The lunch was excellent; everyone enjoyed their meal. The place was not very busy, service and food were great, and the views are terrific. The chef came out to welcome us and chat. It was very comfortable for our large group. I would defiantly come back.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPalomino - A Unique ExperienceWhen I requested a table with a view of the Bay Bridge, I had my doubts that it was possible to actually see the lights of the bridge, but lo and behold! Our table provided a full view of the entire bridge. The play of the lights was magnificent and most intriguing were the "swimming fish" on the bridge. It was a delightful and unique experience, and I would suggest, "Whoever you are, if you can, don't miss such an unforgettable evening. And by the way, the food was incomparable - beautifully served, deliciously prepared, a plethora of choices and yes, anathema to anyone who is on a diet. But go. We sat at one table, then she asked us if we wanted a different one - it was better and we were happy. Our waiter is topnotch. Made our evening very enjoyable - food was great. They had run out of our choice so he recommended something else - he was right!
Palomino has been in SF for many years and has kept up its ambience, food quality and overall service. They don't seem to have specials that utilize seasonal items as much as top restaurants in the city. That being said, their paella is quite good and something you don't see on every menu. I actually ordered from the regular menu and got a maple marinated chicken salad! It was like no other salad I've eaten! It was delicious, chicken cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the rigatoni which was probably the best pasta I've eaten there because I tried their capalini pomadoro, it was mediocre over sauced and a little bland. We opted for inside and had a wonderful quiet meal with a marvelous view of the Bay. Service was friendly and genuine and efficient. Truffle deviled eggs were perfect and tasty as a appetizer. Small chop salad was great - not very small. The pizza siciliano my wife had was perfect - thin crust - lots of flavor. I had the interesting combo entree of chicken parmesean and short ribs. Each was excellent and well flavored. Wine list is large and they offer 3 ozs or 6 ozs. You have to try the Donuts Sicilian for dessert with chocolate - decadent. Like Beignets but not as light. The food was greatly executed, but the "Chef's Selections" menu is not the same as it used to be. Seems very chain-restaurant-ish now. We came for that, and didn't see anything on there that we couldn't get at Olive Garden, so we ordered from the regular menu, which is okay, but still, we were unimpressed with menu selections, including the wine list.
Service was good considering how busy they were. I think his name was Alias.
Ambiance...confusing. A dining room with no music and a loud crazy bar with people screaming during a game on the TV's.. Don't get it.

Wait staff are phenomenal, super thin crust pizzas are unique and do indulge on Truffled Deviled Eggs - OMG nothing finer in all of San Fran! This is a fun place, fun food, great food, great service and with the Bay Bridge Lights Show, well it doesn't get any better than dinner here. The food is great, especially the pizza... I love the thin crust. If you're going for lunch it's pretty quiet and easy to get a table even with a group of 6+. In the evenings it's a lot more crowded and a lot louder. We all had fish dishes and all were good. Our waiter Daniel was very attentive and pleasant. The wine list isn't very notable, but it's not a show stopper either.
