Diner Reviews
  • "Great Breakfast & Lunch choices on the menu; lovely atmosphere; really enjoyed it."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "Server was great. Food was not well prepared and slow coming out. For example I ordered a burger medium, and it was well done."

  • "We had not been to this place for awhile and liked the one they opened in Palm Springs. Our visit was very nice. The restaurant was spotless and everything in it's place. Food was excellent but not spectacular. My wife's shrimp was a little "fishy" but my salmon was great. A bit expensive but a good place to have dinner."

  • "This is a nice restaurant. Service is good. We will go back."

  • "Palomino is a "go to" restaurant when having an evening with friends or relatives and one is not really sure what the others will eat. Palomino has a varied menu and always provides a good meal."

  • "Our server was pleasant and very attentive. Food selection is varied and our choices were excellent. The appetizer articoke dip was especially delicious. Looked very good and tasted good. All entrees were appetizing and were very tasteful. Orders were taken quickly - water was refilled very often and additional bread was served when needed. We all enjoyed our dinners."

  • "Excellent classical Italian dishes. Complimentary Bruschetta dip. Delicious Pollo alla Marsala in sauce so good one wants to mop one's plate with the excellent Italian bread. Elegant ambiance, excellent service. Popular all-day happy hour menu.b"

  • "We went the other night for our second visit. Everyone loved their fod and our server was fantastic and very attentive. We are looking forward to going back!"

  • "The food is always great and love the new gluten free options and the "skinny" drink options. The crab and artichoke dip is a must try."

  • "Food was good and the service very attentive. A bit noisy as we had lunch in the bar."

  • "Just OK! We asked for a quiet table and were seated between the computer register and the entrance to the restrooms. Not too cool! We decided to let it go ! The waiter was pleasant but seemed inexperienced and more interested in helping people at larger tables. We were 3 people. Food was very good but not enough for us to venture back!"

  • "It's been quite awhile since we have dined at Palomino. We expected more-- the chicken under the brick was tough. My dining companion found the mushrooms in kale quite spicy, perhaps over peppered? They can do better!"
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "My personal "go to" restaurant. Reliably excellent in every category, spacious enough to carry on normal conversation, friendly, helpful and efficient service, ideal for groups including those with specific food requirements as their menu can accommodate both vegetarians and non, fish (beautifully prepared) or non, variety of seafoods, salads, pasta - something delicious for just about every taste - and prices are moderate and fair."
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "The Restaurant ambiance is nice. The food was fair tasting. The restaurant should be embarrassed to serve an $18 salad with 2 ounces of chicken on it! And, the service was very disappointing. Who was my waiter? Where did he disappear to? Ask for butter at the beginning of the meal and don't get it until the check arrives at the end. And, to add insult to injury, they cheated me of my Open Table dining points. Smart diners should avoid this restaurant and spend less money at a more deserving place with better food, larger quantities, lower prices, and it will be easy to find a place with better service."

  • "I love having lunch at Palomino. It is reasonable, and the food is consistently good."

  • "We like this spot in Westwood for dinner prior to a show at the near-by Geffen Theatre. On this occasion, my husband ordered salmon that he requested "cooked all the way through." That instruction was ignored, but our server was very apologetic, and replaced the dish as promptly as possible - and offered us a complimentary dessert to make up for the kitchen's error."

  • "I chose to have the special which was pork tenderloins with a risotto side. The pork was quite good but the risotto was kinda like glue and didn't have an awful lot of flavour either. Ditto for the sauce on the pork - gluey and not much flavour to it. It was disappointing. Hubby had his usual steak frites which he said was better than ever."

  • "We asked for a quiet table and got one. Even though it was quite crowded we would able to talk and visit. Great food and service"

  • "Maybe there are two schools of thought re Palomino. We loved it. From the moment we entered, service was attentive and outstanding. Our waitress even rushed to reserve deviled eggs for us before we finished ordering. There were only two plates left, she said. and they were so good! Food was imaginative and altogether tasty. We got the donuts for desert. Just evil! We will return !"

  • "I come to Palomino at least a few times a month for business luncheons and probably at least monthly for dinner. I find the menu varied enough to please anyone. Prices are fair. I must say, that the coffee that was served this time was absolutely undrinkable. They were nice enough to give me a fresh cup, but it was just as bad. The very nice waiter then comped me a cappacino, but it was weak and tasteless."
    Dined on 2/17/2014
  • "The service was ok. The food was mediocre at best."

