Diner Reviews
  • "Ridiiculously expensive! For example: $21 for plain pasta and tomato sauce; $35 for chicken parmasean, with no side dishes. Need I say more?"

  • "We requested a booth when making our reservation. We passed many empty booths while we were taken to a very small booth. We asked the hostess if we could have one of the larger booths. She said she would need to ask her manager. As we waited, the manager came to tell us that the booths were needed for larger parties. (other parties of two were already seated) We told him we preferred not to dine there than sit uncomfortably in such a small booth. He did not even offer an apology or look concerned at all. The restaurant was less than half full with so many booths empty. I don't know why he didn't seat us. Were we supposed to tip him? We went to the downtown Palm and it was delightful."

  • "Our server Dan (the man) was wonderful, really made the birthday celebration for our friend special. The power went out towards the end of the night, but it didn't stop the great service & great coffee & desserts."

  • "best lobster in La.great steaks and side dishes as well."

  • "The food and service are impeccable. Just be prepared to spend about 80 bucks per person if you have a drink or two with your meal."

  • "The food, service and decor were all excellent. The noise level was awful."

  • "The Palm going downhill? Been there for the Summer Lobster Special over the years in Tampa and L.A. This time seemed less satisfying. The knife for cutting food was not sharp (or the lobster too tough?) The melted butter is not served on a warmer. My guest ordered coffee to start her meal. It never arrived. The Lobster Bisque was good, but I've had better. The Baked Potato came w/ a side of sour cream, but no other choices. I expected more from The Palm."

  • "I brought my family including my ex wife and normally we would find ways to not enjoy each other but the food and service was so great we had no chance for fight. The bacon wrapped scallops are life changing and the filets were perfect."

  • "The steak is good, the side dishes - like creamed spianch and fried onions - are much better elsewhere. The food took forever to arrive...we were so hungry when it finally came, it probably made us think the food was better than it was. None of us thought it was great, though."

  • "Been going to the Palm for years. Remember Gigi fondly; he was the best. Food is consistent and the best lobster around. They have an amazing summer special on lobster that should not be missed. Cool local bar scene. My go to place for consistent quality food."

  • "I've been going to this restaurant since I was a young child and even after all these years the place is still amazing. The lobster is to die for."

  • "Had 7PM reservations, arrived on time and had to wait 45 minutes to be seated, not very nice of them nor were they apologetic."

  • "We always enjoy the friendly service and excellent food at The Palm. My husband had a filet with a few ounces of lobster meat, I had scrumptious grilled sea bass, beautifully seasoned, and our friends had a steak and a lobster, respectively. I sampled the steak - outstanding. We enjoyed (as always) the creamy, rich au gratin potatoes, the green beans sautéed with pancetta and pepper flakes (very tasty) and shared a huge piece of moist, rich chocolate layer cake. We left very full and happy. "

  • "We had not been here for many years wight reopening of so many good other steak buses, however we decided to try ti once more. Sadly the food was just OK, the steak not up to so many others near by, BOCV, Wolfgangs, Mastros, Ruth Chris, Cut, Flemings, STK and more. Our food was just so so, the Brussels sprouts were sent back and they again were not correctly cooked and return, the steak was just OK. Sadly this will be out last visit wight he "

  • "I ordered wrong. I went to lunch with the idea of ordering a Hamburger or Lobster and decided to order the Lobster Club. Expecting a Lobster Club like I had in other places with large pieces of Lobster, what I got was a one level sandwich with Lobster like the crab you get in a California Roll. I would stay away from this at all costs. My wife and I go to the Palm regularly in Virginia, New York and in Los Angeles. We love their steaks and Lobster items, but this was awful."

