We took my son and his girlfriend (who are college students and appreciate something besides college food) and we had a great meal. Also, if we showed our hotel keys, we got a free appetizer with our entree. That was a huge help in cost if feeding hungry college students! The mussels were Telly good, we had the scallops which were excellent and the kids had the bone in pork chop and the seafood pasta both of which said they were great! Will go back!!

Our server Melanie was an excellent server and honored our request for a "paced-out" dinner. Your hostess helped Melanie by clearing our table of finished dishes and making sure we were comfortable with service. Enjoyed the night.

The central focus of going out to eat is the food and Palmers has the best food I have found since moving to Kentucky. The fish tacos and crab cakes are the best. Every dish seems to get the chef's tender love and care. The servers are very attentive to the needs of the table and fulfill them very timely. The view of the ducks on the pond add that down home feeling. Will eat there time and time again.

My son and I stopped when the place we were headed to was closed on Sunday. Found this place on Open Table and decided to give it a try. He had a bone-in pork chop. It was cooked perfectly and very tasty. I had a cup of corn and clam chowder and an Ahi tuna appetizer. The soup was luke warm, though very good and filling. The tuna was fresh and served with a couple of sauces that really made the dish. Nice outdoor deck when the weather is nice. I thought the prices were reasonable except for the drinks. The vodka on the rocks was one shot and about $8.50. The beer was $5.50. The service was very good and friendly. I'll go back.

My wife and I just enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Palmers. If you sign up to be on their email list they send a special for your anniversary. A four course meal for two for a set price. You chose from a smaller menu, but there was still great selections and my wife and I both found something we really liked. It was a great deal, food was fantastic, and the service was perfect. They also have happy hour specials, and great outdoor dining and an outdoor bar. We will definitely be back!

I had not been to the location since it was last operated as another restaurant. I was stunned at the makeover of the facility and at the ambiance of the venue. The staff provided service that was attentive without being overbearing. Every appetizer and entrée was excellent and the beverage list was a great compliment to the cuisine. In fact, their homemade sangria was just lovely! We dined indoors but the greater part of the restaurant is actually located outside by the lake. There is a full-service bar available lakeside, as well as the same menu and service. What a transformation! We thoroughly enjoyed the venue, the food, and the entire dining experience! We will be back!

The fish and chips was to die for. The chicken egg rolls were just scrumptious. However, my fish taco wasn't all that but I wouldn't wipe them out of my dining list due to the fact that the chef took the time out of her busy schedule to come to our table. They got an A+ for customer service and this place will be part of my everyday lunch spot if I ever move to Kentucky.

The only drawback to the evening was that our food was way too salty. My wife had the Scallop Plate and I had the Norwegian Salmon and both the entree and the sides were too salty. We ate there a few months ago and everything was perfectly done and tasted great.

The inside of the restaurant looks amazing but the food was not great. We ordered the white truffle fries and they were gross with almost no truffle oil on them(couldn't even smell it). We got the fish n chips and an ahi special. They both tasted cheep and processed. Over all I felt like we had gone to an Applebee's and paid three times as much.

My boyfriend and I ate here last Saturday night. I had mixed feelings when we first arrived because the hostess was a tad rude inside but the outside host was super nice. We chose to eat outside because the weather was perfect but had to endure one of the worst one - man - bands I've ever come across. Our server seemed a bit stressed at first (had too many tables) but she got caught up and was overall a pretty good server. We started with the egg rolls which my boyfriend loved but I thought were too heavy and filling for an appetizer. We LOVED everything we had for dinner. I had the salmon, he had the fettuccine with shrimp, and we also shared some onion rings. I would definitely go back again.

