While the server was extremely personable and helpful, the food preparation left a lot to be desired. The whole restaurant seemed to be in motion with servers, bus boys, etc. moving around quickly, and the patrons all speaking loudly. We have eaten at the Palm before, and it was our friends' choice not ours to return Saturday night.

Another GREAT meal at the Palm. He had the 4 pound Lobster, half and half potatoes, cream spinach and hearts of palm salad-all were very good. Dennis, Julie and Michelle gave us excellent service. Our bill was $200 plus tip but we did have 2 drinks each between us. This restaurant is very consistent with their food, service and upbeat atmosphere.

The food was decent, as is expected of a more expensive restaurant. However, the service was rote at best. The waiter was not interested in providing a pleasant experience, just neutral. He was there to take our order and deliver food. I wouldn't go back.

ALWAYS dined only@ the palm BEFORE theatre. recently proved to be a disappointment as the palm famous crabcakes were terrible/nothing as in the past where I would brag that the only crabcakes I EVER ordered were at the palm b/c they always were superior /no filler! I emailed them to ask if they were getting crab from another source & was told that the philly mgr would contact me. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN! I emailed twice more but still heard nothing. we had points $ to use so we tried dining again & AGAIN the crabcakes were mushy & loose as before so now I know why I never heard back from ANYONE, let alone the manager! if inclement weather, the convenience of it to the academy is the only reason we will ever return for dinner..as a last resort!

My husband and I decided to head into the city for a nice tasty dinner and unfortunately chose the Palm Restaurant. I have to say that this dinner may have been the straw that broke the camels back when it comes to overpriced and under flavored food! When will the madness end for the these restaurants to get away with charging a laughable amount of money for dinner I could make at home with more flare and flavor. I mean come on! At least throw a little sauce in a swirl on the plate if you're going to charge me $48.00 for a 6 oz. Delmonico! And who started the stupid idea of family style sides. Come on chef put a little thought into my meal and put it all together for me. My newly married daughter puts tasty meals together.

Getting into the city for dinner & night life is always fun. I was fortunate enough to receive a generous gift card to The Palm & figured my husband and I would start there for dinner. The atmosphere was great, the waiter was very attentive, charming & knowledgeable. We asked him for recommendations for our appetizer & our meal. Our appetizer was apple wood smoked bacon w/ coleslaw and BBQ sauce, and it was amazing. We heard about the steaks here so we chose the Porterhouse for two, with a side of brussel sprouts. The steak was very tender but was lacking any flavor(which was disappointing since we had just been amazed by the appetizer). When we received the bill, the steak became even more disappointing. It certainly was not worth $125.

Filet slightly overcooked, but the right temp... The Bisque was entirely uneventful - other than the presentation. Side dishes were also... well... boring. And although the restaurant may consider it 'bashing', the waiter was inattentive and haughty. Because of the inattention ON A SUNDAY NIGHT, the meal took twice as long as needed. Having been a professional waiter and trainer, I assure you that assessment is accurate. If not for the pleasant company I would have complained. And did I mention that the wine was ridiculously-priced? THE WINE WAS RIDICULOUSLY-PRICED, although the Zinfandel was very nice. On the 'AgSurpher Value Scale', I give it a (-2.0); 2 below "Worth it" (This is AgSurpher's Official COST | ENJOYMENT ratio).

This place is identical to the other Palm I've been to in Dallas. The faces on the walls provide entertainment in trying to figure out who everyone is, and then the food is pretty stellar. The service can be lackluster and they can be rather condescending, but with steaks like theirs, they can ALMOST get away with it.

Service was pretty good, food was expensive as you would guess, and the atmosphere was steakhouse clubby no surprise there. I ordered a small portion Caesar, the bone in ribeye and a glass of 14 Hands Merlot. Standard Caesar and good wine, but surprisingly my medium rare steak came out medium. I dined on a Monday and it wasn't busy so the kitchen was definitely not slammed, so this was definitely surprising for a high end steakhouse. I was debating whether to send it back or not, but I kept it and told my server who offered to take it back. Next time that happens I will send it back, I paid too much money in a high end steakhouse for my steak to be overcooked beyond my requested medium rare.

We were seated promptly in an available booth. Unlike some restaurants, they did not run out of their special. The lobster was deliciously tender and they didn't skimp on the drawn butter and lemon. When our personal choice of the side did not meet our expectation (was good, but not what we thought it was going to be), there was no problem in asking for a different side that was brought promptly with no drama. The drinks were excellent and were not watery. The desserts were incredible, especially my companion's bag of donuts that was really a bag of warm wonderful donuts! I have never eaten at the Palm in Philadelphia and I will make sure to do so many more times.
