I dined while on a business trip in March 2013 and had such a memorable experience that I brought a group of 6 colleagues during a trip to NYC in June 2013. It was pouring down rain which made the glass topped courtyard even more peaceful and unique. As the prior visit, the service was exceptional, the food exquisite and interesting and the entire event memorable. Some reviews said it was noisy, but we ate at 7 in the back courtyard and it wasn't too noisy at all. The flowers were GORGEOUS, they had a cute flower shop type display on one side of the garden. The pastas were marvelous (we tried three-clams, mushrooms, ravioli), the lamb chops were plentiful and the chicken Milanese was solid. Pasta portions are on the smaller side but I found it more than enough with the appetizers (meatballs, salad) and delicious homemade gelato and cheesecake. The two cons were the table was kind of difficult to sit at, many of us were straddling bracing and the 15 minute grace period, after which, you lose your table. The food has always been wonderful with a very laid back atmosphere and we never felt rushed. You almost feel like you left NYC briefly and are in a small restaurant in Italy. All of the servers we have had have been lovely as well. We were originally seated in the small main part of the restaurant, next to the bar. Very cramped seating, and of course very noisy. They were nice enough to make a large private room available to us, even though the room has a 10 person minimum. It was a fabulous room, and made the birthday dinner a success.

Such a pleasant atmosphere after such a crumby long winter!
We had lots of attention from the bartender and the waitress as we had a 6PM reservation and arrived early. By the time we left, it got crowded and noisy in the little garden.
Food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented.

They have an amazing central garden courtyard which is so beautiful you think your in Tuscany. I always come here when I'm in the city and managed to have lunch twice over my week stay. The food is very rustic Italian you like your Nanna is in the kitchen preparing it. The fried baby artichokes and the meatballs are amazing for starters. I love the Agnolotti so simple and tasty and don't leave without trying the pannacotta. We had the same server David both times and he was delightful. This time I went with my boyfriend, even he was impressed with all of the fresh flowers hanging from the walls in the open garden area. I had the grouper - it was very fresh and tasty. The staff are warm, welcoming and attentive. The entire evening surpasses an outstanding meal and is an experience that makes you feel like you have spent an evening in a beautiful Sicilian garden.
