  • "This restaurant reminded my wife and me of the great old days of Bouley, Jean George, LeCirque and Daniel in New York. The food, service, ambience and overall experience was just plain excellent. We had the seven course tasting and each course was another great journey in gastronomic heaven. The portions are just the right size. The pacing allows ample time to savor the course just finished and have time to talk and socialize. This is great, grand, excellent dining from time past. A must stop on any trip through Miami."

  • "We happened upon Palme D'Or on a recent trip to Miami. We had not done our research on good restaurants and did not want to be disappointed. Palme D'Or received unequivocally excellent reviews on Zagat, so we got a reservation. It was more than we could have expected. While the five course tasting menu cost as much as our hotel, the experience was worth it. The service was personal and attentive, without being over-involved. The food was exquisite. Each component was detailed and delicious. Completely deserving of the five stars. We completely enjoyed a romantic and memorable night."

  • "Old style French restaurant atmosphere with delicious, sophisticated twists on classic recipes. The staff was very accommodating and had a good sense of humor. The food was all excellent though the portions on the tasting menu were small. I doubt we could have eaten more, when you include dessert, bread and a post-dessert collection of chocolates and other sweets that arrive just before the bill. Wine prices range from affordable to absurd, so everyone should be able to find something. The only negative about eating at Palme d'Or is knowing that you could be eating in the lovely courtyard at the hotel with its beautiful old fountain. Solution: go twice."

  • "I've been to this restaurant a few times before and aside from been an extremely beautiful place I have never had a good dinning experience in this place. However, because they have a new French chef, I decided to give it another try. I do not like the micro size gourmet portions been served, and even though I'm not a big eater this dinning experience was not worth the price. This will be the last time I'll give this restaurant an opportunity. I will also not recommend it to friends and family. It's simply too expensive for what you get, unless you just want ambience and service. However, if you expend $ 1200 for dinner for four, you'll get excellent service anywhere."

  • "We are long time fans of the Palme d"Or. The new menu design with fixed dishes and courses is a recipe for failure with the local crowd. Miami is a competitive food market, this "new" version will have to survive off hotel guest and visitors. There is no reason to make a repute trip for this level of food. Nothing was fantastic and the similarities between dishes made for a vary similar taste each course. The effort to be over the top and add FOAM to every dish is just not needed, let the food speak for its self. Truffled risotto was excellent, but smothered in truffles? No need to force the issue you have the talent try to be a little more subtle."

  • "I kind of stumbled on the palm d'Or restaurant by staying at the Biltmore. My first booking was impossible because it was sold out. I took my son his girlfriend and my husband on a Tuesday night to celebrate a small victory. We were able to celebrate the small victory in a very lbih way-great restaurant!"

  • "Service and overall experience was wonderful. Excellent bread, cheeses, presentation of food. Only reason I took a star off is they should add some more basic meat choices - the 4th course choices were all adventurous (rabbit, sweetbreads, squab) or included an outrageous upcharge for Kobe beef. A basic chicken or meat would have been nice even if done in a fancy preparation."

The food was great, the explanations of each of the 5 courses was perfect, and service from the maitre d' and waiters was attentive and friendly. Similar high quality to Gramercy Tavern in NYC or Gordon Ramsay in London. We definitely will go back soon; no need to wait for a special occasion."

  • "I visited Palme d'Or for the first time. After having eaten there, I cannot believe that I have missed out on this dining experience. This is fine dining at the highest level. I have never been to such a fine restaurant in South Florida. The service is impeccable. The menu, while somewhat limited, is exquisite and very creative. The food was beautifully presented and nothing short of delicious. Such distinct and wonderful flavors. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but it does not pretend to be. This is THE restaurant to go to if you want the highest quality dining experience. I cannot wait to go back again."

  • "We went here for our last night on our Honeymoon, we had the 5 course menu. The Oysters were out of this world, the Alaskan King crab was amazing, the Bucatini Pasta was perfect, scallops were a delight, and the deserts were just too many to mention and were all delicious. The only thing was that my Wife did not like the Pigeon, so unless you have had Pigeon before I would get something else. The service was the best I have ever received. The Chef came out and greeted us as we left and they even gave us a signed congrats card which was a classy touch."