  • "Went for valentine's day. It wasn't bad but for the price it isn't wasn't worth it. Portions small and mediocre. Steak was overcooked."

  • "I have been dining at Palomino for 15 years now and the food is consistently delicious. I have treid many different dishes and everything is great and highly recommended. We celebrated my daughters 14th birthday with her freinds and all of us loved everything we ordered. The Bruschetta and Gorgonzola Waffle Fries for apps were to come back for. The 4 cheese rigatoni, Capellini pasta and pizzas were incredibly delicious. Everyone wants to go back to Palomino."

  • "I have been dining at the Palomino for over 12 years, today I was completely disappointed at the poor service rendered by your staff. In brief: No greeter at the door, Manager no place in sight, was helped to our table by the bar tender. Waiter came to our table maybe 7 or 8 minutes later. After we ordered it took nearly 20 minutes for our food to arrive at our table. Manager took our dissert order, then our waiter came to ask us for our dissert order. The single piece of cake also took 20 minutes to get to our table. We paid the bill as fast as we could. By the time we got out of your restaurant it was 12:48. How can it take 1 hour and 18 minutes to get lunch at a restaurant that was 100% empty when we arrived at 11:30 in the morning ???."

  • "Met our cousins for lunch. Very good service, tasty food and a round table for 6. The waiter even came over to take our picture for us.. Convenient to the Hammer Museum which was a plus. Fun time for all."

  • "Delicious brunch ~ exceptional Crab Cakes Benedict. Creme Brûlée French Toast. Who knew Palomino did brunch and such a good one!"

  • "We had reservations for 8 pm. Our table was well centered and our waiter (so sorry I forgot his name!) was amazing and took care of us extremely well. It was my husband 52th Birthday and I know that he had fun. The food, ambiance and the service was fantastic. I live in the neighborhood, but the Palomino is a great place to go and have great food with family or friends."

  • "This spot is good for lunch and happy hour. Great food and drinks. Lunch time can be a bit hectic and the service can lag from time to time. But overall it was great."

  • "I was surprised that the prices have gone up. I am always comfortable at Palomeno because the area we dine in, is suitable for conversation. I can hear my guests conversation and that is important to us."

  • "We chose Palamino for its DineLA experience. It was the first time in a while we felt like the value far exceeded the price. The bruschetta was a perfect balance of basil, mozzarella, delicious tomato (not the normal bland supermarket variety), and flatbread. The lamb ragout and salmon plates both provided their own unique balance of flavors. The salmon had a perfectly braised, seasoned black kale under the filet. We could have done without the potatoes, but they weren't bad. The chocolate tiramisu was the perfect balance between traditional tiramisu and a chocolate mousse. The creme brûlée was a little sweet: not enough custard flavor and the dish was too deep providing for not enough brûlée with the creme. Overall, wonderful."

  • "Tried this restaurant during the Dine LA Week for lunch and the food is delicious."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "I went to Palomino during my lunch break with a few coworkers. The food presented to us was delicious. I really enjoyed the lamb ragout. It had the right amount of flavor and kick. The only negative was the fact that it took quite awhile for our main course to come out, and we were limited in our time frame of being out of the office. I commend the waiters for keeping us updated and comping our appetizer though."

  • "Chicken under a brick was pretty dry (like a brick) lamb ragu was missing the lamb. Slow and inaccurate service."
    Dined on 1/23/2014
  • "Palomino had a great dineLA luncheon and the regular menu is super.. prices are very reasonable especially compared to the quality of the food, wine, AND service. We had a great time and are looking forward to returning soon."

  • "AS ALWAYS, the food and service on Tuesday, 1/21/14, was superb."
    Dined on 1/21/2014
  • "Fairly good, but I was disappointed in the dessert and my main course. The sides that it came with were not thoroughly explained so I was surprised on what I received, which is hard to do when your meal is pretty expensive. The appetizers were great and the service was also good, but they assumed too much for someone's first time at the restaurant."
    Dined on 1/17/2014
  • "we were a big group with limited time for lunch. the waitress was very good at getting us out in time."
    Dined on 1/20/2014
  • "Lunch with a friend. The free bread and side of bruschetta dip is yummy. We both ordered the salad and pasta combo. It arrived in two small bowls on a plate. A surprising, but boring, presentation. Not enough food to be filling. Both the Caesar's salad and the pasta Bolognese were good, but not good enough to bring me back. It's basically a business-lunch restaurant. Haven't been here for dinner."