  • "My family and I went to Palms in West Hollywood this Easter. We were seated at a booth. I again thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the great steaks. Two in my party had a veal dish. It was not up to par. The portion was large. However, the texture wasn't great and sauce not very flavorful. But I guess you should eat steak at a steak restaurant. Our server was good, when around. He spent a great amount of his time chatting with the booth behind us. It seemed like his was a relative and about to join them in the booth. "

  • "The Palm is always my first choice in dining. Varied menu with options for anyone and excellent food; impeccably prepared and professionally served by the industry best staffs. The Palm is hands down the best steak house option. In fact, the seafood and italian menu options are tip notch as well. The restaurant is well run and a must-visit in LA"

  • "Second time here. Great food and service. The only bad part is the AC. It is either on or off and therefore hot or cold, no in between."

  • "I have always been a Palm Restaurant supporter, but this time the food was simply adequate. At the price, it was not acceptable to recommend. My guest and I ordered Lamb chops, a bone in New York Steak and Crab cakes, along with salads that were fine. The steak lacked flavor and the lamb was disappointing, I have been to different Palm Restaurants dozens of times, I am concerned that they are loosing their focus on excellence---"

  • "Veal dish dry. Lobster excellent. Vegetables great. The person handling packaging for take home did not follow our request. Completely left out one item and fid not include part of lobster that we asked for. Drinks were excellent. Waitress attentive and friendly."

  • "My husband and I have date nights every Saturday. We try and go to The Palm twice per month if not more. We find the ambience and overall staff very welcoming. We stop at the bar and have a Martini and then to our table for a delicious dinner. We leave with a smile. Lauren is always sweet and personable as well as Dragon recognizing us and saying hello."

  • "The Palm is THE place for lobster and steaks and oh, their Gigi salad!!! The staff here is amazing and attentive and knowledgeable - and so friendly! Suggestions on wine is always great! And, do save room for desserts (plural!) - This was my first time at this location and I would travel to have dinner here again! Enjoy!"

  • "Overall great evening. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere. Will definitely go back but order the lobster tail instead of whole lobster. Much less work and more lobster!"

  • "Four of us shared one Gigi salad, steamed spinach, goat cheese whipped potatoes, and veal chops. My friend and I shared, and our husbands each ate a whole chop. Everything was perfectly prepared except one veal chop that was too rare. We sent it back for more fire and were pleased it came back medium rare--not overcooked as often happens when you send something back. Our server was fabulous. We had no coffee or dessert, and the bill was about $200, not including wine. We have been going to the West Hollywood Palm since it opened, and we usually have steaks, lobster, or the veal parmigiana (best in town). Sometimes the lobsters are a bit overdone, but the steaks never disappoint. It's always a great evening at The Palm."

  • "Whenever I have a special occasion to celebrate, it's at the Palm Restaurant. I started eating at the Palm in NYC and frequent the one in Las Vegas and the one in West Hollywood. I have never been disappointed with the service and the quality and taste of the steaks, lobsters, salads and desserts. This is the real old fashion steak house experience. I highly recommend it."

  • "Fabulous steak as always. But, have now learned that if you ask for medium rare, expect it a tad overcooked/more like medium. Regardless, great food, waiters & ambiance. We will be back."

  • "Both family members went with the surf & turf and loved it! I went with something off menu that used to be a Palm specialty: Stone Steak which is New York Strip sliced over pimentos, onions & white bread. They did the best they could but didn't have the large pimentos and they forgot the white bread. Nevertheless, it was very good!"

  • "We go to the Palm regularly, usually to celebrate special occasions, as it is not an inexpensive place. But it's worth every penny. The waiters treat you like royalty. I had this fabulous cocktail with rum, ginger and lime - tasty and refreshing. My husband had delectable clams casino - I stole one, enjoying those juicy, crunchy bits of bacon over the chewy clam. I had fantastic simply broiled sea bass - so sweet, fresh, almost like a fish that was butter in a past life. My friend Nancy's lobster tail looked fantastic - and she devoured every bite. The potatoes au gratin, as always, were creamy and incredibly rich. My husband's rib eye was cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned. Worth every penny."
