A short meandering trek through Palma's restaurant and her private garden leads to an exquisite dining experience. The 200-year-old Carriage House with exposed wood beams, fresh flowers, a fireplace and hundreds of candles is the perfect location for any private dining experience. And our cooking class parties have become a favorite among our guests.

  • "Loved most everything about Palma except the crowd that seemed to gather around our table which was located at the front window. Also the noise level can get get quite high. These are minor annoyances. The service was excellent beginning with Keira, who greeted us, and our server. We both had pasta dishes which were superbly prepared. My wife had a gluten free cheese ravioli and I had a tagliatelle seafood special (crab and sea urchin). We shared a tiramisu for desert that we both agreed was the best we've ever had, including the many versions we've had in Italy. Prices very fair and short walk from subway. Looking forward to return visit. "

  • "Though charming, the front room is a little crowded but the back garden is absolutely magical. The food is always solid, particularly dishes such as the cauliflower with currants and pine nuts appetizer and the spaghetti with lobster. They need more servers,though. One was handling all of the tables in the back on his own which may be the reason he forgot one of our main courses."

  • "We had four dishes, and 3 out of 4 were excellent. The crispy artichokes were worth the visit alone. The artichoke hearts were soft and creamy and the leaves were crispy without being greasy. The Cauliflower Palma was oddly bland. It's a namesake dish, and the description sounds fantastic, but it just didn't deliver. The Spinach Agnolotti was also to die for. Creamy, flavorful insides with delicious tomato sauce. The Pappardella was also excellent. The pasta was so fresh and the combination of tomato sauce and lamb delicious. Service was spotty. We were left for 15 minutes when we sat down without anyone coming. We were served our food promptly, but there was no hope of flagging anyone down for something."

  • "We were delighted by our meal at Palma, which I chose because we went to a play nearby. The food was delicious and they have an excellent Italian wine list with some fascinating and delicious selections that one rarely sees? From the burrata with caponata to the buffalo ricotta cheesecake, the excellence of the ingredients and careful preparation was apparent. Service was friendly and accommodating, even sliding a spare table over to handle our wine and serving dishes once the crowd subsided a bit. Although it was a cold night and the garden was enclosed, I imagine it is a great spot in the summer. From what I could see of the carriage house, it will go on my list of spaces for private group dining."

The owner took the time to talk with us and the staff was very welcoming. and made sure everything we ordered was as we ordered it. The garden room is beautiful. Almost like an indoor botanical gardens. We look forward to returning with friends, so that we can order more of variety and share."

Every time they asked if we needed something else etc..and kept serving wine, even though our glasses were full!! And we were sitting for less than a hour!!"

  • "I can only say very good things about dining at Palma. The hospitality from entering the restaurant and the service all the way through the meal was fantastic. The cocktail I had, La Vie en Rose was so tasty that I called back to Palma the next day to get the recipe and the bartender wasn't there yet so they took my name and number and actually called me back! I made this drink for my friends and they loved it. The menu selections were very good, maybe could use another choice or two, but then the specials were excellent too and rounded out the menu. Our meals and appetizers came out within reasonable time and were delicious--we ate every bite. The beer and wine selections were very good as well. Wish I lived in the city to go back!"

  • "A friend recommended Palma to me because I am a huge fan of Zuppa de Pesce. She said the one at Palma was not to be missed. I was not disappointed! The presentation of this dish was like none other I'd ever seen and it tasted fantastic. Everything we ordered was amazing, from the cornish hen to the branzino to the pastas. This place is definitely a neighborhood gem and so adorable. Its great for any occasion: bringing your parents to dinner, a date or a group dinner. The front room is small and intimate and the back room is gorgeous with flowers and twinkly lights. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!"

The gnocchi sorrentino has been a staple of my Palma visits for quite sometime. Needless to say I was crushed when they removed it from the menu. However, upon inquiry, they happily offered to prepare it for me anyway! SO happy my favorite dish isn't lost forever! The fresh flavors and ideal consistency combine to create perfection for your palette. I have never tasted better (and I lived in Italy for a summer). The service is impeccable and if you are a loyal patron you will discover the extent of their generosity. Palma is a New York treasure that I am so grateful to have discovered!"

  • "Our whole experience at Palma was amazing. We went for brunch on a Sunday and we were able to sit in the back garden, which is heated for the winter. It was like eating in a romantic green house with flowers everywhere and a glass roof. The food was delicious! I had the french toast and it was the best french toast I have ever had. The rest of my family had a mixture of breakfast and lunch, all saying it was delicious. Would gladly go back to Palma!"

  • "A quaint little place and a welcome change from the more corporate modern dining establishments of mid town. It's major plus point is the very helpful, friendly but discreet staff who could not have looked after us better. The menu was not extensive but that is not a criticism just something to be aware of. I had goats cheese and beet salad to start but there was very little evidence of goats cheese and the beets were rather bland and in my opinion slightly over cooked . I followed this with fish which was served on a bed of vegetables. This was perfectly adequate but again rather disappointing as it lacked any flavour to speak of. Overall its a nice place with bland food. With more imagination in the kitchen this place has great potential!"

  • "Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. They were gonna seat us by the door... Then noticed my request on open table to not be seated there. We were promptly moved to the garden where the romance and wonderful meal began. Good service, good food, great atmosphere--- and in the winter! The outdoor space is lovely."