The young hostess with long brown hair sat at the worst table in the restaurant, a high traffic area by a server station and kitchen. We requested a new table. There were 3 available in a quieter area of the restaurant. The hostess said that those tables were for people who has reservations. I said that I had reservations too. She just smiled, didn't know what to say, but refused to move us. What, really?! Have you ever heard of making the customer happy? We walked out the door and had a delicious dinner outside, at a table that didn't need a reservation. Also found it interesting that the manager asked us a closed ended question of how our food was. The food was great but left us no opportunity to tell her about the hostess.

I have not one good thing to say about this restaurant. From the outside hostess who was so rude, to the waitress who looked lost the entire evening (and in fact left early), our whole meal was a distaster. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks, and another 40 to get our food. The excuses we were given did not ring true - our waitress said the bartender was really backed up, and that all the food is made fresh and that's why it was taking so long. I guess if they count fresh as made a week ago and microwaved. The manager was useless as well - she stayed in the corner of the bar on her phone for much of the evening.

The food at Palmer's was excellent. The trout with capers was outstanding and everything else was very good. It had the best Restaurant Week Menu, and was the best restaurant we tried during restaurant. The ambiance with booths looking out on the water was lovely. Our server was outstanding and the sangria was good, too. We'll be back!

We tried Palmer's during Lexington Restaurant Week. Making reservations was easy and the atmosphere was relaxing--just what we needed. We felt we got a lot for the $25/person value and had so much food that we couldn't eat half of it. The food had a beautiful presentation and was good, though as someone who enjoys cooking gourmet meals, most of the dishes we sampled were not what we'd consider outstanding. The pretzel-coated trout was an exception; it was delicious. Overall, this was a good experience.

Our waitress seemed busy because it was restaurant week, so maybe on a different night she would be more attentive. We had to ask for bread. It took a long time for us to get our food. Carrots with the beer cheese were old and dried out. Charred bread with the mussels had been sitting awhile so it was not hot or crisp, and had a taste of lighter fluid. The crab cakes were great as were the egg rolls. Please rethink the sidewinder potatoes, they need to go back to regular crispy fries. Usually the food and service are good. I think restaurant week dropped the grade of food and service we usually get here. Peach sangria was very good. The waitress was nice but was hard to get hold of.

Had never been to Palmer's before, but was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor, very good food, and service. Most of the crowd was out on the large, noisy patio, but we sat inside to enjoy the quiet and the air conditioning. We had a great $25 prix fixe meal with lots of options and big portions. I'll go back, even if it's not restaurant week!

Great food and even better service. Waitress was very skilled and manager was very engaged. She constantly canvasses table to table to ensure people were being served and satisfied. Our server anticipated our needs before we had them. I had the reef and beef and was delicious, wife had steak meatloaf and that was excellent. Palmers Fresh Grill was wonderful dining experience. I chose the egg roll, Palmers House Salad, for my entree I chose Shrimp and Grits and the Ghiraradelli chocolate brownie (that went home in box). The portions were very generous. The grits were creamy and seasoned with and andouille sausage. The weather was perfect for the patio and the entertainment was on the mark. I will definitely return to Palmers.

After a perfectly dreadful experience on Mother's Day, we felt it was only fair to give Palmer's another chance. With the Restaurant Week offer, it seemed like a good opportunity to see if Palmer's, for us, could redeem itself and it did. To begin with, we felt like we had good service, unlike our previous experience. Our waitress was friendly and stayed on top of things without intruding. I wouldn't call the food outstanding, but it was somewhat creative in presentation, well prepared and tasty. The 4 of us tried the bread pudding with salted caramel sauce for dessert--highlight of our meal! We felt the Mother's Day experience was a result of not being prepared for the crowd, so we're glad we tried again. We'll be back.

We ordered a nice pinot noir, Meomi, and the egg roll appetizer (social hour has special prices). The egg rolls were delicious, and a great start to our dinner. Warm bread with olive oil and spice dip was brought to the table while we waited for our entrees. We had the pretzel crusted trout, the grilled trout, and the salmon grill for our entrees, and all were so delicious and thoroughly enjoyed.
