Diner Reviews
  • "Lobster bisque good but had better. Had lobster bisque in many places. Palm was good but at 13.95? Chilean sea bass was very good and the way it was served was excellent. The price was reasonable. Chicken parm was very good. But 33.95 for chicken?? Steak was good and fairly priced. Double cut lamb chops were very good, but had as good elsewhere for less than 55.00. Sides were very good. "

  • "Food and greeter were fine but waiter was slow and a bit rude. 1 1/2 hours for a business lunch on a moderately full day."

  • "The rib eye, filet mignon, lamb chops -- all delicous and perfectly prepared to the temperature requested. Their chilean sea bass is also fantastic. It comes with a corn relish that is very tasty. Too bad that their meat dishes don't automatically come with a little side vegetable instead of needing to order it separately like a traditional/old fashion steak house. Regardless, you must save room for the 7 layer chocolate cake for dessert!"

  • "Food is very good, drinks are well done and the old school charm is a fun setting. Shrimp cocktail is among the very best I've had, really enjoyed the balsamic reduction with the scallops and the porcini dusted bone in strip was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend"

  • "The service and food were in a race to see which would win! Both were amazing!"

  • "Smoked rib-eye. Only Plam we've been to that has it."

  • "The Palm used to be special in terms of ambience and quality of steaks. This last visit was not remotely special. The food was overly salted and the steaks, while perfectly cooked, weren't particularly tasty. No reason to pay the high prices for a top of the line steakhouse for meat not any better than I could cook at home."

  • "This restaurant is only for special occasions or for those on expense accounts. It is super expensive and overpriced. Food was good but not great. Service was outstanding however."

  • "Angela the hostess is terrific and the bartenders are great along with the wait staff. Worthy of the Palm and name tradition."

  • "I have been going to the Palm for 25 years. I just moved to TriBeCa and went to the palm . I ate in the bar area and Mollie the waitress was great. The food was great the service was great. I took the family 2, weeks later and it was the worst meal we ever had the chicken parmigiana was tough like a frozen piece of chicken the manager apologized and made 2 new meals. It was the same. The salad I ordered without onions came with onions. We ordered the slightly smaller salad and we're charged for the larger salad. Total waste of money. And we were not compensated for any of the meal turned me off to the Palm."

  • "We go Palm restaurants quite often and really enjoy the food and service. At The Palm Tribecca the service was very slow and all our steaks were over cooked. The table next to us was loud and obnoxious . It was quite expensive and we left saying we won't go back!"

  • "We were seated immediately, which is always a plus. Service was friendly and efficient. Steaks were heavenly!!!! One friend had lobster which she loved."

  • "Food service was amazing. The filet mignon was juice and quiet tasty. My date had the lobster and couldn't stop talking about how fresh and tasty it was. They even cracked the shell and pulled all the meat out for her. We would definitely go back again."

  • "Overall my girlfriend and I had a great time. But with all of the hype I was expecting the steaks to be better. Apart from the underwhelming steak the food was good and the atmosphere was just right for a late V-day night dinner. One other plus is that they have their full menu on holidays."

  • "They were way overbooked for the night (valentine's day). Packed the back room with tables, and not enough servers. Our entrees came 2 hours after we ordered. We like the restaurant and will go back, but on this night it was a huge failure on their part."

  • "Had a wonderful Valentines Day meal. The 5 pound lobster was unbelievable. The best I have ever had. Can't wait to return again soon."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "I asked for a filet mignon to be medium cooked. The waiter acknowledged that that meant, "pink". I agreed. The steak was pink on the edges but had that 'raw-loook' towards and in the middle. I left the core of the steak. I'm a bit surprised that The Palm chefs cannot discern, after all these years, what Medium means. Why didn't I return it? I'm sure if I did, it would have been well done. and I didn't have time to have the food sent back. We were on a tight schedule. Im very surprised over this.."

  • "The food is a superior quality of both sweet tasting lobsters and fresh steaks. The side for one are bigger enough for two. The potatoes and half and half were great. Appetizers of shrimp cocktail, scallops wrapped in bacon were delicious. The caesar salad was tremendous and could have ordered the small caesar. The oysters and clams were simply delicious. The desserts were fabulous. The manager Courtney Wendell was gracious and concerned that every table were enjoying themselves. Would definitely recommend."

