic and incredible. We will come back again during our next trip to New York."

  • "All in all a very nice place to go for dinner with the girls. We could actually talk as it was not too noise and the service was very good."

  • "My friend and I met here for a birthday lunch and it couldn't have been nicer. She had the prix fixe, I had the salmon, and both were delicious. But the nicest part of our afternoon was the welcoming atmosphere, the deft and prompt service and the way we were enabled to eat leisurely with no sense of rush but with every wish accommodated. I look forward to my next visit."

  • "Enjoyed our dining experience at Pane e Vino-- busy, upscale restaurant with a nice choice of appetizers and dinner selections. Wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, and the atmosphere was very urban and tasteful. Loved our dinners!"

  • "I was recommended this place by my mom. Came in with a party of 7 and they easily and graciously accommodated us, initially at the bar and then at our reserved table. The waitstaff was personable, and attentive as is the manager who was eager to help us upon entrance. Branzino (fish) was superb and Papardelle had a lovely sauce with lovely large mushrooms. Appetizers were nice. (Caprese was terrific) and of course their lovely dessert selections. Ricotta cheesecake was rich and flavorful, as was the tiramisu, and chocolate soufflé. (Shared these desserts amongst our party). Overall, our party felt welcome and attended for. A very nice vibe because their manager seemed to emote a warm personality as well as their bartender."

  • "We checked in at the restaurant on time, sat down and had a wonderful time and only when we were leaving did we see that Pane E Vino was across the street and we were at Fig and Olive. Needless to say the ratings I need to fill out above are for Fig and Olive"

  • "I have been to this place several times now. At first it was business lunches but I have now been for dinner 3 or 4 times. Food is very good and they make you feel like you are the only person in the place. You can't go wrong with Pane E Vino."
    Dined on 9/16/2013
  • "Food was delicious. Moderately priced. Played canned music at lunch time. Not conducive for conversation with friends. They should can the canned music."