  • "We wanted a quiet restaurant to catch up with friends on a saturday eve in Miami. This is a difficult challenge. They had been here before with prior chef. We are all experienced global diners. Expensive does not bother us if it is worth it. This was not. Food so small it was unidentifiable and we went away hungry and much lighter int he wallet. It was quiet and the Biltmore is gorgeous as ever. so the company saved the evening. We all had a good laugh over the food. Go for a drink and eat elsewhere. Very disappointing."

The ambiance created by the maitre de, Patrick, is continiously improving with recent addition of an excellent cheese cart and petit four selection (sorbet, madelienes, house made chocolates and marshmellows).   • "My wife and I have eaten here at least 10 times and it was our favorite restaurant in Miami, but now a new Chef requires you choose either a 5 course meal for $105 each or a 9 course meal for $175. We arrived for my wife's birthday and were informed of their new policy. We said we came every birthday and didnt want a 5 course meal; they basically said--take it or leave it, so we left."

They serve only two prix-fixe menus now, nothing a la carte. My wife and I had the 5 course menu which had plenty of tasty dishes. The portions were small but with so many courses, it left us completely satisfied. The service was outstanding as usual. Pricey but worth it!"

  • "The wait staff were extra attentive and hospitable, particularly the receptionist and the maitre'd. Our waitress was smooth and polished, always a smile. She was very knowledgable and flexible. The atmosphere was very French and serenely beautiful inside with a nice view of the pool, depending upon where you were seated. The maitre'd was sincere, sociable, and accommodating. It was a lovely experience, although very pricey, but it was Thanksgiving."

  • "For years I have eaten at this restaurant. Now, they require you have the 5 course dinner. That was a surprise to me. I don't want that many courses nor do I want to spend that much time. I don't know how it tastes since, we left. They should make sure that potential diners know that ala carte food cannot be ordered. We were told this is the idea of the new chef. Unfortunately, I won't be able to try his food, since I won't be going back."

  • "Simply wonderful dining experience that met my expectations. It was formal french dining but without the stuffiness. The waitstaff were warm, courteous and attentive, including the maitre d', and the food was spectacular. My favorite was the langoustine appetizer, although every course was delightful. And the petits fours cart was a playful way to end the meal with calvados sorbet served in cones, along with delicious madeleines, macaroons, gelees, truffles, and more. Highly recommend this venue for a special occasion spot, work dinner, or even by yourself (that's how I went and I thoroughly enjoyed myself)."

And the apple tart desert was cold, again flavorless, with ice cream. Would definitely not come back or recommend to any of my friends. The service was excellent though very attentive to our table. Except they need a new chef ASAP!"

  • "I took my SO to the restaurant, which we've visited many times. It was her birthday and this made it a special occasion, which the staff graciously acknowledged. The big deal, however, is the food - always about food first. Palme D'Or, since the departure of Philipe Ruiz, hasn't had a foodie-grade exec chef, and that's now several years. Gregory Pugin, now the ExChef, seems to perhaps be that replacement. I've had two of his meals thus far, and both, 5-course tastings, have been outstanding, although I had small issues with one plate each time. Otherwise the creativity and quality is spot-on, and one would expect it will only get better. Palme D'Or may be my favorite restaurant in Miami, once again. Good luck to Gregory, Patrick & staff."

  • "This restaurant exhales perfection, from the ambiance to the service, the food was absolutely pefectly well served and cooked. We parked on the adjacent lot and walked thru the pool to enter the hotel. The restaurant is very classic, old fashioned style, very charming and chic. There were people of all ages, most couples or business groups. My only complaint is related to the chairs, there are really uncomfortable, they are huge and wide and do not support your back, that feeling was very uncomfortable and made us want to go inmediately after our excelent dinner. We chose the Miami Spice menu, every dish was amazing, for us it was our best experience of the Miami Spice and a night to remember. Congrats to the chef and their staff."