  • "The quality of the food was excellent. Aftering seeing the calories, we opted for lighter fare, even though I wanted to go for a steak. But it was the BEST piece of swordfish I have ever had. The martini was perfectly made. The table bread was fresh and yummy and butter instead of olive oil - what a relief). We had a couple sides and then topped off with the most delicious bowl of berries and cream. Service was swift and prompt, but not too rushed. Waiter was a little irritated, but it was Sunday night, so who knows! I like good, solid, quality food, simply prepared and this was the place for me. None of that "fushion" stuff for me!"

  • "The Lobster Mac and Cheese was outstanding as was the Swordfish and Steak entrees. All around good service. Would definitely eat there again"

  • "I think that with the growing neighborhood competition, The Palm needs to step up it's game. The $45 filet is simply pathetic, sitting alone on the plate. Need to bring back the multi-course prix fixe to offer value. Everything is good, not great and for these prices, you want great. I requested a booth when I made my reservation and they ignored it and seemed surprised by my request - where is the attention to customer service?"

  • "The food was good, huge portions, quite expensive. Meat comes as it is, all sides are extra! The crab cakes where amazing!"

  • "We had a wonderful (early) dinner on NYE at the Palm with our 3 year old and 7 month old. Our server, Daniel, was very attentive and made our new years celebration a success. We will definitely come back soon!"

  • "The Palm continues to live up to its standard...Steaks were cooked exactly to order - very tasty. We had a party of 6 with two childeren [ age 11 and 16 ] with something on the menu for all. 3 shared the 36 oz new your strip for $99 - despite best attempts, it was still too much to finish. The New York Cheesecake is light, very tatstey and like no other - highly reccommend."

  • "I ordered the sea bass and simply put, it was cooked perfectly. I was really impressed because the large and meaty portion was cooked throughout but not overcooked. The outside was lightly grilled while the seasoning was just enough to allow the true flavor to shine."
    Dined on 12/28/2013
  • "We dine at the Palm about once every other month. Their lunch specials are great. We were sad to see the pick a pair combo is gone. They really should bring that back. The did was excellent as usual, but the service this time around was not. The waiter disappeared more than once & simple requests ignored."

  • "The Palm is always a good bet for delicious steak and lobster meals. Tribeca Palm can also can be counted on for courteous service and open on holidays. It is pricey, so be prepared going in."

  • "Love the Palm. You always know what you are getting. Good food, service and atmosphere. TriBeCa location easy to get to by car as it is just off the west side highway."

  • "It was our first time at this restaurant and the food was outstanding. We each had the Surf and Turf and the fillet miignon literally melted in our mouths! We'll be back for sure. Almost forgot to say how friendly, attentive and efficient the servers were. It's expensive but for a special occasion well worth it."

  • "We had our Christmas Day lunch here, and everything was great, food was good, service was good, would definitely return and recommend."

  • "We were graciously greeted and seated. Our waiter, Junior (Brett), was attentive, and helpful. The food was well presented and cooked to perfection! We sampled the various steak options, all of them tender and succulent. The Chilean Sea Bass and salmon offerings were flavorful with understated spices that complemented the fish rather than over power them. Overall, my family of very picky eaters found the experience delightful and pleasing to the palette. The wine lovers among us gushed about the selection, as well. We commented on how eating at The Palms may become a new Christmas tradition!"

  • "My wife and I have been relative Palm regulars for years. While West Side was our first big love some ten plus years ago, we are now smitten with Tribeca. Never disappointing in any respect (tried the seared tuna last night for the first time and blown away) and always finding new reasons to return (where sometimes the new reason is just because we want to go). We are proud 837 Club members and I won't even tell you the number of lifetime points. We thank the Palm for its consistent and reliable excellence."

  • "A last minute Christmas Eve reservation was no problem. The food and service was as hoped from many prior visits to this Palm, despite the holiday. The friendliest wait staff and pace of the dinner made us not feel rushed. Food consistently high quality from appetizers to dessert. And I street parked, no sweat, in this neighborhood. Our favorite Palm, from among many in various locations around the country, is the closest to home."

  • "We met some friends here for a group dinner. It was very predictable and food was certainly what is to be expected at a Palm. Atmosphere was very low key, no big issues just not vibrant at all. Sides came out very late in the meal .. my son had his complete steak eaten before (2) of the (3) sides showed up ... not what you would expect in such a good place."
