Palm Restaurant - San AntonioWe visited for lunch and feltWe visited for lunch and felt the service was really slow. Tea glasses were left empty for long periods of time.Food5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mealOur meal was very good. I had the Chilean sea bass with corn relish and it was marvelous. The corn relish was killer and fish was cooked perfectly. My wife had the chicken pram and it was huge we both ate some and did not come close to finishing it.n it was so tender it just melted in your mouth.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceWe ate here before going to the Amy Schumer show. Surprised that Baked Potato wasn't on the menu as a side choice.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a PleasureIt is always a pleasure to dine at The Palm. Ambiance, service, food, and valet are all excellent.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb food, service, atmosphere. We went to the Palm en route to a play at the Majestic Theater across the street. We turned a nice evening into a very special occasion. Omar, our waiter, was wonderful. Always nearby, but never intrusive, with a wonderful sense of humor and outstanding knowledge of the menu and wines. My filet was perfectly prepared and I could have cut it with my fork. My wife's veal cutlet and shrimp were also wonderful (she reluctantly let me taste them). We could not have asked for a better meal or time.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the second time atThis was the second time at the Palm. We were a bit disappointed because the fried shrimp dish we ordered the first time was not on the menu.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDivine DiningI am a frequent diner at The Palm due to the consistent excellence in quality of ambiance, cuisine and service that I experience. My favorite choices on the menu are the filet and chilean sea bass not to mention the sauteed spinach and then topping off the meal with the delicious italian coffe. I've raved about The Palm to my friends and have recommended they dine here when downtown taking in a show etc. I plan to visit whenever possible as to experience a flawless evening.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dining ExperienceThe Palm held up its usual great reputation with its creamy mushroom soup and crab cakes. The wait staff could not have been more attentive, yet was never intrusive. A great dining experience with our waiter watching the clock for us to make sure we had plenty of time to make it to our show without hurry.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Pricey but Worth ItStarted out at the Bar to pass some time before our reservation. Great fried shrimp appetizer and Pinot Grigio served cheerfully and with perfect service and attention. When seated, we decided to ask for a more quiet and intimate table and were accommodated instantly with a smile. The waiter gave us a brief history of the restaurant and adequate descriptions of the specials. The food was excellent, but the portions were huge. I would have appreciated a heads up from the waiter about that, as we would have ordered one entree and split it between us. The individual portion for the side dishes is enough for 2 people as well - no need to order the family portion at all, especially for just 2 people. Most expensive meal I've had in S.A.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMRegular customer - outstandingWe frequently visit the Palm in San Antonio and on this special Anniversary occasion we were treated like royalty!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPalm steaks continue to bePalm steaks continue to be the best of the high-end steak chains (ie. Ruth's Chris and Mortons). Our server Jennifer provided a great combination of great service, courtesy, and professionalism while still being personable and not stiffnecked. The final bill was as usual a bit hefty but you get what you pay for here.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorite "special"One of my favorite "special" restaurants that never fails to impress. I took my admin staff for lunch for Administrative Professionals Day and treated them to the 3-course Power Lunch. Everything was delicious! Service was prompt and unobtrusive. Our waiter even packaged our desserts to go since we had limited time. A great atmosphere, great staff and great food!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent meal....I really enjoyed my recent dining experience at The Palm. The staff was courteous and professional. I was having a quiet meal by myself and needed to do a little writing. They did not rush me and acknowledged my desire to have a slow, leisurely meal. The iceberg wedge salad was the best that I have ever had. My steak was lean, tender, and tasty! I topped off the meal with the flourless chocolate cake and some excellent coffee.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous as everWhile awaiting the arrival of my dinner companions, I purchased a glass of wine at the bar. They allowed me to take it out on the patio where I sat at one of their tables until my friends showed up. I thought that was nice of The Palm. I dine here frequently and have never been disappointed by the food. This time I didn't have my usual surf & turf, just the 9-oz filet with a side of fried asparagus. My friends had the New York strip with a side of potatoes au gratin. Two of us had dessert - me the key lime pie; her the huge chocolate layer cake. It took all three of us to finish that slice of cake. Two of us took home half our steak and sides. I love this place, anyway, but will always treat out-of-town guests to The Palm.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lunch menu and greatGreat lunch menu and great service. You won't be disappointed.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGot business? Palm for lunchNew executive lunch is perfect for meetings with clients and conducting business.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time dining at the Palm.First time dining at the Palm. It was a great experience and the waiter was excellent.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Palm is one of those placesThe Palm is one of those places that you either like or don't like. The menu is heavy (pun intended) with red meat options that are large enough to feed small families. And they know how to grill a steak! On the other hand, many overlook the traditional Italian dishes that were actually the start of the restaurant chain. My dear wife enjoyed her Veal Marsala immensely (along with the half lobster she ordered with it!) Everything was perfectly cooked and served promptly. In San Antonio, The Palm's location--just a block from the Riverwalk and across the street from the Majestic Theater make it a "date" night destination.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur reservation was honoredOur reservation was honored exactly at 7:45. Food was excellent. Service was a little slow than we would've liked but our waiter was very friendly and outgoing.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service. Good food.Excellent service. Good food. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. You can always count on everything being right when you go.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the first time weThis was the first time we visited The Palm in San Antonio. The food was outstanding and the service very good as well. However, it is very loud...not the kind of place you want to go to for a quiet evening of conversation and dinner. If the noise doesn't both you though, it's a great place to have dinner or drinks before attending a show at the Majestic Theater across the street.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food. Best, friendliestWonderful food. Best, friendliest staff in the city!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the location and theLove the location and the service. Very expensive but worth the price. My grand daughters love this place.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a wonderful experienceThis was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was beyond excellent and was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, but the waiter did not hover over our table or intrude on our time together eating. Could not have asked for anything more.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal, great serviceExceeded my expectations especially after having been to Bohannans next door. Service was very good and after a long wait for the main, which came out over cooked, the waiter and maitre 'd made good on it with a quick next out and a nice comp. Food quality was outstanding and the bar makes a great martini. Will return as I get to San Anton often3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGabe was our waiter and wasGabe was our waiter and was the best one we have had there ever... We stopped dinning there before shows because they could never have us done by the time the show started even though we arrive over 2 hours before show time. We had more than enough Tim. Gabe provided amazing recommendations and we really enjoyed ourselves.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSan Antonio VisitGreat Restaurant with service, food and atmosphere to match. The service was impeccable and the pace of the meal was perfect. We were not rushed and had a terrific time in conversation. We sat outside, which was a bit noisy, however we wanted the "real city view" and that goes to muscle car and motorcycle noises. Don't mind hearing a Harley going by.... The time spent was great and the food was even better.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice place.I thought the steak was great. The sides were good. Not as good as I would have expected though. The appetizers were very good. The server was very good and the bread man was excellent. The deserts were excellent. Obviously a great place to go out to dinner. For the money I expected a bit more, but I certainly had a great time. I would recommend planning for more time if I were to go again. I felt I rushed the experience in order to catch a show and the food would have been even better if I ate it a bit slower. The steak was great though. Excellent location in San Antonio.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Palm is an old favorite,The Palm is an old favorite, with some of the best steaks and seafood around. Really solid food and service for a chain restaurant. If you ever need a back up plan to a local spot, Palm will always deliver.3/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very nice dinnerWe had a very nice dinner at the Palm. We started with salads and then each had petite filets which were cooked perfectly. We shared the spinach and fries and a single portion of each is plenty for a couple; especially after having salads to start and the bread. The service was very good and we weren't rushed at all. Overall it is a very nice restaurant but expensive so be prepared to spend at least $200 for a couple.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMNot wedge but smush saladService impeccable, steaks perfectly cooked, nova scotia lobster sweet and tasty. Clams casino fabulous as always. Only disappointment was the "wedge" salad which was not cut into a wedge, but instead a flat disk, piled with non-wedge salad toppings like fried onions and walnuts.....weird,difficult to eat, and not at all what one thinks of when ordering a wedge salad. If you want a real wedge salad, order it "classic" and be specific. Prices have gone up a little, but still worth the $$$.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
